I don't think Celine has any intention of calling this her farewell tour.  It might be the last big thing she does for a while...but she will be back.

She'll be in SA 14th February just as I thought! It's good it's not at the very beginning of the year so that she will have some time off to prepare.

seb - do we know something about this concet in SA? is it gonna be part of her world tour or just 1 concert there?
also - where is it gonna take place?is it private or is she gonna perform in front of 100 000 people?

p.s. - from all the details that i collected this world tour is o not official . i dont have any doubt that sometime in the future celine will tour again but this rumor about a 2 year deal is still not confirmed and we still dont know if it's gonna start in 2008 and be sooooooooooooo huge .

Gogo, the TVA journalist contacted René himself and he said Céline has been offered many tour proposals and ONE of them especially pleased her and is currently being discussed. And you know he won't tell it all straight away - it's surely against their contract with Caesars. But the tour is definitely happening. Ritoutou confirmed it back then (at least for Europe).

It's a banquet, so it's not an actual concert.. Celine will most likely perform a shortened set. And it's open to well everyone, but the prices are quite extreme/expensive (thousands of dollars).

It won't be official till it's on CD.com or a press release is issued (or if René/Céline will announce it personally to the press). But more & more signs are appearing by the day. So there's definately something brewing.

Also we (as in the Dutch Céline fanclub) got word a little while ago from an official/quite reliable source that a/the tour is in the planning stage.

And, gogo, ritoutou was also right about the number of nights - she said 3-5 nights for Paris only! And she said that back in 2004! Some plans have changed, of course but the idea has remained: Céline will have 2 nights a city minimum and I won't be surprised she will do up to 5 nights a city (with days in between for break).

I know the album will be no.1 in every country she'll visit as I told in the other thread about Céline ruling the world again in 2008. Céline is not known for her singles but for her stage persence and persona - live, not studio. That's the reason ppl will go crazy for her, especially in Europe and in countries where she has never been before! Imagine the euphoria of those countless fans in SA or Brazil that can see her for the first time ever!

Also weren't there also rumors that she may come visit Israel, as well? This would be a good timing as well. I also rest my case regarding Céline visiting at least ONE country of the former Soviet block - may it be Kazakhstan, Usbekistan, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic or Romania. She should do it.

Ohhhh and the new English album will be so huge. The sales won't be that huge, tho as they continue to diminish every year now. In 2008 an artist that sells 2 million of an album will be considered a success. But anyway Céline will be everywhere then.

seb - celine almost came to israel during her LTAL tour but it didnt work out and til this days noone really knows why

Iv'e heard something about it but a few people told me that she wasn't supposed to come here :S (I didn't know her at that time lol   )

She's getting older but she's still Celine Dion. And the name means a lot. She still sings. She's still the best in what she does. That's what it matters.
