FAN CAMPAIGN: Live à Bercy 2013 on CD

I have created this topic with the hope that us fans can work together in contacting and messaging Sony Music and Feelings Productions to try and get Celine's extraordindary 2013 European Tour released as a live CD (and DVD if we're really lucky). I think most people would agree that in terms of the quality of Celine's voice and the setlist, these were the best Francophone shows since the D'eux Tour. It would be a shame to see this exclusive tour pass by without an official release as she continues to perform in Vegas.

 

If anyone here has any suggestions as to how we can make this happen, please share your thoughts and ideas here. I intend to create a similar topic on the official website to see if we have any support for such a release there.

Reasons why “Tournée Européene 2013” should be released on CD:

 

• During her sold-out European Tour in 2013, Celine was in much better shape vocally than during “Une seule fois…”, recorded in Québec in July 2013. The recording from this Québec performance was heavily auto-tuned for the TV broadcast.

 

• The best performances for a live CD can be chosen from 7 sold-out shows in Paris, giving fans the very best of Celine during this exclusive tour.

 

• The Paris setlist contained many rarely-performed songs, including: “On ne change pas”, “Je crois toi”, “Terre”, “Regarde-moi”, “Tout l’or des hommes”, “Immensité”, “Ziggy”, and “Je ne vous oublie pas”.

 

• The most recent live release in the Francophone market was “Tournée Mondial Taking Chances”, recorded in Montreal in 2008. However, this release was from an Anglophone tour, and contained only 7 French hits.

 

• The 2013 European Tour featured 18 French songs, many of which had not been performed since 1999, or had never been performed as part of Celine’s show before.

 

• The last live CD to contain almost exclusively French songs was “Au cœur du stade”, released in 1999. This CD was released just 2 months after being recorded.

 

• This was Dion’s most exclusive tour, with only 9 shows performed in 2 cities. This means there are thousands of fans around the world who did not have the chance to witness what many consider to be her best series of French concerts since the “D’eux Tour” in 1995/6.

 

• With Celine performing in Las Vegas until 2019, it could be many years before a series of Francophone concerts are performed again. A live CD/DVD from Europe gives fans a chance to experience a side of Celine’s catalogue which is not performed in Las Vegas.

 

• A live CD could be released separately and/or as a bonus disc with a re-release of “Sans attendre”, which would help boost the album’s sales to over 2 million copies worldwide.

 

• Gérard Schachmes, Celine’s official photographer, took many photos throughout this tour. A physical release would allow for some of these photos to be included in a booklet as a souvenir for the fans.

 

 

CD tracklisting:

 

• If all the English songs are removed from the show, leaving just the French numbers, the show would fit onto 1 CD, including time for applause and speeches.

 

• Very little vocal editing would be required, as Celine was in top shape during these concerts. Many fans would appreciate a live release reminiscent of “Live à Paris” or “À l’Olympia”, without the auto-tune that has tainted recent productions.

• The European Tour featured several fixed cameras, recording footage for the large screens in the arenas. This footage could be used to create a DVD with basic camera angles for the dedicated fans to enjoy the entire show unedited. Such footage has already been made available online for 3 of the songs performed during the show.

It would be good if they could somehow take the English performances from the Paris shows and re-release "Loved Me Back To Life" with mini English concert DVD and also do exactly what Tim has suggested with the whole concert DVD in a re-released "Sans Attendre" for French speaking territories.

To be honest, I don't want English part that much since there is only LMBTL and WAAF ... but the French one is a must!!!

Like I said above, if you take out all the English songs, the Paris concert would fit perfectly on 1CD, meaning we could have proper Francophone live album for the first time in years, with so many rare songs!

btw i wouldn't mind that they release a mixed concert live cd from her europe tour and the one from quebec that would just make the right tracklist in a way!
