Long time since I have been on here, but I read all the posts today and it sounds fantastic! I hope the trip goes fantastic! Amtrak called me yesterday and cancelled my trip to Montreal...So now I have to find another way there! How can they schedule track work the one weekend a lot of people are going there more than any other?!?!
Anyways I hope we will all meet up and have a Celineastic time!
Wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed
No more backward thinking time for thinking ahead
The world has changed so very much
From what it used to be
There is so much hatred war and poverty
Wake up all the teachers time to teach a new way
Maybe then they'll listen to what you have to say
Cause they're the ones who's coming up and the world is in their hands
When you teach the children teach them the best you can.
The world won't get no better if we just let it be
The world won't get no better we gotta change it
So make a change www.thehungersite.com

Gracias a mi amiga, Emily!

Full Name?
Willemijn
Where are you coming from?
Traveling from New Hampshire, USA
What dates will you be in Quebec city?
won't be in Quebec City
What shows will you see there?
What dates will you be in Montreal?
I'll arrive in the evening of the 13th, and leaving early in the morning on the 15th. I know, very short, but I have classes and a horrible Greyhound schedule to work with here!
What shows will you see there?
The 14th! Valentines day!
Are you on Facebook, and can I add you as a friend? (again, this can be sent by PM if you like)
Yes I am! It's Willemijn Doedens, which is also my full name I guess. What's the schedule for the 14th as far as meetings go?
Are you interested in coming to a lunch or dinner if it fits into your schedule?
Yes I am!

Did you check greyhound? I'm coming from Boston and that's how I'm getting there. It was pretty cheap too.

Hope you all have a very safe trip into Montreal and enjoy the shows! I'll report back on my experience on the 12th!
By the way - if you need any advice on where to stay, what to eat, how to get there, etc., feel free to ask. I've lived in Mtl for 7 years and am pretty familiar with things. By the way if you're American and driving up here, the signs are all in French but the symbols are mainly the same.... stop, yield, merge, etc. are all basically the same pictures. Just memorize the name of your exit on google maps and you'll be fine! If you cross the border at Lacolle, New York, just head straight after crossing and you'll end up at the Champlain bridge (Point Champlain). Take that onto the island, follow signs into "centre ville" and voila you're in Montreal. Mtl has a small downtown core... just follow Rene Levesque or Sherbrooke street between Atwater and Berri and you're in downtown. If you get lost, just park within that area and walk...basically the whole downtown core is within walking distance. Bell Centre is near Rene Levesque and Guy. Park in that area and you're good to go!

Please answer the following questions so that I may organize enough vehicles for Charlemagne, and confirm our reservation for Nickel's Restaurant. It would be great to know if you think you might hang out with us later as well.
So, please confirm the following:
I will attend the trip to Charlemagne: YES or NO
I will attend the lunch at Nickel's: YES or NO
I think I might spend the whole day/night with the group: YES or NO
PLEASE SEND YOUR RESPONSE ASAP as I need to ensure there are enough vehicles for our trip and I need to fax the confirmation of our reservation to the Nickel's manager by Friday!
Thank you in advance for your early responses.
Celinely yours...always,
Tracy ;)xo

Thanks so much! I really appreciate all of your information!
I looked up the rules about the snow tires and some sites say they are in effect until Feb. 15 and some sited say Apr. 15. So I have no idea. My tires aren't snow tires so I was wondering if when we cross the border would they let us in since we don't have the right tires?
And about Greyhound, since Amtrak cancelled our trip they substituted a Greyhound bus ride. However, we would take a four hour train ride then and additional ten hour bus ride! So that is not cool. If the weather is bad then the bus would be even more delayed.
This is going to be an adventure we get lost driving around in NJ! And the signs are in English! But then again anyone who is from NJ knows how the roads are out here...
P.S. Anyone who speaks French and needs a ride, we have open seats!
