He’s got an album out so imagine it’s going to be about that, but perhaps we’ll get a Céline-related tidbit?

Barnev said he hasn't heard much from Celine and when asked if he'd join her again if she gets back on stage, interestingly, he said he doesn't think so, that he has "turned the page" and moved on...

Well, I wish Barnev the best of luck in his new career. If he has decided to move on, it is perfectly fine for him.
Céline has a lot of singers wanting to be part of his band and be part of his backing singers.
When she is back they will surely be part of her band.
Élise will stay with her as well as the rest.
All our wishes regarding Céline and Céline's wishes will come true.
It is getting less and less.

Barnev has been more than lucky, because he has been for many, many years singing with the best singer in the world.
Nobody can say the same, so I really wish him good luck as I said before.

I think most here agree that Barnev is not the greatest singer in the world and certainly not irreplaceable, and Céline will probably find someone technically better for the job.

That being said, I do think Barnev is talented and I have to say I’m going to miss him — he always came across as such a kind, loving person — and over the years some fans, including myself, have developed a sort of emotional connection with him just like with other prominent longtime band members. It’s bittersweet.

Omg he just always irritated me. Terry Bradford too. The only male backup vocalist she has that was good was Maurice Davis. Terry was just way too over the top, and I think Barnev got way too much spotlight for mediocrity.

Barnevs comment was quite arrogant. It’s as if he was resentful towards Celine. It’s interesting how quickly people can forget what a one of a lifetime opportunity they were given when working with the greatest superstar for so many years. Now that she is struggling with her own health and cannot provide him with work for the moment he is turning the page. But maybe he was fired and Celine already got new backup singers when rehersing for the new Vegas residency before her illness.

Amazing, this would be epic. What a visionary you are!
I would love to see this happen.I agree that you can love the band members because it's been so many years.
But to be honest I love the band that Celine currently has. I would miss Élise, Scott Price, Kaven....
I love the chemistry with them, especially with Kaven.
Céline loves Élise a lot, that's very noticeable and the most important thing is that they both admire and respect each other.
Talking about Scott Price, for me he is without a doubt the best director Céline could have. You can see that chemistry with him too. He seems very happy, proud, to be the director of Céline's band and obviously to work with her.

No he wasn’t fired at least not during rehearsals. He took part in them. Listen, I don’t blame him for trying to have his own career, however all the opportunity and credibility that Celine gave him is part of the reason he’s able to try and take off on his own now.

He may be rubbed the wrong way, because he maybe finding out updates on Celine the same way we do; if I were in his place I wouldn’t like that since I’m part of her team.

Some of us remember his petulant social media updates during the last part of her residency and during the tour where he would make bratty, vague posts complaining about his job and then when questioned on it would say he was talking about something else. Sure Jan.

Most of us didn’t care about your solo interludes and couldn’t wait until the person we paid to see got back on stage.

I won’t miss him either… his parts were convenient If you needed another drink or to go to the restroom. So you wouldn’t miss any CELINE!

It’s time for him to go.

However, it wouldn’t surprise me that after Rene passed away, things like pay day didn’t run as smooth as they should. My uncle knew Rene personally, and said how he always made the point to not keep anyone waiting on what they are owed and always was so generous with others.

Off topic, but another little tad bit of Rene, he was known to stop by the local Henderson NV,Subway and order a couple of deli sandwiches to go, ALWAYS leaving each worker there a crisp Benjamin.

I must say I’m a bit shocked the amount of people that didn’t like Barnev. I do agree there are probably better people at this point, but he’s been with her so long. How long have her other backup singers been with her? I know one or two of them have been with her since at least the early 90s. I hope this isn’t a sign that all of them are being replaced either

Well, Elise is married to Denis, who is the “co-manager” in addition to being the sound guy (so knows all of Celine’s skeletons in the closet 😉), and thus probably safe.
