I just went to a record store here in Costa Rica and bought the regular CD and the CD/DVD editions! OMG it's amazing!!!! And the DVD... just great (but to be honest with you, she sang "I Surrender" much better when I saw her this past October   ), the bonus features of the DVD are also amazing and will make you cry! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeeeeyyyyy! I got it! I received the Japanese edition from HMV Japan yesterday, in just one day after it was shipped    
I love it, I love it, I love it! The only thing: they could have put Map To My Heart somewhere in the middle of the album, and close with Skies of LA, for all versions, and totally leave out The Reason I Go On. Not that is bad, it's just not good enough. The music is fine, but the lyrics are so so common. But it's an amazing, amazing album! Songs take turns at obssesing me, so I can't choose a favourite, beside That's Just the Woman in Me, which is, for me one of the best songs ever recorded, in general, not just Celine. I'm so happy she recorded it. BTW, here you can read an article about the album in general, in French. Celine says she cried after the second take, because she strained her voice so  much. Rene says Celine was involved in everything, from choosing the songs, to creating the cover and booklet and mixing songs. He says she would tell them to remove instruments, or add etc. And Celine tells a little nice story about her brothers and sisters and father smoking joints and listening to Janis Joplin. Wooo Hooo!

I just cracked more codes in Da Céline Code that is Taking Chances:

She's really taking a step for the envirnment trhough the entire album, look:

The frist thing she belts out after singing the Trach Can song is that she's questioning to how she'll get through Alone.
And then she calls for our attention again telling us to keep our Eyes On Me (her) while she's instructing us how to do.
Then she wants to have Rene backing her up and she adresses him with the song My Love.
Then shortage for Shadow Of Love - is SOL and hold on guys - sol means sun in Swedish!! Freaky uh??   She's telling us to praise the sun in a hidden message only to be decoded by her oh so smart Swedish fans!
Then she goes on saying:

"Surprise, Surprise just when you though you had this album figered out surprise, surpriiiiise!!! And now This Time really saying enough of all this ignorence, coz if you want to see A New Dawn you gotta listen up coz this is A Song For You. And give me A World To Believe In coz I Can't Fight The Feelin' that I Got Nothin' Left. And I don't wanna be Right Next To The Right One and watch him just Fade Away through the Skies Of L.A. Now you know, that's the woman in me, working on you! Working on you!!"

Having listened to the album for the first time, I got to the following conclusions:
- If this had been the follow-up to "Falling Into You" and "Let's Talk About Love," it would have joined their league and sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
- The album is completely listenable, I wouldn't skip over any tracks.
- This is the first Celine album that I really did not like the first single, but with so many wonderful songs, that makes up for it.
- This album will lighten up the Grammy Awards in 2009.

Vito Luprano says Taking Chances is Sony BMG's biggest launch this year and that they estimate sales between 4 and 6 million copies world wide. This week, 2 million copies were sent to stores across the world, half of them in North America. I forgot something important, in the post above, with the first article. Rene says that, in 1999, Celine signed with Sony the biggest contract ever an artist had with a record company, for 6 albums. Now, I don't know if that contract included All The Way... A Decade of Song, but I'm guessing not. This means Taking Chances is the 6th, and last album she owes them by contract.

So, that means she'll renew contract with Sony very soon and we'll be stuck with them for the next six albums   .

There was an article in La Presse.- there's a link in this [thread] - that says Taking Chances wasn't part of the contract, but they promised SonyBMG another album for 2007, that's why they made it. Now that her contract ended, she should rethink what SonyBMG still has to offer for her instead of blindly renewing anything. I can easily imagine her to not extend anything until after a short hiatus.

Yesterday Taking Chances (cd/dvd) was nr 1 on cdon.com's list of most sold coming/new releases! That is somewhat amazing considering no promo here in Sweden, except a full page in some newspaper about the tour the day. The album (cd/dvd version) is also on cdon.com's frontpage under "coming".

Today it's on nr 3, though. The just cd version is at nr 18...

u forgot ON NE CHANGE PAS (french compilation - 2005).

hope they will sign a new contract soon but with a lot of demands for her (promotion, money, budget for videos....) no matter what will be the label

I have to ask, though. Is there a better copy of this edition of the Recording Sessions? hehe.... This is the exact SAME one they showed at the Celine Dion Listening Party, but with an added message to open the show, with Celine saying, "Hello, Malaysia!"  

So, is there a better copy out there? Just curious. Thanks!
