Interesting you say that!

Today I was posting a package to my friend and I stuck a big picture of Celine on the back with a speech bubble and funny message (It was a picture of Celine on stage in the mini pink dress from the tour)  The lady laughed and said how it was lovely. I was like yehh I love her!
Then after a moment I said, wait, do you know who that is?! and she says ''ummmmm'' looks at it for a while, then the lady next to her looks to and they both go ummmmm......then the new lady said

''Is that Celine Dion???'' And I said YEP! She's amazing and they both said.. ''aw yes she IS GOOD!'' I was like YES YES SHE IS.

So, one lady out of two recognised her from a recent photo :D

I love getting into random conversations about Celine!! :)  I once went to Starbucks and they ask you for your name so they can call it out when your drink is ready and I said "Celine" and the woman goes "Oh! like Celine Dion?" and I got into this long discussion about how great she is :P
I love random Celine discussions too! Especially when they don't really know who she is so you talk about all her accomplishments, and how she sang with a sore throat, etc.

And I agree with the other 12% possibly being children because at my middle school not alot of kids know who she is let alone listen to her. I am the only actual Celine fanatic at school, but I don't care, and when I blurt out random facts about her they're like, you know more about her than she does!

Lol, in my school i have a few Celine fans that i know of, but most people in my age doesnt listen to Celine's music very much. I agree the 12% of the people who dont know her is either young children or they have been living under a rock.

  Thanks for the news! I know some people who don't know who Céline is and I'm sure they wouldn't be able to identify her from a photo.

I think that people in my school would... and that is because of me ^_^
It really annoys me when I say something about Celine and they go...
"oh... she sings 'the titanic song' "    I want to slap them. - at least they could call it by its real name MHWGO.

Random Céline discussions are the best. Especially if you aren't expecting it like hellmeister said. I went home to a friend's wedding a few weeks ago and the girl at the guest register handed me the pen and said, "Hey! You're the girl that really likes Céline Dion!" And I have no clue who she is hahaha. My fandom precedes me. I am secretly kinda proud of that ;) Then someone else at the reception said something about seeing some of my pics from the shows. It is at least a conversation starter :)

I also like it when random people or friends call you or text you or email to say "Céline is gonna be on tv in half an hour on Oprah (or something)." Haha they keep me informed but what they don't know is I've seen it 20 times, have it recorded, and could tell them exactly what designer shoes she's wearing (thanks to Frida). :D

People recognize her where I live but I don't know anyone who really likes her besides me :/ except for you guys of course :P

I've had a funny moment too. I was watching a TV Show called "Das perfekte Dinner" where real people meet and they want to figure out who of them can do the perfect dinner. Each evening of the week there is someone else's turn to cook and invite the others his home. Of course the guests make a walk through their house's and at one guy's private room some of them found a bunch of Céline in Berlin-concert pics. They wondered for a short time who it was. Then one guy shouted: " Oh the nose. It's Céline Dion!"
But then one of the other guests came to join them and he said "Nice. Been there too." I smiled and thought: me too :P

Darf ich für mich selber denken?

Hey everyone! I wanted to see people's thoughts about this new study that was released in Canada. The study basically states that most Canadians can identify entertainment icons like Celine (88% of the population), athelete and cancer activist Terry Fox (89%), and Las Vegas legend Wayne Gretzky (77%). Canadians as a whole however, couldn't identify key political and important figures in their nation's history. The inventor of insulin, Sir Frederick Banting, only got 8% of the nation's population who could identify him in a photo and only 41% of Canadians could identify Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. I would appreciate it if anyone had any thoughts on the study, especially Canadian citizens. I'm from the United States, but I love Canada and it's culture, (hence Celine). :D

Here is the link to the study:

http://toronto.ctv.c...=TorontoNewHome

Wayne Gretzky is not a Las Vegas legend exactly but a hockey legend that ended his career playing in Los Angeles.  He's considered by many as one of the greatest ever in hockey history.  He's always been called "The Great One".  Apparently you're not a hockey fan.

As for Céline, it doesn't surprise me at all that she's recognized by 88% of the population.

Haha, sorry I was thinking of Wayne Newton!!  :giggle:

Wayne Newton is American, born in Virginia.
Maybe you meant Wayne Campbell of Wayne's World (Mike Myers)  :sofunny:
