So Celine has said that along with performing her hits with a 31 person orchestra, she will also be performing hits from Hollywood movies. What songs can we possibly expect to hear?
Maybe we can get a revival of "If You Asked Me To".... I hope we finally get to hear her rendition of "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"
I'd also enjoy a movie medley with WIFIL, BATB, and another movie song of hers. But please, BYLM and MHWGO in there full versions.

These are some songs that Celine has recorded that have been used in movies/stage productions. Perhaps not necessarily Hollywood movies, though:
Of course then there are the songs that were meant to be hers, but were passed to other artists:
- SL4C -
- "When I Fall In Love"
- "Because You Loved Me"
- "My Heart Will Go On"
- "Then You Look At Me"
- "The Prayer"
- "Ma Nouvelle" (sp?)
- "Bewitched, Bothered, And Bewildered"
- "Beauty And The Beast"
- "I Knew I Loved You"
- "I'm Alive"
- "Live (For The One I Love)"
- "Ziggy"
- "Tonight We Dance! (Extravagance!)"
- "To Love You More" (technically a Japanese soap opera theme - I think)

- "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
- "There You'll Be"

As there will be an orchestra, I hope she does songs like 'Then You Look At Me' and 'Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)'

I reckon it's going to be a very sophisticated type of show, with Celine in evening gowns in front of a large orchestra performing nore standards and some of hermore well known movie hits like BATB, BYLM, MHWGO (sadly) etc.
Over The Rainbow, which she hasn't performed since she was a young girl will hopefully be included. Also she may well use this opportunity to sing a Streisand number.
I'm really interested to see what she might do with LCMM in that type of show. Surely she won't drop it. It would be a shame to loose that tradition after all these years.
Actually, I hope I'm wrong about the feel of the show as I'd like her to stay a bit more contemporary for a while, but as long as it's not too ballad led, and has some excitement and energy to it I'll be happy.

hell yeah...
The you look at me with an orchestra
only thing what worries me, is that it will be all about classical old hollywood songs, stuff she has to do in her career but not now, but when she is 70

well she could know if she visited this forum...
I have been thinking about this orchestra thing..and I think I have an idea what it could look like!
In Holland we have the very succesful Symphonica in Rosso concerts. They are given almost every year,
with a big (dutch or international) artist and a huge orchestra. All famous songs with an orchestral sauce!
We had Marco Borsato - he is big dutch star , we had Lionel Richie and last year, Diana Ross.
I can see Celine giving such a concert too:-)
to see what I mean;
the song called - ROOD (RED) from Marco Borsato
Lionel Richie - Endless Love/Dancing on the Ceiling
Lionel Richie was so impressed that he wanted to buy the concept to go on stage in America.
Diana Ross

Ce n'est qu'en te croisant
Que j'ai su, j'ai compris...
Elle
Est mon ideal
La plus grande etoile
Et je veux ressembler
A son portrait fidele...
Celine pour toujours. <3

Now, let me think
Totally agree with a few already mentioned
Calling You
What A Feeling
Fame - hard to think of uptempo songs
Woman In Love
Sat Nite Fever revival
It Must Have Been Love
Hungry Eyes - I love She's Like The Wind, but its a blokes song
Then You Look At Me
Hopelessly Devoted To You - perhaps Grease medley
Moon River - OMD
followed by
The Sound Of Music
even tho its my all-time fave film
Over The Rainbow - more Eva Cassidy style this time tho
Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Pinball Wizard - if she's feeling brave with her english!!
We Don't Need Another Hero
Perhaps a bit of Shirley B and James Bond - Goldfinger or something??
I would love to hear her sing Doris Day's Secret Love
- as she's already recorded BB+B
Can't think of any others right now.

Ummm... "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that song - one of my karaoke favourites, too. But can you really see Celine doing that song? Especially when the new show's got a whole orchestra? I doubt they would even think about it, let alone doing a "classical" version of it. It would, however, be cool if she did do it. I'd love to hear her own touch to such an amazing song. But, sadly, I don't see that happening.
Seriously, though, could you imagine Celine singing "And I said, what about breakfast at Tiffany's? She said I think I remember the film, and as I recall I think we both kinda liked it, and I said well that's the one thing we got" How awesome would that be?

Some songs on people's wishlists scare me! LOL
I hope it's just a small theme. There'll have to be some pop songs, too, no?

I can see the setlist changing alot, as didn't Rene say they are free to use any movie song?
I'd love to hear her sing ''There you'll be'' from Pear Harbour, ''Somwhere over the rainbow'' from the Wizard of Oz, ''Wind beneath my wings'' from Beaches, and this is a bit random but either of the two main songs from Coyote Ugly....
And I would love her to sing her own song '' Then you look at me ''
It would be amazing if she worked with the people who worked on the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics this year, because they are truely amazing, and if they mean what they say regarding raising the bar, then they definatley should atleast phone/email these people to see what they can offer the new show!

I don't know why, but the first song that came to my mind when I read that she's going to sing some old Hollywood classics was "Somewhere" from "West Side Story". I would love to hear Celine in that

I hope the orchestra sounds as beautiful as it does for World Children's Day...
MHWGO has been performed in orchestra a few times...WCD, Pavarotti's show, and I think the Oscar's....the last two were pale in comparison to WCD.
