Scores of people who spent R900 to get the best view of Celine Dion at her concert at the Absa Stadium in Durban on Wednesday, left the show cursing after being denied entry into the special enclosure.

Angry fans phoned The Independent on Saturday to complain about how they had been short-changed by the organisers of the show after being denied entry into the Golden Circle "because they had the wrong tickets".

One of the affected fans, Urishka Dubock, said she had been so keen to see Dion perform that she bought her ticket for R898 from Mr Price in August last year.

This week she experienced the disappointment of her life, when she was told her ticket did not qualify her for entry into the Golden Circle.

She said the people manning the entrance to the Golden Circle told her, together with scores of other people with similar tickets, they could not get into the enclosure because their tickets were printed with Absa Golden Circle Stands and not simply Absa Golden Circle and that they therefore had to sit in the main stands, where tickets had been sold for prices ranging from R295 to R595
.

Eventually she moved away and could not get anywhere to sit throughout the stadium since even the ordinary seats in the main stands were already full.

So she eventually found somewhere to stand for the entire show.

Dubock said when she phoned organisers of the show, Ticket Connection, on Thursday to complain about what had happened to her, she was told to put her complaint in writing through e-mail.

Yesterday Kevin Naidoo, Ticket Connection's regional manager for KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, said his organisation was not to blame for the chaos at the stadium, and blamed stadium ushers for taking fans to wrong places.

A spokesperson for Mr Price said they were only a ticket selling agent, and had nothing to do with the organisation of the show.
