No. We are not “cherry picking.” We are choosing to do our best to honor an agreement made with the person who sold the tape to begin with. Why should that not be respected? People who were not interested in the campaign to obtain them, but want to reap the benefits, even after everything was politely explained multiple times, yet still press on that WE are the ones who are wrong. Sorry, no. I’m going to defend the organizers and all of the people who made this happen (with exclusion of the person who breached our trust).

Of course these tracks would have been leaked eventually, but we still had hope that we could trust the small group of people who were involved in this from the beginning, and I don’t think that is something that should be mocked, or disparaged.

You are not getting the point. Imagine none of you were part of this agreement. Then the links to the songs would have been all over the forum.

Well...we can just listen to the songs y'all paid for since they're easily available on the internet. Personally, I don't ever plan on listening to them again. Once was enough. I'm happy Falling Into You went in a different direction. I highly doubt it would've won Album of the Year if it had these three bland cover songs on them.

I guess that when it's personal, well it's personal.
The thing is that I'm thankful to those who participated in the campaign. I actually don't even know exactly what this campaign was, but still, thank you. The thing is that someone decided to leak the songs. And well, I haven't been as excited as I've been for so long about Celine. Her voice right now is just meh to me, this hot potato in the mouth is a big no for me. But listening to Celine's 1994-1996 voice brings back so many memories. She was the voice to me, much more than Whitney or Mariah. And I can imagine how those songs would have been as a finished product. At least two of them would have been amazing.
The question is: was the leaker wrong to do so? I don't know. Without leakers, we would not have Is Nothing Sacred Anymore for example. Snippets of the songs have already been around for some time now. So fight your wars with the leaker, or the greedy one who got y'all to pay $12,000 (?). But the songs are out...
There's also so many things that we as fans of Celine's voice, Celine's career could talk about, like we can hear Phil Spector ranting at some point. But I guess, that when your money is involved, we're not fans anymore, just owners.

People need to understand these were demos. Saying "I'm so glad they went another direction" is very naive when these are literally very rough work tapes on low quality formats.


And it's not like Phil Spector was commissioned to write and produce the whole record. If all you heard of Falling Into You were demos of 3 random songs, you wouldn't get an accurate picture of the work.

Let's use some logic here.

he was giving Celine's a new direction, a new sound, i can say some of theme are very newage, special  the song What Am I To Do

and Tonight I'll See The Morning With Him is almost like Enya meeting Celine

is not FIY album, but other side work

For better or worse, I do not think the purchase of these tapes can properly be described as a campaign. But that's semantics, as I think all fans should be very grateful to hear them. 1990s Celine Dion is one of music's ultimate treasures.

As I said before, I think a lot of people are disapoint because of the high expectations they put into it because of the "legendary status" the songs got over the years (+ the story of the recording sessions and the variations of it).
Personally I feel so grateful to hear them and the more I listen to it, the more I get obssessed with it and can imagine the final result. Phil Spector could have done (in English) kind of the same thing Jean-Jacques Goldman did for her french repertoire/career : give her timeless songs and a real ambiance/direction. (Not saying FIY is missing those 2 points, I love the album as it is)
I don't know if it's just me, but each song has a little something special and stays quickly in your head (lyrics and melody) and even with the demo tape quality you can feel the magic of it. And Celine's voice is so

Anyway, Thank you for the campain, without it the songs would have stayed in the vault, and even if I'm sad for you that someone from the group betrayed your trust/agreement , I'm so happy as a random fan to finally ear those songs.

The more I listen to the songs, the more I like them... Especially "Is this what I get...". I catch  myself singing it along the day...
Of course I understand they are not finished, and now I think the songs had great potential to be very good.

About the leaking situation, I feel sorry for the ones involved in the agreement... And I'm really grateful to their efforts, without them we would not be able to hear the songs...

To finally hear one of the Spector songs in full, after so many years of hype, is really quite an experience - his production and her vocals would’ve set the world on fire, love the demo and so wish we could’ve gotten a full and final version.

What do you mean by the forum need moderator?  There was no moderator left in this forum? To be honest, I’m also mod but I’ve been away for year. Just came to visit as I heard a leak of unreleased track been posted here.

The mods are not showing up on the forum to do their moderator job. People are having to wait very long time to get replies or to have new threads approved, etc. Certain posts that should be deleted are not deleted, etc.

Well you can't know something is dead if you don't come around to check lol. There are multiple mods who, if they have their emails set up, would have known it is not dead. It has been very frustrating.

Or we should have a new mod? There are a lot of fixing here in this forum. Like the attachments. If it’s full you can’t delete it. Only the mods can do something about it and maybe have a new look in this forum?

Many other fan groups have Discords. I get the feeling that is too Gen Z for this forum, but I think some forum improvements could be made--including in the mod department.

Attaching photos is such a hassle, you're right. And why can only mods delete comments?
