Another small adjustment, each time the singer was to go to change, the scene was plunged one moment in the darkness. And one had less the impression that the eight dancers were in the legs of the musicians and Celine, even if their contribution is probably appreciated with its right value only on the central scene.

I mean, every Celine's fan, who has heard to many, many of her live performances and who perfectly knows her album version, can easily say that in this latest concert bootleg of The power of love, Celine does the same thing she had been doing in Las Vegas shows - she sings the first verse live and then starting from the first chorus ('cause I'm your lady... and till the end of this song) we hear the Colour of my love studio recording played back.
I mean, you can instantly hear the dramatic change in her voice between her having sung the whispers in the morning... LIVE, HERE and NOW, and what comes next when the playback studio recording begins - that voice of 15 (!) years back.
Wasn't it easier to record some recent FULL LIVE version of this song and lipping this recent pre-recorded The power of love instead of this weird mixture of live+studio?
Sergey, please check your private messages.
Thank you.

Me too! From the clips I've seen so far, it looks live everything is cramped into a small stage and it almost looks boring [maybe because i know there's going to be a bigger production down the road].
I am thrilled just thinking about what the show will hopefully evolve to... I've heard some pretty cool rumors...

I have just seen the clip and was coming on here to post the same thing. I have been a big fan of Celine since 1991 when someone bought me her 2nd English album, Celine Dion (which is why I'm so glad she continues to do Love Can Move Mountains in concert - it's always been one of my faves and has connections for me dating back to college) and I must say that I don't necessarily mind that she's lip-synching a bit these days. She is almost 40 after all and, being a singer myself, I know that your voice changes over time. But it is DEFINITELY obvious that after the first verse it switches to the album track. I wish they would just lower the key instead though like they did for All By Myself, My Heart Will Go On and I Surrender (each has been a half a step lower than the album track since she started doing them live - a very normal occurance for singers to do when singing live).
Also, after watching the clip of Taking Chances, I'm pretty sure it switches to the album track right before the big note on "Whaddaya SAY to jumping off the edge". From there on it, it's the track (or at least until it goes back down into her lower register). They try to hide it by having the backup singers get REALLY loud.

if you listen, it's not TCOML version...the live version is pre-recorded and taken down either a half step or full step..it's lower in tone, just listen to it...they can't have Celine start the song in one key with live vocals and then have it be a completely different key throughout the rest of the song..and it's not.....not only did we have complaints about when she lipsynchs..but now you are creating a new monster by saying she's using the album tracks for certain parts of the songs..that's a little insane..get over yourselves and just enjoy it

Now, going back and watching the clip again (because I'm fascinated over exactly where the switch is and what it is), I agree with you. This last time I watched it I thought, at the beginning, that sounds a half a step lower when she's singing it live. However, being in the music business, I also know that it's extremely easy to lower a track by half a step or more or to raise it. Hello, even in Kareoke clubs they can change the track that you're singing to by raising it or lowering it a step or two or 4.
I don't get why people get bothered by the Celine lip-synching issue. So many singers do it and GREAT ones at that. It's a fact of the business. It doesn't make her bad or less of a singer or any of that. I still love her and always will. When my heart was shattered to pieces the last time, I just couldn't listen to music much but Celine was the only music that I could still stomach (which is my roommate's make fun of me - for about 9 months I didn't listen to anything BUT her)

Ok, this whole thing about her lipping to the ALBUM version of any song during a world tour is kinda absurd. We all can appreciate that you've listened to an album track so many times, though it's obvious that you haven't listened to the album track from "Live a Paris" or "A New Day..." DVD. She's not switching from live to an album version of TPOL, nor of ANY song... sure, she may lip to previous recorded live tracks, or "switch" back and forth, but not to an album version... sheeessh! I can dig the talks about lipping to other live tracks, but NOT the lipping to album versions on a world tour....

ha ha ha ha ha so true!!!! All singers and performers are different... when Ms. Minoque decides to sing some more songs that require the use of her heart and soul and not endless pop dribble, then people can make comments like that. But I like her stuff anyway.... LOL

But lip-synch the whole song (or a couple during a show) if you need or wish, not part of it.
