Oh my god, calm down.
I am not an ignorant person who believes that Celine's Life is only wonderful and I also do not envy her or anything like that.
She has the greatest voice on this planet and she deserves every single dollar she gets but still I never read such stuff
from Madonna or Cher for example. Those people also tour or toured and especially Madonnas shows are far more exhausting than Celine's.
Half of Celine's tour was not live anyway, so the shows themselves could have been much harder for her.

What stuff are you talking about exactly here?

half?! hardly! She sang live every night as many songs physically possible while maintaining the quality of her voice. Its not like she mimed the whole thing. she also spends the entire time running from one side of the stage to the next to entertain everyone, so is just as energetic as madonna and cher, but the point wasn't that they can tour, but Celine finds it too hard, but that she did more than twice as many shows that most others do in the same amount of time. Her tour visited many more places and she did more tours in the year she was on tour - thats what is being discussed, not that Celine is complaining about touring! Celine does much more pr that madonna too - she does interview while touring - not  lot, but a few, especially in europe. at least one in each country or a press conference type thing.
she thought she could handle such intense touring clearly, or they wouldnt have agreed to it in the first place, but i think that last bout of sickness that she couldnt get over shocked them and made the realise she was totally exhausted and the intensity of the tour was making her ill. she was really sick - my contact at sony told me she was coughing so bad that she couldnt talk for 3 days cos it just made her cough as her chest was badly infected and her fever was 103! For a singer, that kind of infection is very scary. So i'm not suprised that in hindsight she and rene think it was too much. She is only human and the constant travel, flying, performing, singing, entertaining and pressure took its toll in November, and even now, i'm sure shes exhausted and ready for a proper break

Yeah...I also think what Rene said in the interview is totally reasonable. Actually, all those reasons combined together led to the tour decision. First, their house is still in construction; second, she didn't want to extend Vegas contract cos FIVE years is long enough; Third, they want to show Charles the world and Celine and Rene also need fresh air! ----the above all can be the DIRECT reasons for the tour. And the INDIRECT reason, also the most essential reason, is that Celine simply likes to be busy. She is such an energetic and dynamic singer. She just can't slow down:) It's the truth that will never change!!!

I love such an active Celine, but I worried about her health so much when she gets sick... I never knew that she was so serioesly ill in November until ruglet told us here. A fever at 103 is horrible! OMG, I'm much scared even now. I never had a fever like that!

I agree that there were definately too many shows.

Im sad about a year and a half hiatus though but I understand and I know that Celine deserves it!!!

How many people can run from one side of a stage to the other and make $1 million an hour doing it!?  :mdr:   She needs to go into the Guiness Book of World Records for that! :P

And yes, Frozen Phoenix is correct about the half-live, half-lipped. We all know it, and she's been doing it for years. Where have you been? :P

Anyway, regarding this article, I can simply say that: Celine, like most human beings, enjoys being successful.

134 isn't that many shows in a year if she takes breaks between them, it's not like they would be back to back one after the other. there are 365 days in a year, 134 isn't that much if you think about it. she's still have 231 days off that year.  ^_^  I'm sure if Celine decides it to much and she can't keep up then she'd not to do many shows, and as for adding more dates to the TC tour, she didn't have much choice did she? She got sick after all so she had to reschedule rather than cancel and make alot of people lose their money especially if they didn't get their money back.  :ermm: I won't mind if Celine takes a year and a half off, she deserves it and she needs the break we can't expet her to keep churnning out cd's and tours without letting her have time to herself and time with her family.  :thumbsup2: I wish her the best and when she does take the year off I'll be happy for her and waiting to see what she comes back with  :whee:

Madonna's shows are more exhausting than Celine's? You must be kidding!  :o  Madonna sits on a pole and lips or holds a guitar and moves her chicken #ss!! Madonna lips the entire show with songs re-recorded in a hangar or something similar to give that "hollow" sound. And Madonna performed half the number of shows Celine did, and even less than that. Madonna is taking 6 months off before resuming her tour... So, easy Frozen Pheonix. And regarding Cher, if you think she really sings live, well you must have some ear problems... She even lips on shows like The American Awards.

FYI - Celine is the hardest working person in show-bizz!! And it's been mentioned in many newspapers already. It's no surprise. Look at her schedule closely and you'll see.  :thumbsup2:

To see something like this, I'm almost certain you haven't travelled much in your life yet. Because to go to these 134 shows, Celine had to travel the world and just the traveling part is exhausting. There is the jetlag too. And if you have never experienced jetlag, you can't have the slightest idea. It's not like 134 working days. You have to double those 134 days to include travel time, sound check and even some interviews in between or personal meetings before the shows.

FYI - the way René said it in French doesn't sound at all like complaining. He just gave the facts that it wasn't always easy and that it was tiring. I don't see the arrogance as someone mentioned. It's a fact. It would be more arrogant to say "We did this world tour without a glitch and we didn't feel it physically!!

so she does not want to go to Vegas anymore! she didn''t like the steep stage! I also hope there will be a dvd recording of this last concert - full of French Songs!!! and if not, hope someone will record the audio!

well I guess she didn't want to continue vegas back then, cos she was there for 5 years! but that (unfortunatly) doesn't mean she never wants to go back. I think the new vegas show won't contain a steep stage like AND though!

So let me get this straight: in order to protect Celine's voice from the cold winter in Montreal, they go on a world-wide tour that has scheduled 134 shows in one year? Am I the only one who doesn't see the logic in this?

