LVPantsGirl Posted November 12, 2004 at 10:47 PM Posted November 12, 2004 at 10:47 PM Hello everyone! I don't know how many of you have heard about the 10th Wedding Anniversary Quilt Project but someone told me that this place is accepting and encouraging so I might get a good response here about it so I thought I'd give it a shot! Back in May I thought of an idea to create a 10th Wedding Anniversary Quilt used for pinicinicing for René and Céline because she had mentioned picinics in a couple of different interviews. In one in particular she mentioned that she felt that the most romantic thing she had ever done for René was made a feast of all of hsi favorite lebanese foods and got all tehri favorite thigns from their home in florida and went and had a picinic under the tree of life just a couple weeks from when she gave birth to René-Charles. In a later interview she mentioned a picinic in the living room with René-Charles so it just re-inforced that it is something that she enjoys doing with the ones she loves. To make a long story short in May a Céline fan friend named Jillian and myself got going on the quilt making it a reality and we decided that we woudl take donations for the quilt and that we wanted as many people to be a part of this project as possible if people really wanted to. The front of the quilt is not finished, is made of jaquard and ultra-suede fabrics (really nice) and has 23 different photographs of Céline and René from 1984 to 2004. So far there are about 25-30 fans from around the world who have donated towards the quilt and we'd really love to see more people become a part of this. Pictures of the front of the quilt will be available VERY SOON. Jillian and I are attempting to arrange personal meetings with Céline and René in order to assure that this is delivered personally to them. We'd like to take some photos of their reaction as they are opening their gift to show those you you who have or would like to contribute just how much they will appreciate this. If you have any interest please let me know within the next two weeks. Thanks! Marisa lvcd538@hotmail.com Quote

LVPantsGirl Posted November 14, 2004 at 11:59 AM Author Posted November 14, 2004 at 11:59 AM I have pictures available although they are mostly blurry unfortunately. It depends if you want to see all of them or just a couple of the highest quality ones. The ones of the full quilt are fine but the close ups of the photos turned out a bit blurry.... But the actual photo quality on the quilt is as good as the highest quality photo I took of one of the photos. It's all good looking... not at all blurry on the quilt. Do you want to see all of them or just some of them? Quote

I had it but lost it That would be nice Quote http://perso.club-internet.fr/fly0142/CI_Albums/c_ne/CI_posing_64.jpg
ThinkTwice Posted November 18, 2004 at 06:29 PM Posted November 18, 2004 at 06:29 PM Hey Marisa! I'd love to see some pictures ! You don't have to show them all if there are to many of them, just to have an idea... Evi xxx... Quote
LVPantsGirl Posted November 21, 2004 at 09:39 AM Author Posted November 21, 2004 at 09:39 AM A friend Darryl uploaded the pictures I sent him to his photo albums. On his albums you can see the individual photographs we selected for the quilt as well as the photos of the final project here: http://photos.yahoo.com/darryl0526@rogers.com The photos of the "final" are two (attempted) full quilt shots, three examples of how the photos came out printed onto the fabric (all very nicely) and also examples of one of the soft fabrics (the blue one) and a woven jaquard (the sage green). Keep in mind these photos don't portray the actual beauty of the quilt. Due to lighting some of the fabrics look darker and less vibrant. The quilt is about the size of a queen sized matress top with two inches hanging over on each side and the top and bottom. When the backing is sewn on it will be a tiny bit smaller but not too much. Also, though not all of the photos are showin printed onto the fabric, they call came out nice and sharp. Hope you like what you see! Please let me know your thoughts! PS: If there is anyone out there who would still like to participate in this gift, there is still time. Just let me know ASAP! We'll see what we can't do! Quote

LVPantsGirl Posted November 22, 2004 at 10:56 PM Author Posted November 22, 2004 at 10:56 PM We'll try to get some better photos of it before we give it to Céline and René. Maybe someone in my family knows how to take really good ones. I remember that a family friend Gene said he loves to take pictures and he has a bunch of really good ones of his daughter that he took so maybe he'll have an idea as to how to get it all in there in the right lighting so you can see the TRU colors and stuff. Thanks so much for the compliments! Quote

LVPantsGirl Posted November 27, 2004 at 12:21 PM Author Posted November 27, 2004 at 12:21 PM Jillian and I finished the quilt today and it's really, really pretty. We actually opted not to go for the silk backing. We went for a chenille backing instead that is like a medium camel colour and is soft but also more dirable than a silk would be. It looks so incredible. I got teary eyed looking at it again. Jill did too. LOL. We took a few goofy pictures too, so we'll post those as soon as she loads them onto her computer. In any case... I just wanted to let you know that the quilt is finished (with exception of a few other little touches that I will be adding). Marisa PS: To anyone who asked me for the link to donate I will post that tomorrow. I'm getting so tired. It's 4:19 AM here and I can't sleep because I had a giant coffee with extra shots of expresso!!!!! AHHH. Quote
