Let me put it this way: special-effects wise, the movie is absolutely fantastic. But story-wise, it's a complete chaos. Most of the jokes are way too dry, over the top and unnecessary and some people can find the Twins' comments a bit too offensive...
And yeah, Michael Bay has put too much attention to sex, bad jokes and *too* much action in this movie, unfortunately..

And unfortunately, almost all the reviews are quite bad.... it's really a shame as it had so much potential..

After hearing this and reading what you just wrote along with the reviews, I think I might not watch the first one either if the second one would be that big of a dissapointment.

Well the first one was rather good.... the 2nd one had a lot of potentional, but IMO it didn't live up to it.
If you are a Transformers fan you will absolutely love it (purely for the Optimus Prime action), but if you're a movie fan....

I saw the movie and personally loved it.  yes sure there were sexual jokes in it but I doubt that small children would really clue into it, plus it's not a children movie to start with.  
the action was amazing but the story line was quite weak

Well, I see your point on it not being a kid movie but from the reviews that I've been reading, they should have stuck to the grounds that built the first one.  It seems to me that it was turned completely around but I really don't know since I haven't watched the first one.  People that loved the first one have come talked to me and told me that they were very dissapointed with it.

i just watched it yesterday and i personally thought it was quite okay. it defo wasnt something you would bring lil kids in to watch (the whole theater was full of them). love the CG effects but storyline wise was just meh

From what I have read, pretty much the source of most of the humor that people have groaned about and found offensive came from the mind of third ROTF writer of Ehren Kruger and director Michael Bay. I am sure there is some mix and match from all four but based on the duos previous writing efforts the rumor has validity. I guess depending on your view of the movie's humor, this makes Kruger a new writer to watch or one to avoid.

Somehow this movie didn't even live up to my already low expectations for it. I knew it wasn't that great of a storyline but I guess even I have a tolerance for how much action CGI I can take without any actual story. And 2,5 hours of this crap? I seriously felt like I was just watching someone play a video game, and I hate video games. I couldn't wait for this to come to and end. The first Transformers movie was much better. If the third one is like 'The Fallen' I'm going to check out on that. 1/5
