Ok, just my opinion but that beige dress is HORRID.  Its obviously made for a girl with boobs and Celine has none.  It looks like it fits only when she keeps her arms tight to her sides while it just hangs sloppily and far too low when she doesn't.  Whoever put her in that thing should be shot.

The blue dress is beautiful though.

And I know its beating the proverbial dead horse but its cheap of her to lipsynch.  Whether it was her decision to lip or not, its just cheap and there's no real good excuse for it except that she was sick and couldn't sing live.  Disney is a huge corporation so if the Hotel wasn't conducive to her singing live they should've nutted up and found her a place that was.

The theme this year, admirably, is "Seasons of Giving," which corresponds to Disney's "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" campaign in which Disney will celebrate volunteerism by giving a free, one-day admission to a Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort theme park to 1 million people in the United States and Canada who perform volunteer service with a participating organization starting January 1, 2010.

The two-hour televised special will air nationally in High-definition December 25 on ABC-TV at 10 a.m. Eastern and 9 a.m. Central, Mountain and Pacific times.

Most people who complain about playback have no idea how a show is recorded and what is needed for a LIVE performance.
You need a proper stage and some equiment to have a great sound for TV... That's the reason why all performers will use playback on this show... Grow up!

That is the same thought I had too, Koolan.  For sure, we know with all her incredible energy that Celine almost never stands still when she is in control on a stage.  Perhaps the director asked her to stay stationary in that one spot, so she got the arms moving around more than normal to make up for the lack of freedom to roam.  

Thank you to all who have posted videos and pictures at Disneyworld.  It's just SO great to see Celine anytime, let alone right before Christmas.  She's just beautiful.  What a gift!

Actually, from a design standpoint, that dress is made to give a small framed, small chested woman more volume up top, so I can completely see why they put it on her Someone with a chest would not be able to wear it as well, they would look ginormous, out of proportion. And if they put something simpler on her, she might look even smaller and plus with the stage and everything she needed it big methinks.  Same with the purple dress, it has a ton of volume on it thru the chest, down the front, and the hips are exagerrated to make a small woman actually appear on stage/screen.  Céline is so tiny, she needs the extra volume, or let's just say, she's like a model, she can carry it very well.  Plus it's formal and this was a formal event for Christmas so she needed something with pizazz

Well said, Lindsay. And Xpresso, you're so right! This is not a concert, its a television event. The little crowed they had is just for looks. They need to be able to adjust the sound the way they wanted. It would have made no sense for it not to be playback (granted, she could have recorded a new playback version).

Exactly! That dress was made for someone like Celine...

Oh, and come on people ... enough with the lipping! It is seriously annoying reading all the complaints about it every time I come here. This was not a concert, but something like a Disney movie.... recorded in a hotel... Eveyone was tracked, even the choir.

I have to disagree with you and say that this is not a style for women with a "serious chest" as Celine once said (does anyone have that interview? I can't find it on youtube. It was hilarious!). There is so much going on on the bodice that you have to be rather small-chested for it too look right. Boobs under all that poofiness will look OTT, it would just be too much and look cheap IMO. Boobs don't hold a dress up, shoulderstraps do. And most of these dresses (those in Celine's pricerange) have a sort of corset built into the bodice that holds it up and if that's not fitted properly - there dress will slide down if you raise your arms...

That was probably one of the funniest interviews she has ever done (and she has said some funny things in the past) and it is definitely one of my favourites...   I think Celine has kind of accepted the fact that she is well um... ''small-chested''... I think it is great that she can joke about it...
