But let's not dwell from this topic, or hell will reign upon us..
It's nice to see such "open" articles/interviews finally....

you're right. This article is very interesting
I'm glad that Celine is aware of how dramatic are her gesture. Now it's a first step to make them "softer"
I'm a little worried about her hand shaking, this kind of info make me feel so terrified that something could happen to her
I really wish her to have another child, even if for us it would announce a kind of "little retirement" that wouldn't please our fan attitude
LOL

Very nice article/interview indeed! Bottom line is that she's going to take a year off, weather she has a baby or not. And that's great for her.
Shaky hands...
Thank God it's nothing bad. Stress always has strage ways of making its presence felt. Hers is having shaky hands. I guess it will go away once she takes the break and relaxes.

I also got that vibe from the article, as if she meant to say that she is in fact retiring after the tour..?
(Though that doesn't mean she couldn't record an album or two every once in a while.

Anyway that article is interesting but pretty much muddled - I suppose because Celine talked to him in a rather chaotic way. Looks like it.
I agree with you on that, the article is very interesting for sure, but also kinda confusing/muddled. I was also about to ask if any of you found it a bit weird. I mean the things they are saying, or the way they are saying them.. Like the hand shaking thing, and talking about retiring, and everything..
Oh, and once again, they're talking about still adding a few dates after the supposed-to-be-the-last-date in Montréal?? I don't get it.

Thanks Jacqui for that article, it's very interesting.
Of course it would be great if someday she would do some kind of 'all request" type of show.
The hand shaking thing makes me a little nervous. It's probably from stress. She did not take that much of a break from her last show in December 07 until her tour started in February 08. To me it was not even really a break since you figure she had to prepare for her world tour show. The world tour is a lot harder because she has to travel, which in itself is highly stressful.
I get tired myself just looking at her tour schedule!
I think she should take off at least a year, maybe two, before she does anything more. I think she needs and deserves it.

pfffffffff what is that nonsense about 'retiring'? Cher did her farewell tour in 2004 and she's now performing in Ceasars Palace... Tina Turner did her Farewell Tour years ago, but this year she's starting again... plus The Rolling Stones are doing their Farewell tour since 1834! I don't think Céline will ever stop performing

She's not saying she's retiring people! She's saying that, if she was to take it much easier than now, she would do a show every now and then, record an album once in a while etc.
Yes, according to the article, Rene admitted the concert on February 13 is not the last on the tour. Apparently he said the tour will end sometime later in February, in Quebec City or at Bell Center.

Yeah I really don't think she will retire anytime soon. She make take some breaks, but she's still young and likes to perform and sing.

It seems like one article or interview, Céline is excited, having a great time, and doing exactly what she wants - performing and touring the world. Then in another later on, like this one, she is tired, stressed, and looking forward to her upcoming break.
Now, everyone is allowed to have off days, and maybe in one interview she’s tired and stressed and in another she’s having a great time. But I for one thought that she would take a much longer (much deserved) break after Vegas to try for a baby. Instead she went straight into tour rehearsals. Not only that, she has said she wanted to actually see the world this time around. In some cases, she did get to, but in most cases it's get on the plane to the next city --- go, go, go.
Her hands shaking really worries me, but I have to believe she has it under control, and her doctors are taking care of her. I feel guilty sometimes for never wanting her to stop. But I know if she decided to stop tomorrow, I would understand. I don't want her to keep performing for us if it's no longer something that brings her joy. I hope she knows how much we care for her, and that we will support her in each and every way.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on that much...

I understand what you mean Ashley. I think she just does feel torn between her career and family. Some days she's loving it, seeing the world and singing for her fans, other days she's just tired and would rather curl up in a ball. Most of us are like that, but with her hectic lifestyle, she probably experiences more extreme emotions. I thought she'd take a break after vegas too, and she probably should have- but at least she's still planning to do it!
It worries me too, the thing about her hands, but she does have the best Doctors on Earth....I guess she has to trust them, and we have to trust her to take care of herself.
Reamary, I'm sending you a PM now...

