Anyone heard about this 15 year old girl from the Philipines? That voice! :o
She's a fan of Whitney, Mariah and....Céline! David Foster has recently discovered her and brought her to the US....

she is great...though sometimes it annoys me when she sings witht a "throat voice"..lol..I don't know how to describe it..

She's a rising star here in the Philippines and yes, David Foster has been busy introducing her to everyone as "my new baby". She recently performed at an MGM branch opening w/ the likes of Josh Groban and Alicia Keys. She's been to Oprah, Ellen and the Paul O'Grady show in the UK where she got a standing ovation, something Mariah Carey didn't when she promoted her latest album on the same show. :giggle:

There's no doubt she's talented but she needs to work on her originality and I also agree with what nano said about her tendency to be "throaty" w/c makes her slur her lyrics sometimes. She won't make it by trying to sound like somebody else. But then again, she's only 15 w/c means she has the luxury of time to learn to sing w/ her OWN voice and soul.

I heard her studio version of ''I Have Nothing'' and she really sounds horrible and awfully throaty. She shouldn't have covered a song from the untouchable Crackney Houston!

She's on Oprah today.  I think Charice tries too hard.  If she wants to strive as an international sensation, it has to be believable.  And it's not quite there yet . . . but let's wait and see.

I think she's talented and all and it's not like many people can sing that well, but I guess I'm not much of a fan.
