LEE Kernaghan will be joined by sister Tania Kernaghan and the McClymonts for a series of big Queensland shows.

 

On Thursday night he'll front up at a venue he used to own – Rockhampton's Great Western Hotel – followed by the Townsville Entertainment Centre (Friday), Longreach Hall of Fame for a special R. M. Williams event on Saturday, and Canelands Park Sound Shell in Mackay on Sunday. Lee's new album The New Bush is rapidly heading to platinum.

EARLY-bird tickets for the 2007 East Coast Blues Festival go on sale tomorrow and I can exclusively confirm that one of next year's headliners will be the one and only Robert Plant, the finest exponent of the traditional male vocalist school. There could even be an outdoor splash in Brisbane by the former frontman of Led Zeppelin, which Rolling Stone mag describes as "the heaviest band of all time" in a cover story in the October issue. Close to being confirmed are the likes of Bo Diddley, Solomon Burke, John Butler and Xavier Rudd.

We're inundated with hot tour rumours at present. Here's a handful with a ring of truth, according to our inside advisers. Don't rule out a Prince "retire-the-hits" show in 2007, plus headline tours to Oz by Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Celine Dion. The Canadian superstar wraps up her Las Vegas commitment next year and then heads out for a major world tour.

 

Urban rocks up

 

I CAN also reveal that Keith Urban will return Down Under in November to launch his new album, which is bound to be gigantic. No word as yet on whether he'll be squiring a handbag. No title for the new album, but we reckon it'll be the one to hoist the Caboolture kid into the multi-platinum stakes here. The first single is titled Once in a Lifetime and it's a solid pop-rock outing.

It would be really nice! The previous world tour was interupted due to Rene's cancer and we know Celine never wanted to be in Europe in 1999. Her mind was elsewhere and even though she did a great job, I think we all know she would have been even better without all the stress and worry. So another tour now they are both so healthy and now that Rene Charles is older would be great. Most of the world has not seen Celine for 7 years, it's time for her to return.

Look carefully..

 

It would be really nice! The previous world tour was interupted due to Rene's cancer and we know Celine never wanted to be in Europe in 1999. Her mind was elsewhere and even though she did a great job, I think we all know she would have been even better without all the stress and worry. So another tour now they are both so healthy and now that Rene Charles is older would be great. Most of the world has not seen Celine for 7 years, it's time for her to return.

Celine already told us that coming to Paris in 2005 made her realise how much she was missing the fans and the atmosphere that comes with touring. And didn't she tell "People" magazine that she wanted to get RC settled in school and then see how a tour and another baby could fit into her life? The dates quoted may not be correct but the concept behind it could be a very real one.

 

Here it is, from People (May 2006):

 

"I'd love to tour again and I'd love do movies. It's just a matter of timing. Let's finish here, let's get my son in school in Florida, take a break, maybe have another baby. Then we'll see."

There are still the rumours circulating about Gilbert Coullier, Celine's tour director, who is supposed to be in the process of arranging a series of French concerts don't forget. Perhaps this is what will happen in 2008 and then a full blown world tour a few years later once the new baby is a bit older.

Céline said herself that she doesn't plan anything big after Vegas. If she will tour she will do it in small venues. Nothing grand like 5 continents in the biggest stadiums. She might do Stade De France once but the rest she will do sparsingly. If at all.

 

And not at all will it be a farewell tour. Just a break tour.

Didn't she say on Sky TV a few weeks ago that she is looking forward to doing another tour? And in Paris in August she said she was surprised at the energy of her fans and she said herself it made her re-evaluate her plans and that she wanted to come back sooner than she had thought.

Well... I never heard or read Celine mentioning a major world tour.

 

Let me quote her biography:

 

"Céline also expects to tour Europe again on a smaller scale, this time staying longer in each city instead of jetting from place to place and exhausting herself in the process"

 

Until further confirmation from Céline or René (and no one else) this is what I believe.

 

And I seriously wish more a baby for her than a world tour. Call be a bad fan, a SCF, whatever you want. I just have respect for her biggest wish. We all know it is.
