CelinesDIVO5 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Oh hell that line I'm totally fine on, probably tone deaf as hell and way off but in my mind at least I sounds decent on that line but the rest of the song wears me the hell out lol It's definitely a lot of breath control lol Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
Pangloss76 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It's definitely a lot of breath control lol I just lose mine on "make you happy"... Don't know why. Maybe because the key is quite high and the verses are sung in a normal voice (not so whispery)... Then come the belts and I always think to myself: "why am I not 12 anymore?" lol! 1 Quote

CelineDionFreak Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) What's hard too is Quand Ça balance. It's like oh my god, Celine, you're going soooo fast. After listening a million times, I can get it to a point. I'd sound like an idiot trying to keep up the rhythm lol Edited November 26, 2015 by CelineDionFreak Quote I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!Le temps qui compte pour Celine est maintenant!

crazy4music Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Wow! Why have I never seen this topic? For some odd reason, I have always liked choosing to sing more difficult songs, like when I competed in a local talent show for four years. I find a lot of songs personally challenging because I don't have a really big voice and I'm a total weakling. But I absolutely love to sing. I have been training to improve my voice so I can sound a little stronger and have better projection. One of the most difficult areas for me to master is the breath control. I've been singing since I was nine years old, I took voice lessons for two years, and even if I train every single day, I still can't capture the magic secret of how to get that airflow just right. Céline always amazes me with how she can do that. With that said, any song that has a lot of big belting and sustained notes is always very difficult for me. Some of the toughies for me could include: I Want You To Need Me: I know a lot of other people have mentioned that song in here, and I would certainly agree. That is one really hard song to sing, mainly because there's so much belting. I Surrender: Again, there's a whole lot of belting here, not to mention the really long phrase where she sings and goes up to higher and higher notes, all in the same breath! Yikes! Have You Ever Been In Love: Now, I can sing most of this song, but the only thing that's really hard for me here is the very beginning, when she sings really low. I think that's at the very bottom of my vocal range. Once it goes up an octave, I can jump in. New Dawn: same thing here, very, very low notes at the beginning, and she hums low too. I cannot do that. I love the song, though. All By Myself: Of course, I would have to mention the obvious one. Say what you want, but that "anymoooooooooooooore" is the vocal to beat! At least I think so. I will continue this in a new post. It's late and my computer, for some reason, is slowing down every time I press the enter key. I think it needs some maintenance. to be continued ... 3 Quote Check out what I'm listening to on my Last.fm profile! Music is my world!
crazy4music Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I just realized I forgot about a few songs. Us: chorus is definitely a challenge The Reason: Where do I start for this one? This song has everything: lots of long, belted notes, as do many of her songs. Just watching the video of her recording those vocals makes me tired! This woman works so darn hard in the studio! The Power of Love: not only the high note at the end of the song, but also that really long phrase "lightyears away" and then she goes directly back into "'cause I'm your lady" all in the same breath ... Once again, I am amazed! Quote Check out what I'm listening to on my Last.fm profile! Music is my world!
Angel2006 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 There is this one super long note in The Reason during the overlapped vocals, where Celine is belting out long notes over top each other. I hate that her production team overlapped the vocals at that particular part in the song, because it's hard to really hear where that one long note begins and ends. I have been wanting someone to edit that song for years now. It would be so cool if someone would edit it and make it so that you can clearly hear the long background note, without those other notes overlapping into it. I really wish someone could make it into a remix, highlighting the long note and making it louder somehow. I am kind of surprised that someone hasn't already done it by now actually. I think it's her longest studio note. I'm just a little surprised that there hasn't been a fan out there who's already made a video highlighting the length of that note, making it front and center somehow. It would make my year. I love when people edit and strip down her songs, taking all the background vocals and instruments away so that all you hear is the voice. Quote
