the first celine record/music that i brought was The colour of My Love on casette. Story behind it, is that my big sis borrowed TCoML tape from someone after linking the power of love and think twice. Me n my sis found it in her room, and put it on to listen while major tidying our room.We really liked it, but only side A at the time, so we kept rewinding and listening. Dunno what happened to that copy so we brought another one. I still remember we got home and read the inside cover, thought the message for René was really nice.
After that I saw TOTP think twice performance and became a fan! I brought the Only One Road single (the classic coverwith celine leaning against the wooden beam) out of my dinner money that week, and then the collection began!
I dunno if we're just this sad, but we arrange oue albums in chronological order?!

Falling Into You cassette by my neighbor. I was 8 years old and all I ever heard on the radio was BYLM and IACBTMN. She eventually gave me the CD and since then, all I've ever listened to is Celine. I never knew anything of Celine before that (I couldn't even spell Celine for that matter). I remember seeing her do this big interview with Diane Sawyer at the time and I instantly became a fan. Sometimes it was depressing though because I was too young to afford any of her albums, but I'm making up for all those years now.

hahhaa i do that too - pah!
My 1st celine cd was falling into you single, i bought it coz id heard loads of celine before like think twice and i LOVED only one road (my dad had the colour of my love album) and id heard pour que tu m'aimes encore on the radio and I was like....what the hell is thats ong its amazing!!! and It was about the same time as falling into you was being released. So i went to look at the single for falling into you and noticed that on both cds there was a french song and i was like...."one of these must be 'the one" haha. So i got the one that said 'le ballet' on it and just hoped.....It wasnt it obviously haha. and i didnt really like le ballet and had never even heard falling into you before (u know the actual song i was supposed to be buying the single for) haha...but i ended up loving falling into you and bought the album and was soooo extatic to find 'if thats what it takes' being the english version of 'that french song' id heard on the radio - still one of my fav songs now...

Haha! So I'm not the only one!!
At first I used to arrange them in order of purchase and then, after MUCH deliberation, I decided to arrange them chronologically. How tragic!!
I can reassure myself that it was just because I was young...
Of course, I still do the same thing today, but only because it has become a habit...
That's okay, isn't it??

My first cd was S'il Suffisait D'aimer, which I got as a birthday present. The song that first captivated my attention was SSDA, and later En Attendant Ses Pas. Anyhow, that album is still among my very favorites. It's got plenty of significance to me.
**How did you know that I would play the part?
I must have I made it clear right from the start**

I think my very, very first one was Falling into you - I asked my dad for it after hearing her songs on the radio.
I must have been really young, because I rememeber getting the Spice Girls CD and Falling into you on the same birthday.
I had to re-buy that album because It got so scratched up, but I still have my first original copy.

I've bought everything she realesed from that point...later I also bought the CD of Falling Into You of course...

Wow this topic has taken me back!! I can barely remember a day when i did not know who Celine Dion was!! The day i discovered her was when Beauty and the beast started to have radio play over here in the UK.That song being my first Celine single i bought as soon as it came out in the shops. The first album was the Celine Dion self titled album on cassette tape! And it snapped after a couple of months as i played it constantly!!
That was the beginning of my addiction, long may it continue

My first Céline purchase was in 1992 (I was 10) - the US CD Single of "If You Asked Me To" (still one of my all-time favourites) which had "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" as the second track.

After that was the "Nothing Broken But My Heart" cassette single...... Then the whole "Céline Dion" album on CD...... and the rest is history..... :-)
-tim.

My first Celine record that I got was Let's Talk About Love. The only reason I got it was because it had My Heart Will Go On on it. That was the song that even made me consider listening to Celine. It was back in '97 and I was 8 years old. I was into everything and anything that had to do with the Titanic, including the movie soundtrack. So, I get the CD and the very first track I listen to was MHWGO. I was like "HOLY S**T!! THAT WOMAN HAS SOME VOICE!!!!" Then, I had to have Celine's LTAL CD. So, again, the first song I listened to was MHWGO. And I fell in love with the song and the singer. In September of '99, I found out that Celine was going to play Columbus, OH on her LTAL Tour. And I also found out that it was said to be SOLD OUT!!!! I was crushed. I went to school and my mind wandered all day. My mom came and picked me and my sister up as usual and said "How would you guys like to go to Columbus?" She then surprised me and my sister with 3 tickets to Celine's concert that night!!!! I'll never forget it as long as I live!!! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES CELINE!!!

Well, it was early 1996, I was almost 9. My mother has just heard "Because You Loved Me' on the radio and wanted to find some more Celine songs. We bought a compilation (not official, I think) of ballads. The first Celine song I heard was 'Think Twice'. Then I fell in love with IACBTMN & TPOL.

