All six networks will air a telethon next Friday night at 8 PM, “A Concert for the Donating Celebrities.” “These celebrities want to give as much to Rita victims as they did to people who suffered through Katrina,” said telethon host Matt Lauer. “However, they’ve exhausted their publicity/charity funds. So we’re asking viewers to help their favorite celebrity help their fellow Americans.” “When something like this happens, your life suddenly gets a new perspective,” said Paul Malloy, a 41 year old construction worker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. “When I found out that Sean Penn needs a new fan boat to help rescue people from the flooding, and I just had to give.” Celebrities pleading for assistance so they can make sizable donations to the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity include Dennis Quaid, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Piven, Shania Twain, Sean Astin, and Teri Hatcher. Friday’s show will also feature celebrities appearing via satellite from devastated regions in Texas and Louisiana. Celine Dion will appear live from Galveston, Texas, where she’ll be surrounded by victims pleading for viewers to give Dion enough money to pay her accountant’s retainer and then pass on the rest to them. http://datelinehollywood.com/wp-content/celinefinal.jpg “Now is the time for this nation to unite and help the stars,” said Dion’s accountant. “I’m asking every American who loves Celine to help her give the biggest donation of any celebrity, as well as paying me so I can help her write the entire amount off on her taxes.” Evan Marriott, the original “Joe Millionaire,” is also slated to make an appearance on the telethon. Asked how much money he already donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Marriott replied, “I can’t wait to help, but first I need Americans to help me pay off my Visa bill.” --------------Source: Dateline Hollywood-------------- Edited September 26, 2005 at 11:16 AM by CSCfan »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY

AllCeline Posted September 26, 2005 at 01:00 PM Posted September 26, 2005 at 01:00 PM (edited) I don't think that's fuuny. In fact, it's just down right, rude! These hurricanes are no laughing matter! People have died, and many lost all they have! How can people write something like this!? It's so sad that people can't pull together and help in times of need instead of making fun of those in hurt. What kind of a website would post something like that? I don't think those who suffered a loss would be lauging at this so-called, "joke!" So sad Edited September 26, 2005 at 01:01 PM by AllCeline http://i34.tinypic.com/9ybm.jpghttp://i54.tinypic.com/o56kr5.jpghttp://i54.tinypic.com/vhqqu9.jpg>> flickr | WordPress <<Celine Dion needs another ANDHC/OH album! No more Taking Chances--just do what works!
