ALT Keys Functions Help

Hey everybody:

I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with Windows Vista pre-loaded on it. For Christmas my partner bought me a Targus 10-key pad as an add-on. Well, I've been wanting to use the ALT Keys functions that create the letter "e" with the accent mark above it (like in Celine's name). Unfortunately, I've been unable to do so. :hmm:

Any help from any of you would be MOST appreciated!

Thank you!

ALT+130

Hey, Vic:

I tried the "code," but nothing comes up on my computer screen. :hmm: Is there a certain setting I need to change on my laptop or does Vista just not allow the codes?

Another bit of information is that I'm using FireFox. However, the codes don't work in Microsoft Word '07 either. :ermm:

I'm so confused! LOL

Thanks,

Joe

Works here in Vista. You have to hold down the ALT key and press 130.

That's what I'm doing and nothing happens. :sigh: My cursor just keeps blinking. I wish I knew what was causing this not to work.

Okay, after some searching on Targus' website I found out what I was doing wrong. I have to press and hold the ALT key PLUS the "FN" key (whatever that key is) and then the code. Darn technology! LOL

You can close this thread now.

Thanks,

Joe
