Nmj Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Speaking of Adele, this is her last weekend of shows until the fall, right? I wonder what Celine’s relationship is with Caesars Palace these days. Did she completely cut the cord now that they’re a Live Nation venue, or would she still want to see some of the old familiar faces. When John from AEG now at the helm I’m wondering the same thing. I remember Dee posted herself at Adele’s concert a few weeks AFTER she attended the concert of Katy Perry with Celine and John at RW. I would’ve thought that Celine would’ve tagged along but maybe the politics involved has kept her away. She’s arguably a bigger fan of Adele than Katy so who knows. This weekend to see Adele and get a photo op with her would be a great move to generate buzz with a week leading to the docs release. Either way I think it’ll be intentional if she waits this this weekend it’ll be to be there at that time and if she doesn’t attend if think it’ll be because she’s opting to stay away from the colosseum and not Adele. smw Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I’m hoping Celine will show up at Adele’s show before it’s over. It’d probably get a lot of press coverage. I know being back in the colosseum could bring up some emotions but it could also be a nice moment and she loves Adele. 1 Quote

Maybe John chewed her out after she bit on the Hoda question as they were walking the terrace. He probably told her to stay optimistic but slip up to them. Which leads me to believe something like the Olympics is first up and then they’d announce plans for a Vegas show after. If we think the time frame , first the doc on June 25… then a possible Olympics performance in July … if they were to announce a Vegas stint right after that it would fit the timeline of the John K predictions of a NYE RW return. August to December is about right in terms of time to sell tickets. Edited June 14, 2024 by Nmj Quote
idroveallnight Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I mean, what else is there for her to do but Vegas? It is the lesser stressful option than touring. She once said that the predictability of the Vegas shows put less pressure on her. Quote

I’m sure there’s some form of contract that need to be fulfilled there if she returns. I’m sure she doesn’t have to return and any good lawyer could make the contract be void after her diagnosis but that’s only if she never sings again. If she decides to comeback which she says she is, they won’t let her just do a mini residency in Europe or Canada without playing there too. She even had a big part in designing the theatre to her liking.’ 1 Quote

As for the weekly IVIg, I think she would schedule her shows in such a way that she would fly back to Vegas/Colorado or wherever she is receiving these every week. Touring is her real dream, and we know she’ll do anything necessary. Edited June 14, 2024 by Céline RO Quote The best is yet to come...

She once said that the predictability of the Vegas shows put less pressure on her. It's definitely reassuring for her being in a known environment, and going back home every night to her kids and daily habits. It is probably the best way to come back and see how it goes. We'd better get ready for absolutely jaw dropping ticket prices though. Edited June 14, 2024 by A new day... 1 Quote
smw Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 (edited) Team Celine is starting to post some of the media coverage to her instagram stories. Including Celine’s quote about how she will be back onstage. Seems like they’re planting seeds for a big announcement or two. Hopefully at least her appearance at the Olympics but I really think a Vegas show is coming. Like others have stated, this documentary and these interviews explain what’s been going on over the past few years and then the stage will be set for the next chapter in her career — with everyone understanding her new normal. scielle Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Like others have stated, this documentary and these interviews explain what's been going on over the past few years and then the stage will be set for the next chapter in her career — with everyone understanding her new normal. I, too, think a lot of this is about "resetting the stage" and recalibrating people's expectations. Knowing what we know now, and presumably we'll have an even better understanding once the doc is out there, nobody could possibly begrudge her for cancelling a show at last minute. It'll lift a lot of the burden off her, the stress of "show must go on no matter the cost". And hopefully that'll give her more joy and freedom in all aspects of her work - performing, but also any future recording. 4 Quote

I’m feeling very optimistic, especially regarding her recording new songs now that we’ve heard her sing in recent interviews. To me, in this clip she sounds better than most of the songs on Courage. (Although, I do like the Courage album and have an entirely new perspective on it especially now that we know what she was going through.) https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8Jz4vZpiFZ/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Quote

scielle Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) Scott is now back tracking Haha, yup... "circle back"... well, let's see what he can find out.Note the BBC isn't issuing any corrections. That article is still very much up and clearly has a "New Vegas Show" section. They're not backtracking on this, Team Celine the BBC piece to her stories yesterday, and other media is starting to pick it up (though only from the BBC story, no other sources). Also, the article has this tidbit from Celine's doctor: "[Dr. Piquet] says that although Celine will live with this condition for the rest of her life, the therapy she is undergoing to lessen the muscle spasms will help her to sing on stage again." ryba Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) I’m glad that she is finally back and we now know what has been going on for the last couple of years. I already noticed that something is wrong in 2016 when she was performing live and sounded so different. Also on most songs of the album Encore un Soir she sounded the way she sounded live and I kept wondering why they used vocals like this for an album release, same with Courage. I assumed it was due to Renes death and her grief. Now it makes sense. She simply couldn’t have made it better due to her condition. Edited June 15, 2024 by ryba Quote

The thing is though… I think the EUS album has so many beautiful vocals and Courage album had some too. I think were stronger albums then the respective English and French album that they followed. So it was clearly very on and off at times. Edited June 15, 2024 by Nmj 1 Quote

Obviously Celine's vocals had somewhat diminished over the years, but for me the biggest issue wasn't with range, dynamics, etc....moreso her stylistic choices and pronunciation. Granted the pronunciation might have a correlation with her condition, but perhaps not totally. 1 Quote
Ajax Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 The ways she always talked about it then and now bedroom voice in my opinion has nothing to do with her condition. It was maybe a good opportunity knowing her struggles but mainly something she wanted to explore in her career at one point. Quote

It was maybe a good opportunity knowing her struggles but mainly something she wanted to explore in her career at one point. I think it was a bad idea. She should've used it for the WAAF song and stayed away lol. When that interviewer brought up whisper pop and Celine brought out the "late night smoker's voice" again I was like nooooo don't remind her! But I don't think Celine really understood the question about whisper pop, and it made me wonder if she actually knows Billie's music because from what I've heard of Billie she doesn't sound like the rough blues voice that Celine was impersonating. Nothing to do with the tunnel she is speaking of, the nasality, the way to accentuate and tense the words. Bedroom voice is something different she always navigated around and accentuated when she decided to work with adele s producers. I can be wrong Quote

ivo Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Will she sing ‘Help’ in a new show like she said in the australian interview? Would love to hear her version. Loved Tina Turners version when I was at her concert. Great song. Yes and the original show premiere before it was cancelled at Resorts World, was set to donate all the funds to Covid-19 relief. 2 Quote
