(I rarely post similar topics in more than one forum, but here it goes)

So the track list of the French GH is now out. And many rose an eyebrow or two seeing the English title track I Believe In You. The duet was a great relief for me, since it's been a while since she did a duet with contemporary artists. That it was the world's most popular 'boy band' at the moment just made the other thumb go up....

But then the senario hit me: remember last time Céline did a duet with a tenor?!?! For all of you who can't, it's because you repressed it. I Hate You Then I Love You with oughful lyrics like "I hate you then I love you, then I love you then I hate you then I love you more" made most fans go "I Hate You then I Hate You More" (to the track itself of course). Some were once more proven that whipped cream with choclate mousee isn't always the right match. Great + Great (was this time) = not so great. One may think she'd never do it again. One could never believe she'd do it with four (at once) again!

But yea, I am glad she's finally deciding to record a duet with frech artists. And I am glad she's choosen someone who is commercial interesting. (Can't belive I just said that.)

And yea, I see why the guys should be glad. First it's Céline Dion. One may think that is the soly reason for extreme contentment, but (here comes another one) I Believe In You doesn't ring a bell in my head that says I've heard it before - and a new original track must be a HUGE step for the world's most popular cover band!

Is anyone the slightest worried that I Believe In You will go rock bottom as I Hate You Then I Love You - The Sequal ...?

no way. it should be like The Prayer. this is Celine's last duet with a Tenor, more accurate Pop Opera singer.

I agree Bellamy, and what about the duets with Josh Groban at World Childrens Day? The prayer was just great and especially at the end, with Aren't they all our children, Céline proved her voice can stand up with a voice that usually sings in an opera-way!

By the way, I did some research at Il Divo (the only thing I knew about them up till now was that they look nice and sing opera-like) and I do think Céline is the only female singer that can stand up to them. They sing really powerfull and there are FOUR of them... But I am sure she will blow them all away! :laughing: I truly hope there will be images of the recording of this song. And a single plus video of it would be nice too! :thumbsup2:

I think its a good idea of them to sing together. It will give Il Divo more attention and Céline will get extra attention too, because she sings with a relatively new, young band. I think its great and I cant wait to hear the song! I hope it will make all the critics shut their mouth! :msn-tongue:

I LOVE Il Divo. Great amazing voices. I just imagine Celine blending with them and it's like WOW!

Wheter it comes as The Prayer or as I hate you then I love you (A great song that I love very much no matter what people say) I'm sure I'm gonna love it.

This sounds great!

I for one loved the song I hate you then i love you before i heard Celine sing it, then to hear her sing it was an extra bonus!

The same i can say for the prayer, anothe song which i love.

So im hoping ill love this new track as much as the others.

Ok...just went to their website...(and by the way it is 4 guys) and listened to a few of their songs. Definitely NOT my taste in music...I could only tolerate 2-3 seconds of their singing. Sorry to those of you that are fans. I just don't like someone trying to sing to classical music...I'll stick to pure instrumentals. Thanks, but NO THANKS!

I don't think this will be a sequel to I Hate You then I Love You. The voices will blend in beautifully. The boys will receive big publicity with this track, a wise move.

This is just weird... the album is still 5 weeks away and already so much negative stuff.

I've heard here and there so much negativity like: omg this is gonna be so awful... omg I'm scared of what will come out... omg this will be like a song that I hate...

I've never even heard of Il Divo. I'll have to visit their site.

I know I Hate You, Then I Love You isn't the best song in the world but it is Celine and she could put out anything she wants and I'll love it.

I'm sure critics will have negative things to say, they always do. Will I take anything to heart??? Absolutely not! Anytime Celine releases a CD (at least in the US) she is criticized because she isn't hip like all the popular singers out there so I basically expect these things. The one thing that always suprises me is when I go onto Celine sites and people, the ones that are supposed to be her fans, are questioning the quality of her upcomming albums without even hearing them first.

With that said, we all know Rene and Celine are perfectionists. Rene only surrounds Celine with the best and Celine will only accept the best out of her recordings so I'm sure the duet will be amazing.

Well I am here from the IL DIVO site, I am a huge fan of the guys, also a fan of Celine's.

There are some interesting comments about the upcoming duet, on this forum and ours.

I for one will wait until I hear the duet, it will be interesting.

Looking forward to the new album from both artists.

now, I also think "I Believe In You" could be "Je Crois Toi" English or Bi-lingual version too. cause "Je Crois Toi" is not in the tracklist, so it's quite possible. maybe Celine sing the French part, Il Divo sing the English part. I hope it'll sound like the orginal "Je Crois Toi" song + "The Prayer" duet. :wub2:

The guys from Il Divo are from different countries as far as I know, I know the most handsome one is from France! :msn-wink: Maybe Sheena can tell us more about this?

It will be nice for Céline to perform with them, I think they have great voices. And as far as I can tell they seem to be down to earth, just like Céline. I think they will have much fun in the studio. Or, now that I am thinking about it, I think they already recorded the song! Because the album will be in stores in a little more than one month, so the song already exists! Isn't that a thrilling thought? It's out there, somewhere... I WANT TO HEAR IT!!!! :kicking:

and who are Il Divo, never hearded of them. I went into their website, and according to them their album has been #1 in Sweden for 6 weeks, (I live in Sweden) and I asked some friends, but nobody knew who they were. Weird.

It is more and more clear to me and I see you stated the same as I, the mixed languge version and she'll do the French part since it is her FRENCH BEST OF, and they'll cover a song in a language that differs from the orginal track all in their order.

Their debut album has done exceptionally well for the type of artist they are.

They have managed to reach number 1 in several countries.

Not everyones type of music, but I enjoy. The best thing about them is they are all so down to earth, they always spend time with the fans and they also post on their forum on a regular basis.

Im a fan of il divo(celine is my #1 tho) and the first thing i said to my friends was: wow I wish Celine makes a song with this guys cause they are awesome and look now , i cant wait to hear the song im sure is great.
