Despite some of the less enthusiastic reviews/opinions about the book I am still planning on buying this book when or if it comes out in english. That way I can form my own opinion. I may like it, I'll just have to see. Just because someone else doesn't like doesn't mean I won't.

It's nothing like that, don't mislead people. She was yelling at Rene, because she tought her performance was awful, and she was telling him that if she doesn't like singing anymore, then she won't do it anymore. She wasn't asking him anything, she was just yelling at him. And he listened to her, without saying a word, then got up from his seat, went over to her, carressed her cheek for a long time, and then he sat back again, all the time touching her leg with his own, making sure they were in physical contact. And that calmed her down right away. Denise said Celine just looked and her, her eyes says "He can still do that to me" and just leaned in to get a kiss from Rene. She was just pissed, like we all get when something we want to get right goes wrong and we have no one to blame but ourselves. I really liked this little story, it shows how connected Celine and Rene are  

And yes, go and buy the book. It's not a bad book, it's a good one. A bit repetitive, Denise kind of focuses on one aspect of Celine's personality that she probably thought people don't know about and if you ask me Denise tends to think, like many people, that she knows more about Celine's inner feelings than Celine herself, which obviously can't be true. But it's a very nice read, it's written rather well  
As for myself, I dug into Rene's biography I received yesterday and it's really interesting cause there's so much we don't know about him and it has really nice pics and him and RC   But that's for another topic

aww I hope some scans the pics of Rene and RC from Rene's book are there any pics in the book by Denise?

I can't picture Celine yelling, it just doesn't seem like it's something she did. I have to say that suprised me a bit. I just wonder if Denise embelished a bit of this story though, because to me the yelling just seems so out of character for Celine....

This kind of reminds me of a story I heard Julie Andrews say once, that her fans still don't think she goes to the bathroom   It cracked me up, but it's true. Some people do really think their favourite actor/singer/whatever is just like they see them on TV and they don't do anything else.

If I'm allowed to post them, I will try to make some scans from Rene's bio. Not sure how they'd turn out, the book is quite thick, but I'll try. Also, I can't find the topic about Rene's bio.... If anyone can help  

No pics in Denise's book, just two very small ones of the back cover, one with her and Rene and one with her and Celine. Really small and I think we've already seen them. This was supposed to be an essay, not a bio, so I understand why they didn't put pics in. Also, other than granting Denise all access, Celine and Rene had nothing to do with this book.

I know she gets mad it just suprised me a bit to hear that she yelled, espcially since I've read that Celine said it takes A LOT to make her mad and she normally doesn't lose her temper. Now that I think about it it does make sense, the tour is stressful and she could easily become to stressed and get upset over something. Of course I get mad, I have the worst temper. It doesn't take much to make me mad. I never said Celine wasn't human nor that she smiles all the time. I just was suprised by the story is all and I thought maybe a bit of it was made up by Denise but that's just what I thought at first. I get that Celine is human and can get mad just like the rest of us.

I surely will when I read it. So far I've only read 2 chapters: the first one is an introduction and talks about how Rene won the biggest bet ever played at Caesar's Palace, in a poker tournement, on December 12, 2007, just days before Celine's last show there. He went into Celine's dressing room, hugged and kissed her and joked around, telling her she was being kissed by a champion. He won some 1.4 million dollars and a diamond bracelet. He gave that money away to charity. And the second chapter shoots us right into the middle of his crazy life style as a young, first time married man, looking for a way to make money off playing the roulette, coming up with this system, convincing his friends to put money into it, going to Vegas and loosing all that money. In spite of all that, those people are some of his best friends to this day... It's really interesting, as we don't know much about Rene's life prior to meeting Celine. And even after meeting Celine, we don't know what he's thinking etc. And the author took the time to talk to him and got his side of the story and some other people's side, so it's really interesting to read all that and especially how Rene's mind works, cause he's such a genius businessman/manager.

Of course Céline doesn't always have a smile on but I do not think Céline yells neither.  Not everybody yells you know, I don't.  Sure like most people(including me)  things make her mad and she can feel anger like everyone too.  But Denise said in the book that she never saw Céline being angry except for one time when she was angry( felt rage) in the plane talking to René after a show.  I don't think she said Céline was yelling at René.  Actually Denise says she never gets mad or yell at her team or anyone and that's what I've heard everybody say about Céline's character for years. She express what she wants but never yells. So I'm sure Céline gets mad sometimes, of course she does, but I personnally don't think she yells or shouts at people often(different thing to me).  Never heard anyone saying they witnessed that over the years.  Just wanted to make that distinction between being angry, mad, not being calm, feeling rage, expressing it..... and yelling at someone.  One can be mad or angry and express it without yelling believe me.  Anyway I guess I'm repeating myself a lot here, sorry!   And yes, of course, she's human and feels every emotion, good and bad, like everyone I agree.