Ah well... at least we know now why they did the tour so shortly after Vegas.. I wish I could do the same... "Hmm, my house isn't ready yet.. what shall I do? Oh I know, let's travel the world!"

That's interesting to know the idea of the tour really came from Celine and not from René! Celine is not a victim, some people should realize that!
Also, that's kinda weird he just realize that there was too much shows, we knew from the beginning! They should do ore shows in major city and not in smaller city (like Nassau, they could came to MSG), or Windsor in Ontario (they can go in Toronto or Ottawa)

no céline aint the victim and yeah i know she has a voice in the plans; but still... I don't think the 134 shows were céline's idea!  :whistling: for a start there were too many in Germany and like Gonzillo said, there wasn't even one in Spain (one of the hottest countries in Europe btw  ) and i think they should have handled Paris different too... go for 4 shows and have options for more, not announce 7 (?) shows all in once... but maybe that are lessons for the next world tour... in 2017 or something like that :P

She also did a little shopping in Japan and China, maybe Korea too. Poor her and RC didn't even go to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City when she was in Beijing.  :whistling:

She did a little boat trip in Amsterdam.

You all get this as true.

Why do you all believe in everything that you hear????

Celine would never suggest a world tour after Vegas.
By the time she went to X-factor she was really pissed even for the promotion of the cd in europe.
How come she would suggest this? She was terrible sad at the end of AND cos she would STILL have to do a world tour.

They throw this at us and you all believe!!

Other thing: this thing of Rene managing the places so they only could step in hot places... Oh, the show in China where she in almost ZERO? Was it scheduled?!?! This is crap! I don't believe it.

Mister Angelil is a sales man and a publicity-man. He now talks about protecting Celine and that they must have done less shows --- only to say the next time that, now as she have less success -- will do less shows cos it's better.

Mister Angelil wanted desperately do a world tour after Vegas cos she knew what Vegas did to Celine's career. Plus, he loves money and loves, of course, she singing non stop, no matter what cost.

Also, it was really mean to say that the only reason was to not stay in a house in a cold weather. Thank you so much!

Well, Celine has mentioned before that she likes doing the vegas show cos she got to do her work as a singer and as a mom and wife to her family. But a world tour is different. But I would really love her to visit our country.

Oh, may folks on here are in major need of a handful of chill pills.  LOL

Here's my take on what other people may be trying to say:

Between Vegas, the raked stage, the numerous and frequent tour dates, the making $1mil for running around a stage and miming the opening number [again - 'member TPOL during FIY Tour?!]...  Instead of making these be such HOT topics of interviews, conversations, etc, why doesn't Celine INC actually do something about it?!  LOL  It's obvious they have a certain degree of control of many, if not all, of the creative, technical and financial aspects of what's going on.  Make more changes and stop the griping.  How often did we have to hear about a raked stage in Vegas?  How long were they there?  It couldn't have been "fixed" [read:  changed] during one of her breaks?

They make the choice to use playback on certain numbers, which to me, should be one of the hardest choices to make, if you're considering miming the same numbers for years at a time.  You're a live performer who's giving in to other stresses [concert dates, musical arrangements, etc], rather than chiming in and saying "hey, i'd like to change this up...  it's boring singing it so often, in the exact same way, for almost 15 years in some cases.  I for one am sick of the age-old reason [it's an excuse, really] from René, saying "the fans expect her hits to sound a certain way...blah blah blah", when MOST of us would PREFER some changes to these songs.  [PLENTY of other acts and performers change their numbers and arrangements for each world tour due to the reason that it does get boring performing the same song, the same way].

It wouldn't be as frustrating to hear things regarding raked stages, numerous tour dates, etc. if all of the following weren't true:

- Celine Inc. is in more control than they're taking advantage of [change the friggin stage - be a DIVA!]
- It's not they're first time to the rodeo [not the first world tour - you've toured lots, and now you're a mother and want to tote your family around with you... spread your dates out.  just do it.  sheesh!   :boat: ]
- René is a seemingly very smart businessman who keeps tabs on what's going on in the world with other performing acts and could have definitely taken clues  and pointers and added them to his own experience to make this tour much more enjoyable for EVERYONE involved [Him, Celine and their family, "da technicians" and the FANS - there's an IDEA!  The Fans!  LOL   :cheer: ]

I understand the French-Canadian Bubble that Celine Inc. is in.  She's interviewed to those ideals in the past.  I'm glad she's not running around Hollywood getting pictures taken of her naughty bits, but c'mon...  Many of us can already tell that she's taking control and being more demanding than in the past, but it would be nice to hear that they're doing some things to truly improve the company that is Celine Inc. for the long term.  It's just so frustrating to read articles, see interviews, then come on here and read such diluted thoughts about what's going on.  I still love you, though.  LOL   :boxing:

:smartass: Gosh, it is SO NICE to be on the outside, looking in!  LOL

hmmm.... i just thought that 134 shows in a year is a lot . it should be something like a weekly show and that would be better.  :D

LOL

:pile:

I agree with u completely,no any adding, but the problem i see is that she is under control still. That's the thing i see all the time and that's the reason i didn't want to discuss about when i said i'm amazed she decided sth by her own. :confused:I shouldn't say anything cuz i've already seen the reactions of some people,so it might be wrong and explosive to say sth even all of them know the real truth.
