Taylor Swift's New Show Is Over The Top

Taylor Swift is certainly a seasoned performer on stage, as evidenced by her latest outing, which kicked off with a two-night stand Friday in Omaha, Neb and Sunday in Des Moines, IA. Her show, which was previewed during last weekend‘s Nashville dress rehearsal benefit, features pyrotechnics, aerialists, numerous costume changes and an endless supply of hits. And the superstar is drawing applause not only from the sold-out crowds, but also from critics. Country Aircheck notes that topping her elaborate Fearless World Tour would seem a tall order, but the Speak Now show didn‘t just clear the bar, it left it behind in a cloud of spent rocket fuel, while Music Row echoed the crowd‘s deafening roar agreeing that no one walks away disappointed. This weekend the Omaha World Herald called the show near-flawless, taking note of the huge, entertaining production and all [the] moving parts—both the stage itself and all of the dancers and musicians, observing―you always had something to keep your eye on.
The Tennessean called the show astonishing, remarking that the production on the tour is possibly the most elaborate one staged by a Country artist since Garth Brooks flew on wires. But even amidst the elaborate production, Taylor‘s musicianship is not lost on the audience. The superstar plays several different instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, piano and ukulele. She explains to us why she has learned so many instruments, including the guitar. I honestly was raised never, never to expect that you are entitled to success. So you work an extra mile. You go that extra length, explains the 21-year-old singer-songwriter. That‘s why I learned guitar, ’cause I was like you know what, there’s no guarantee that I will make it, there’s not even half a guarantee that I will make it. I‘ve got to learn things that make me different, and I‘ve gotta learn things that make me more interesting.

SHANIA TWAIN AND TAYLOR SWIFT RECREATE ‘THELMA & LOUISE’ FOR CMT MUSIC AWARDS
It was a union of country music superstars as Taylor Swift and Shania Twain recreated a scene from Thelma & Louise for the upcoming CMT Music Awards at Thompson’s Station in Tennessee on Monday (June 6).
While Shania channeled her inner Louise (the role first made famous by Susan Sarandon) behind the wheel of a Thunderbird Convertible, Taylor played the role of fumbling sidekick Thelma (Geena Davis).
The 2011 CMT Music Awards is set to air on Wednesday (June 8 ) at 8pm EST on CMT Country Music TV.
Shania, whose last appearance at the annual Country Music Television bash came seven years ago, will also present an award at the star-studded ceremony.
The Canadian-born chanteuse recently announced that she will release her first single in six years, Today (Is Your Day) in June. Shania is planning to return to the studio this year to complete work on her fifth studio album.

‘GLEE’ STAR CHORD OVERSTREET TEAMS WITH TAYLOR SWIFT, OTHERS FOR CMT AWARDS MONTAGE

M Street in Nashville got a bit more cheerful on Sunday night when cast members of the hit Fox show Glee — Cory Monteith (Finn), Mark Salling (Puck) and Nashville native Chord Overstreet (Sam) — strolled into Virago for dinner and then Whiskey Kitchen for a few cocktails.
And yes, even though they all play high school students, in real life, they are of legal drinking age.
The three stars — who are currently crossing the country on the 2011 Glee Live Tour — took a quick detour to Music City, and our inside sources at CMT confirmed that while in town, Overstreet taped a special segment with Taylor Swift, Shania Twain and a few other surprise celebrities to be used in the opening montage at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.
Sadly the Glee guys are not expected to be in attendance at the awards, as they have a tour date booked in Philadelphia on the same night.
Catch all the celebrities and the shenanigans when the 2011 CMT Music Awards air live on the network starting at 7 p.m. Central on Wednesday, June 8.
ahhh Taylor Swift and Shania Twain!

finding a good vocalist is very easy. watch Idol and you'll find MILLIONS. but a great/relatable songwriter is a RARITY.

^ Yes I wouldn't say that I wasn't all that happy about the songs they put on, but at the same time there are songs that I would have loved to have on CD.
I was kind of hoping that there would be a little more on DVD, but then we can't have everything I suppose. Having said that, I enjoyed it

^ i have it too, and IMO it' a really good concert DVD. picture and sound quality are top notch. about the song selection, my only complaint is the exclusion of the hits from her debut album. Tim McGraw, Picture to Burn, and her first crossover hit, Teardrops on My Guitar. other than that, i'm very much satisfied with this release.
her live singing deserves some applause also. she sounded great all throughout. she sounded best in her acoustic numbers (Fearless/Hey Soul Sister/I'm Yours, Last Kiss, Drops of Jupiter).
the DVD is a good representation of how much effort Taylor put in this tour. i'm already excited to see what she's gonna do next!

I am a Taylor Swift fan as well. Love all her releases from "Red". Probably my favorite song of hers is "Teardrops In My Guitar" as I had a similar situation in the past.

I have! It's cute!
I was so into WANEGBT and now I really like 22. I hope she doesn't get a country backlash as she's promoting her poppy singles.

I don't think and see how it will but as long as she write her own songs (and maybe a cover or 2) I'm happy

I love Taylor Swift (my age says it all lol) but she's no where near Celine on a vocal level. I relate to her music very well.My least favorite album from her is the new one, Red. I like a lot of songs from it but, i don't know, her earlier albums were more personal.