I have bought the book some weeks ago and I'm reading parts of it once in a while.  I hope I have time soon to read it from beginning to end.  It seems like a great read.  Thanks for your resumé.  I have read René's bio some time ago though and I found it got better as the chapters went by. I haven't learn a great deal I didn't already know about him but it was interesting to read about their love and how they experienced those moments when he had cancer and also how loving and loyal he is to his friends and everyone he worked with over the years that were Céline's believers.  Love, loyalty, lifelong friendships and the way he leds his life and Céline's carreer, waiting and being patient when things go wrong and doing it and "pressing" when things are going well(like in a poker game), life is a series of sequence that can't never stay bad always, good sequence and bad sequence alternate always, you have to be patient when it goes wrong he says . Anyway there is much more, it's very interesting.  Bonne Lecture Theodora and everyone!

I don't think she said Céline was yelling at René.

That's exactly what she says actually. She says Celine was yelling at Rene, like she was blaming him for something. Go read the little piece again, you'll see.
To tell you the truth, I think I'd love to see Celine mad at least once.... I don't think my ears could handle it more than once if she started to scream. Imagine her screaming, with that huge voice of hers

Why do interviewers always ask her the same boring questions? There are so many questions she's never been asked before. Questions about the little things in her live... I'm so sick of people always asking about RC' s long hair and if she wants another baby or not. I can think of many questios they can ask her, for example:

1. What's your favourite board game (has someone ask her this before?)
2. What do you like to eat for breakfast?
3. Coffee/Tee
4. Do you prefer showering or taking a bath?
5. If you are sick and you have to stay in bed do you watch movies or do you prefer to sleep?
6. What's your favourite book?
7. Do you have any weird phobias?
8 What is your favourite holiday?
9. Are you ticklish?
10. What is your favourite animal and why?

Perhaps TeamCeline could do the competitions again if she returns to Vegas. The monthly one where you win tickets. Then once a year they did the hotel etc with the tickets - perhaps they could do another halfway through the year where you win tickets and also the chance to interview her for TC. So it would be a true fan who wins it who gets a meet and greet, and can ask Celine whatever questions they've always wanted to know. They could show it on TC then. Or if TC weren't interested do it via this forum if it was agreed.

Yeah exactly!!!  

I can't believe Denise Bombardier was aloud to ask anything regarding Celine, Rene and followed them on the world tour, and yet we have heard or learned anything new.... I find it extremely dissapointing!  

As I have said before I approached Celine and her ppl a few months ago about a forum interview, and hope to have it granted when she returns to vegas with new, serious and fun questions, so fingers crossed...

Yeah exactly!!!  

I can't believe Denise Bombardier was aloud to ask anything regarding Celine, Rene and followed them on the world tour, and yet we have heard or learned anything new.... I find it extremely dissapointing!  

As I have said before I approached Celine and her ppl a few months ago about a forum interview, and hope to have it granted when she returns to vegas with new, serious and fun questions, so fingers crossed...

Why do interviewers always ask her the same boring questions? There are so many questions she's never been asked before. Questions about the little things in her live... I'm so sick of people always asking about RC' s long hair and if she wants another baby or not. I can think of many questios they can ask her, for example:

1. What's your favourite board game (has someone ask her this before?)
2. What do you like to eat for breakfast?
3. Coffee/Tee
4. Do you prefer showering or taking a bath?
5. If you are sick and you have to stay in bed do you watch movies or do you prefer to sleep?
6. What's your favourite book?
7. Do you have any weird phobias?
8 What is your favourite holiday?
9. Are you ticklish?
10. What is your favourite animal and why?

I can think of many more questios. I don't know, maybe she has been ask some of these before. But I think sometimes people are much more interested in the little things rather than the same boring stuff interviewers always ask her. I don't think these things are even mentioned in her books.

Some of the answers we know. 8 - Christmas. 6. She said something about a book by Marc Levy.

2.  Toast, butter and peanut butter on top of it   (said it many many times over the years) Use to be that anyway.
3.  She "loves the smell of coffee in the morning" (late morning of course ), so I'd say it's coffee - Said it on TVA "Les Adieux de Céline à Las Vegas"(2007) - "...drinking a coffee in Paris "sur une petite terrasse" if she could - Tête-à-tête avec Lisa Payette long time ago

That's right! I've never heard her talking about tea, but a lot about coffee, even though she's not allowing herself to drink it when she has to sing, cause it changes her tremolo   Altough she always gets confused.... She always says "black coffee, two sugar"... Celine dear, black coffee means no sugar no nothing, just the coffee   . Anyway, we know how she likes her coffee, if we're ever in a position to give her some :praying:

Well we are getting completely off topic of the book but o well haha....Any ways I remember that when Oprah went to Celine's house in Vegas for the Oprah show that Celine asked Oprah something about hot tea vs. iced tea or something....I don't quite remember the exact convo, but i know tea was part of it! haha
