When I first listened on his Myspace, it had 54 plays- now 335! I love it. I love how she ad-libs like that at the end. Classic Celine- it's what sets her apart from all the others.

Wow...ok, I really like it!! Kind of country-ish... and good!
I actually thought she was singing in French at first...then I realized it's in English, I just have blocked ears.  :laugh: I think I'm coming down with something. :(
I still don't quite understand what it's about, I should probably read up about Canadian history or something. It's supposed to be a sad song, right? It feels sad, it made me cry! Celine and her emotions when she sings...it's just moving, I guess.

It is about the Acadian deportation (french from america), when the british gvnt decided to put the acadians in ships, separate them by age and sex, and send them to different states of the atlantic coast. Most of those states didn't want them either, so a part was parked, some had to stay in the ships or live on the beaches, other were put in jail, other shipped to england, etc. Some ships sank too.
It's a bit like the jews' diaspora, only in the 18th century. Acadians now live in different parts of the US, and france + UK, according to those forced migrations.

I love her uptempo songs. I just... think it's rare a ballad sounds very good nowadays. BUT this duet is AMAZING! I loved the "country" things without over things. The voice, the arregements. Perfect!
