I must say I'm really enjoying being a part of this Forum. I'm very impressed with all the aspects of this website. I can definitely tell much work has been incorporated into this wonderful website. Since I've joined, which I must say I still feel a bit like a "newbie", I've always wondered how this website got created. Basically would love to hear the "creation" story of this site and how it has developed over the years. Learn about the people who took their idea and implemented it into celinedionforum. It would be a great story to read.

 

Please forgive me if this information is available somewhere here on the Forum. I did a search and could not find anything. I'm hoping I posted my question in the correct area.

 

Anyway, thank you for creating and running this website.

OK, in a nutshell this is how the forum was born.

 

Back in 2003, me and another fan from Argentina started a #Celine_Dion chatroom on IRC.. It became very popular due to all people sharing their Celine files. Fast forward to 2004, Bellamy came inside and we chatted then some months later, I decided to make him an operator of the chatroom. Later that year, we wanted another way of keeping in contact with the chatroom team. The idea of making a small forum just for us came about. At that time, there was also another Celine forum which a lot of us regularly frequent. Our relationship with them were not going well. There were many unhappy members that would love to have an alternative. We thought this would be the perfect time to open our forum to everyone. Soon after, celinedionforum was born. The rest is history.

 

PS I never thought it'd become this big!

I'm trying to imagine what the website looked like back in 2004 compared to now...how it has evolved. I'm impressed with all the work you've put into this website and the time it takes to maintain it.

It's funny when you do something with no expectations it usually reaps many rewards! Congrats and much appreciation for the creation of this website.

In the beginning, the banners and skins were not as professional. We didn't have many talented designers as we do now. It's funny to look back at the old topics...there were hardly any replies or views. See for yourself lol

I was a regular in the other forum too, and I remember one day Vic emailed me asking if I could share one video I had taken inside the colloseum of Celine introducing If I Could...i said yes and came here to see the forum and never left ever since

Do you like it better now that there are so many members? Or better when there were very few?

I wasn't so active before... And I don't remember how the forum was called and how it looked back then. But I think is much better now, with more things to share and more people sharing them...
