VanMerlin Posted July 7, 2005 at 02:48 PM Posted July 7, 2005 at 02:48 PM To me, the show is a disturbing symptom of today's hyper-insecure society and a complete waste of time. As someone I know says, "it's just another body show." Quote

VanMerlin Posted July 7, 2005 at 06:26 PM Posted July 7, 2005 at 06:26 PM Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's quality. Ratings does not mean quality, it means people are attracted to it for some reason, and that reason is probably not its quality. It is a 'body show'. It is a plastic surgery show, and the fact that it isn't real or has some ridiculous human-element stories running beneath the theme of plastic surgery doesn't make it any better. It's the implementations it has on society and the reason that it's popular that is disturbing to me. What is it in people's heads that makes this show entertaining? This is the question I ask myself. If you like it, you don't need to defend it. You just openly asked what we think, and I think it's garbage. That's okay, isn't it? I simply put it in a much deeper, farther-expanding context on the human condition...like I do with everything. That's all. Don't mind me. Peace, girl, peace. Whatever gets you through the day is fine by me, my friend. Quote