Just like a lot of you, "Falling Into You" was my first Celine Dion album on casette
because I didn't get a cd player until Christmas of 1998. I was on the school bus
and it was almost summer and I heard "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" almost every day.
It really became annoying to hear the song so much, but I really loved the voice of the woman singing it.
I don't know how many times I had to hear the song on the radio before
they said who she was. I remembered the name Celine Dion and went to Target
to look for an album with that song, and there it was! I played it many times
every day and learned the words very quickly. That tape eventually
got eaten up by my tape player, but before that a friend of mine borrowed it
and it took forever before she found it and remembered to give it back!
Thankfully I had gone out and bought her self titled album after that which was my second album
then "Let's Talk About Love" on cassette as well. All casettes were replaced by cd's after they got eaten by my
tape player. I have had more than one crappy player. I still do collect any rare cassette tapes I come across
such as ones with rare songs and singles.
I have all the English cd's and almost all of the French albums and still looking for four more albums.
My first French album I asked my brother to get me was "The Collection" made in Holland
and it has every French hit on there two cd's worth.
I didn't know about her French music
until about 1998 when I discovered the internet and her official site.
You can try and take me to seek help, but it won't work, because Celine is an addiction
that will NEVER be cured and shouldn't be!!!
Just hearing or reading her name somewhere makes me stop to pay attention.

* December 18, 2008. 1st time ever in front row for a concert and it was with my idol Celine!
Dream #1 accomplished.
While singing a ballad the only time Celine looked at me was the time I had my sign up luckily!
She stretched out her arm palm faced up while singing with even more emotion in her eyes when she saw it, so it seemed like it was just for me at that moment.
Dream #2 accomplished with the extra bonus!
She came and left on my side. I went out 1 row, held up my sign and she stopped, held it herself,
and just looked at it with an awe expression on her face, stunned and amazed when she saw all the glitter!
She looked me in the eyes with those beautiful brown eyes of hers she was tuned into me at that moment and didn't look away, again her looking so emotional as I said with a sincere look on my face to her "It took me 5 hours to make this." (could have been more not sure)
She looked down and away very touched like maybe she wanted to cry then she HUGGED me!!!
She held me for more than just a moment She really took her time! I said to her while about to cry from the hug, "I love you so much!" Then that was it I don't think she said a word to me.
I was crying and saying omg all night with my heart racing and my mind in SHOCK from the unexpected hug and my eyes so sore from crying. I was ready to drop when I got home, but was so emotional I stayed up until 6:30 a.m.! Cried a little for a few days after. Sign and front row seat saved the day!
Dream #3 accomplished... Me at :13 NOT my video.

My very first Celine album I got was a Russian quasi-official compilation (I guess it was pirate) but at the time (early 1997) there were no official CDs in my country at all. I bought the cd because it had IACBTMN, BYLM and MHWGO, so mostly the songs I was familiar with. When I listened to it at home, I was so dissappointed because IACBTMN was a chopped "radio version" meaning it was short because they chopped off the beginning and end so it only had the middle dramatic part. I just adored that song, I have seen the video and had the song on tape with the likes of BYLM and ABM which I got hold of thanks to a friend working at a radio station. So you can imagine how angry I was. Anyway, my very first "normal" Celine album was FIY which my dad got me for my birthday in 1999. How, I have no clue, since there were still no original cds but this one was and I was so happy and proud. Then that same year I got LTAL for Christmas... and so on...

Unison, was my first official Celine Dion purchase, I felt a connection to her music when I heard"Where does my Heart Beat now" I wasn't a huge fan at first , but then I started buying each of her Cd's as they were released , and I was pleasantly surprised, I fell in love with her more and more with each CD. My children adore her, and her music actually soothed my colic son when he was 2 months old!!So funny, My Heart will Go On, who ever thought that this would calm a crying baby!, Of course I haven't missed a CD since. I think my favorite is Lets Talk About Love, with One Heart coming in second. However, Taking chances is certainly moving it's way up there!!
By the way, any more old fogeys like myself here..LOL Just kidding, I notice that many of you were born in the 80's, I was a 60's gal.

That's funny. the first album for me was also Falling Into You. Then Let's Talk About Love. and after that, more albums were added to my collection. And thus begins my path to being a Celine Dion addict.

Therefore I think Taking Chances is her best album ever!!

Her "A New Day....Live In Las Vegas" CD. It was while I was in Canada last August. I had heard My Heart Will Go On before, and saw the CD, and bought it. My aunt suggested I should buy it, since she likes Celine. We listened to it in the car, and I loved it. Then, while still in Canada, we bought One Heart(which was eh besides a few tracks) and Falling into You(which was amazing). Then I kept listening to more and more songs, and became a huge Celine fan.
The only Celine CD I don't own is her Celine Dion CD.
