[Céline's Blues]

It was live but they polished her vocals BADLY. It doesn't do her voice any justice. So bland.

Also, this happened just days after Celine was on the show. When Celine was there Rosie mentioned that she even had diarrea from the anticipation...

i know...i miss her show too. The thanksgiving special did not do too well so it was cancelled

rosie's blog has been offline for sometime now...i hope it's back soon i miss it

The set has already been released in Europe, and it is ABSOLUTELY fantastic! Seeing Barbra in '06 was marvelous and this DVD brings back great memories.

Sony isn't putting out the DVD.  Live Nation put it out in Europe and Rhino (who release her other TV specials) will put it out in North America.

Barbra is having a special concert special tonight on CBS from 8-9. I'm not very familar with her stuff but since she is one of Celine's favs I thought I'd listen. =)

The full-length concert is so much better. Actually I can't say for sure - I didn't catch the CBS broadcast - but I imagine it's still better, although I could have done without Il Divo butting in on my Streisand high. <_<

I can't wait to hear it. I'm not optimistic about it being #1, but it'd be nice if it did so she could continue her streak of having a #1 album in every decade since she began. Just to recap, here's all her #1 albums by decade:

Barbra's new album, Love Is The Answer, produced by Diana Krall, will be released on September 29, 2009. It'll be released in two versions - a single-CD version containing the tracks with orchestral overdubs arranged by Johnny Mandel and a Deluxe Edition which includes a second CD with the original tracks featuring only a piano, bass, drums, and guitar.

The album leaked a few days ago and it's GORGEOUS. I was worried that the orchestral versions would be overproduced like much of her material from the past 20 years, but they pleasantly surprised me and did very tasteful arrangements that compliment Barbra's still-incredible instrument instead of drowning it out.