When I first heard about the TC tour almost immediately after Vegas, I brought up concerns on this forum for Celine's health & well-being. It's sad that we are now hearing about Celine's hands trembling, because severe stress is dangerous. I had, and still have really, a fear that Celine will have a breakdown and not be able to continue the tour. She's made it until now, and so I hope and pray she continues to manage her stress in some way. I think she may be doing that now by keeping the image of having another child in her head and looking forward to that much needed break.
You guys might not believe me or like what I have to say, but Celine can quit right now if she wants and I won't be disappointed. I have tickets for 4 more shows and I might be getting more, but at this time it wouldn't matter to me if I lost that money or missed the entertainment. I have so much respect and love for Celine and all that she has already given her fans, and I care more about her remaining sane and healthy in every way. Please, please stay well Celine!!!

Exactly. I'm happy she's planning on taking a break... but she planned to take a break after three years in Vegas, then she signed on for two more. Then after Vegas she was going to take a break... then the tour. Not that I'm not ecstatic to have seen her more times in Vegas because she stayed longer... and not that I'm not thrilled to see her on tour next month... I just hope she really takes the time she obviously needs if her stress level is that high, after the tour is over. Stop adding dates, and give her next year starting in mid-Feb, off. Let her rest. She’s only human.
Like I said before, sometimes in interviews we get the "tired Céline" and in others we get "upbeat Céline". It could just depend on her mood, or maybe it's just her putting on a happy face for her fans.
I’ve wondered about that since seeing the recording of “My Love”…
I suppose we just have to hope that she is well, she is doing this tour because she wants to, and that she will (although we will miss her terribly) take a much needed break next year.

You know, I don't think she's so much 'putting on a happy face', as looking for the best in life, even when she feels bad. She's always been quite honest about her feelings, her flaws, her doubts, everything. But she's a very positive person in her attitude. Even at the worst of times she seems to have some kind of strength...I don't know how to word this...she just appreciates everything for all it's worth. Hey, I could be wrong, but that's just the way I've always seen her
Now I'm worrying too, about her having a breakdown. The thought hadn't really entered my mind before. I know she could stop the tour right now if she wanted to, and if her health was at stake, I sure hope she would stop and put herself first! (Besides, did she actually say the problem with her hands is constant, or is it just something that has been happening on and off for years? When I had anxiety problems I would get shaky sometimes but it came and went...
) Anyway, as much as I feel sorry for her, I can't believe that she's deeply unhappy about everything. I read an interview with Rene a few days ago where he said that ever since she was a child, he has always let her make the final decision on everything, about what she would or would not do. So this was her choice. Besides, it's probably useless that we're sitting here worrying because she seems so happy these past few days, being back in Montreal and performing for her people!

You're right... we should calm down. I just got concerned because she's never mentioned stress related shaking of the hands before...
I didn't mean she's not honest --- she's always been, as she says, "an open book". I just meant maybe she doesn't want to complain and say, "I'm tired." or "I'm stressed." I know she appreciates everything, and I think being back home for a couple of weeks will lift her spirits high... if they need lifting, we're probably just overracting as usual. But that just means we care!

I know, it concerned me too. Maybe she just never thought to mention it before, or she didn't want people to worry? Obviously she doesn't think of it as something to hide or a big secret.
And you're right, that's what I was trying to say- that she doesn't like to complain. But I don't think she is as deeply unhappy and/or fake as some people (not you!) want to think she is either.
I guess when you love someone, you can't help but worry to some extent
My thoughts probably seem like random crap in this thread, I'm just trying to make sense of it all, sorry.

I think too that if she really didn't want to start a world tour, she wouldn't have. But in many interviews she's been saying that she couldn't have just stopped after Vegas and just "be", she needs to keep herself busy and going on, all the time.
And she seems that way in many of the extra bites in all the dvd's too, she just seems so crazy and full of energy and life, and almost always having the best time! Then again there are also bites where she clearly expresses her tiredness and seems very down and sad.
But that's how we all are, like you said Jacqui. If she was sad and down most of the time and performing wouldn't be fun for her anymore, I'm sure she would stop it. At least it can't be an economical question at this point anymore, and again like she has said herself, she doesn't need to do this.
Though of course, you can suddenly become just too stressed and if you're in the middle of the tour already, things being signed and tickets sold, you probably can't stop just that easily, only because you don't find it fun anymore. So in that case, I think, it's of course possible to have a breakdown or something, when you're forced to keep on performing, although you're very tired and stressed...
Well, I don't know either what am I really talking about here, I think the purpose of this thread wasn't to start going on and on about breakdowns, but I just wanted to take part into this discussion and give an opinion.
