Yeah it does look like her hand was bruised up.  Probably from an IV or something?

From one of the articles I read about Ms. Dion's IVF treatments, blood work is done frequently.  If you get blood drawn frequently in the same area, scar tissue can develop and make it difficult to get to the vein.  My late husband had that problem and they resorted to drawing blood from the top of his hand which, at times, caused some bruising.   The nurses usually use a "butterfly" needle (very thin) when drawing blood from the hand to minimize pain and bruising , however, it can still leave a bruise.    From what I can see in the photos, she has some bruising on the top of both hands

Nah, I don't think it is from an IV/drip (whatever you call it). The IVF procedure is only minor surgery. I think for the egg retrieval they only  give her anesthesia for something like 20-30 minutes, and she can go home the same day. The transfer is sometimes not even done under anesthesia and as far as I know you can even get up after an hour or something if you don't have to much pain, so I don't think that it is necessary. I suppose if something goes wrong, like if her blood suger falls or something like that, then they would give her a drip. Who is the medical expert here? But I think it migh be from all the blood work they do.

I don't know about humans, but every Veterinary surgery I've ever seen, even minor ones, have involved an IV catheter being inserted into the front leg (animal equivalent of hand LOL!)
A few reasons they do it that I know of....they administer the pre-anesthetic sedative that way, sometimes fluids if they think it'll be necessary, and also because if the IV catheter thing is already in the hand, if there's any kind of emergency they can then easily inject whatever drug is necessary without having to fuss around and waste time trying to get it into the vein.

Of course, Celine is not a dog, and I'm not a a human IVF Doctor (just a vet nursing student), so maybe it is just from blood tests. Just sharing a bit of what I learned in class, in case anyone was interested.

If (and I'm saying IF) this last IVF was succesvol, when would she be 3 months preggers??

I would guess sometime by the end of the month. But what I'm wondering is: If she is pregnant, shouldn't she have been in NY again by now for a check-up and stuff? Don't they usually do the first ultrasound at 4-6 weeks if you get pregnant through IVF?

I dont think its necessary because her gynecologist is in Palm Beach.

well if she is pregnant from her 6th IVF, then she will be 10 weeks pregnant on wednesday.

I think that if she is pregnant, she will announce it in 2-3 weeks. That's what people normally do and we all know the if she is pregnant, that she is dying to tell the world
