It's amazing! Why do people go crazy like this?! Why suddenly decide you want his album after he has died ?!

yeah I don´t get why people are suddenly interrested in his albums after his death.
Maybe someone who didn´t know that much about him and now see a lot on tv?
but still...don't think so. I mean most people have heard his music I think??
Here in Iceland there are no music channels but they have cancelled all regular tv programs on one channel and are only playing Michael Jackson.
Makes me want to dig up my Thriller album again.. (was just watching the Thriller video)

It's just these fans that have some of his CD:s cause they didn't need it at the time (when he was alive and did his gigs) now they buy them for appreciation and to honor him.. it's very hard for me to explain

I still can't believe MJ is gone. I know that he has not been as popular as he once was, but I remember him during the early 1980's and how big the "Thriller" album was. He was everywhere then and that album had multiple hitsw on it it. In fact I think most of the songs on it were hits.
He was definitely super talented and unfortunately, since he achieved stardom at a very young age, I think the attention got to him.
His music will live on.

You know that you appreciate something when it's gone... I've always considered him a legend but now I rediscovered his albums and songs and that's actually the only artist I'm listening to for the last 3 days...

Janet and her relatives may do a tour to honour MJ (and to pay the huge debts)! Poor Janet, she's in charge of paying all of them.

It's just so unexpected! I grew up dancing with Michael and Janet's music! In college a few years ago, we had social clubs that competed at the end of the year with a big choreographed production with singing, dancing, and costumes, etc for a big trophy. It was a big deal at the school and we spent months every year practicing at night and keeping things hush hush from the other clubs. My last year there we did a 70's versus 80's show with half of our club having a dance off with the other half to gain control of the disco haha. I was one of the 80's girls. I was on the choreography and costume commitees and we soooooo wanted to deck the 80s boys out in red "pleather" Thriller jackets, but our school WOULDN'T APPROVE IT because Michael Jackson's trial was going on at the time and they were afraid of how it would look to the board members who donated money to the school that came to see the show! WE WERE SO MAD! They couldn't get past it so we had to settle for blue jackets, not the same effect AT ALL. I got to do the solo moonwalk part during "Smooth Criminal" with one of my guy friends and dance around the front while the rest of the cast broke it down in the back. It was so amazing and to hear the crowd when "Smooth Criminal" started playing OMG it was such a rush! All the young people went nuts!
Brings back so many memories
And janet was always a staple in my jazz classes. "Black Cat" I've danced to I don't know how many times.
Such great music and such a tragic loss. I do believe he would have come back with something out of this world

I feel so strange about his death. I listen to the radio today - and NOTHING has the magic of his songs. We have some great performers today - who can actually sing and dance live (Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, sometimes Madonna) - but who is truly as gifted a performer as Michael Jackson? His songs were incredible. His dancing changed the world!
If there is a concert tour to pay off his debts - I hope it is a Janet Jackson concert. With Janet Jackson songs. And perhaps a couple tribute songs. But to do a concert full of Michael Jackson songs would be ridiculous. Janet has had an amazing career of her own - and she should do her own songs....in honor of her brother.
I'm sure there will be a tribue album of some kind (like with Luther Vandross).
I will remember Michael Jackson for his T A L E N T.

i've read somewhere that Michael was actually developing a new dance move for his upcoming tour that would put the moonwalk in shame. if that's true, that would be so interesting... but it's too late now... *sighs*

I started listening to his music when I was 10 or 11 because my older sister got me to listen to him and I liked him right off the bat. My friends and I decided that we are going to do Thriller at our Prom this upcoming year but now we have another reason to do it...for his honour.

OMG!!!!
has anyone heard about the 100 songs he had pre-recorded not to be released until he died, for his kids? I read an article somewhere about that. heck it might have been on here though. It will be interesting to hear those.

I heard about those...but I just don`t feel right listening to them if they were only supposed to be a gift for his kids...I mean its the last thing they have from thier father....

Oh I was under the impression that they were "for his kids" but released to the public as well, kind of as a way to generate an income for the kids, after he was gone.
Michael's dad was just on a live press conference talking about how they all knew Michael was a superstar, but how they wished he could have seen support like this when he was alive and how unfortunate it is that most times it takes something tragic for people to show this kind of outpouring. It made me think how glad I am that our girl, Céline has all of us who if we could, would show her every day! And we do when she's out n about on tour or performing!

Yeah too bad they didn`t show the whole interview...he was at the BET Awards last night and he was smiling and saying that the family was "fine" and couldn`t even refer to Michael as his son! He just called him a superstar...then went on to talk about a new record label he`s starting. A*******

hi
Michael, you were too good for this world, for the people here, for the decadence of the community around us. You are finally up with the angels, where you belong... You`re in heaven!
You were... you are and always will be a legend!
I wish media would of been more nice and give MJ love when he was alive and be more supportive , but instead they were giving him so much stress, teasing and humilieting him. Have they seen themselves in the mirror ? how many cosmetic surgeries they have done and how many scalatons they have in their closets? And now they talk nice about MJ and are showing that they really cared about him. How fake! WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY?
MJ, you are far away from this cruel money minded world, you had evertything, but givent a damned about it... Micheal gave up his childhood so the world could have one.
May god bless your soul, youre the legend 4ever.
Haters, go hang yourself, it makes the world a better place 4 you and me.
I LOVE YOU MICHAEL, AND I ALWAYS WILL

MJ's passing is a real tragedy.
I "remember the time" when I was about 8 and my parents bought me my first cassette tape and it was the Dangerous album. I played that tape over and over again, eventually making everyone nuts around me.
Even my grandmother liked his music, and there's a 62 years gap between us. That's one of the beautiful things about Michael Jackson's music : it spans through so many generations.
The imprint he made on pop music will never be replaced or forgotten. He was a true genius ! I am still stunned when watching his videos.
Like with princess Diana's death, I think we'll all remember what we were doing when the news hit us. I found out about his death first thing in the morning (because of the time difference;I live in Romania) . What a shitty way of waking up. Since that day I can't stop listening to his music and watching his videos.
Rest in peace Michael !

Why oh why did I watch this video? It only made me unbelievably angry !!!!
If you haven't seen this already, please have a look at Joe Jackson's interview at the BET Awards, less than a week after his son's death.
This guy is the biggest idiot ever. It's only now that I actually realize what Michael had to put up with. I'm now listening to "Childhood" from the HIStory album
