CelineFanInSoCal Posted September 16, 2008 at 05:08 PM Posted September 16, 2008 at 05:08 PM I saw this today and almost squealed! I wondered why she wasn't coming down here... I will have to get up bright and early to get some good tickets tomorrow morning! The arena is about 10 minutes from home! LOL Quote
Davey84 Posted September 16, 2008 at 06:23 PM Posted September 16, 2008 at 06:23 PM roberry... that's so cool! I wonder if they will be adding more dates... aint it a bit short notice, if more will be added? neener00200 Posted September 16, 2008 at 07:30 PM Posted September 16, 2008 at 07:30 PM I'm SOOOO excited!! I don't think she's ever done a concert here. The closest she's come is Anaheim, which is why I got my 2 TC tickets already for there. Does ticketmaster even sell tickets at the venue anymore? LOL I imagine it's all online now. No more good old days when you camped out overnight for a place in line for front row seats the moment they went on sale.... Quote

No more good old days when you camped out overnight for a place in line for front row seats the moment they went on sale.... I've been to a few concerts recently and for one I did buy my ticket there, and the others I did see people getting tickets, so it's possible to go there and then get tickets. I wanna go to this so bad Sucks being 16 with NO money...I've asked to get a job but my dad says I need to focus on school...HELLO it cannot get any easier, I am HOME-SCHOOLED so I have every day free. She's so expensive too...I am hoping to catch something on eBay closer to the concert date, but with my crappy luck, I am not getting my hopes up. Edited September 16, 2008 at 07:49 PM by Allie Quote
Chula Posted September 17, 2008 at 08:47 AM Posted September 17, 2008 at 08:47 AM It means demand in California is very high! Quote
neener00200 Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:07 PM Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:07 PM Wonder why the floor tickets are $254??? Even in Los Angeles they're only $185.... Quote
CelineFanInSoCal Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:29 PM Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:29 PM I just got my tickets! LOL And I think the tix are more expensive for this show for a couple reasons: 1) San Diego is unfortunately a more expensive place to live.2) They can charge more because there was an obvious demand to have her in San Diego, and see #1. It's basic supply and demand, and it's taking place in an expensive city. LOL I actually got excited as I pressed the button at the ticketmaster site to purchase the tickets. There was no seating chart available, but I looked at a few other venues' seating charts for her show and ended up just buying them. ha ha So who else is going?!?! Quote
neener00200 Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:56 PM Posted September 17, 2008 at 05:56 PM Congrats on getting tickets! Where are you sitting? I tried to buy some, but they didn't have an option to purchase a membership at the same time as the tickets like there was for other cities. San Diego isn't any more expensive than LA or Orange County (except for gas!).....and those cities had the most expensive tickets (so far). Even so, they were only about $30 more than other cities....not $70-$100 more!! My tickets for 2nd row center in Vegas were less expensive than her San Diego show (and I thought Vegas was expensive!! Not sure what the demand here would be.....I would have thought the fans would have gotten OC or LA tickets, since she's never performed here. Ah, well....she's coming HERE! I'm still so excited I can hardly stand it!! My husband and I were quite excited yesterday, yelling "Celine's coming to San Diego" off & on all afternoon. So my dear 4 year old son drew a picture to give to Celine, and then asked what time she was coming to our house so he could give her the picture. Too cute! Quote
binsk Posted September 19, 2008 at 10:23 PM Posted September 19, 2008 at 10:23 PM the reason some places like SD are more expensive is b/c each artist has a fee and when there are less seats that fee gets divided more expensivley between the seats. Quote -RK
Allie Posted September 22, 2008 at 12:10 AM Posted September 22, 2008 at 12:10 AM I just got tickets! My friend texted me saying we got tickets...totally made my WEEK. I am going to see Celine three times now! I have no idea where they are though. Anyone want to meet up? I know basically no one here so it would be nice to even just say hi to someone. Quote
CelineFanInSoCal Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:14 PM Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:14 PM How exciting, everyone! I am starting to get that feeling in my tummy just reading these posts! It's getting so close! Finally, I get to see her without having to travel so far! LOL Last time I got to see her without having to FLY was when I lived near Washington DC and saw her on the LTAL tour. AND TO THINK!!! She'll now be in my city, and within 15 minutes of me! Any idea where she'll be staying? I am trying to think of what's near the venue, but nothing really "celeb-worthy", so where will she be?! LOL Quote

LOL I could potentially seeing her flying back to Vegas and just staying there while she does those shows...it's probably not a long flight...who knows what she'll end up doing??? There's too much good shopping and "family" stuff to do in southern ca... I can see her coming here for the first time and enjoying herself... maybe at The W downtown or at a resort near the water... or if she is flying, im still close enough to the airport to make a trip there. CelineFanInSoCal Posted November 17, 2008 at 02:00 AM Posted November 17, 2008 at 02:00 AM I havent heard anything of this date being postponed either. So, if all goes as planned, we're going to get one of her first shows back from taking time off for being sick? Now i am kinda nervous. LOL Is this good or bad? Quote

Kye Posted November 20, 2008 at 01:10 AM Posted November 20, 2008 at 01:10 AM SAN DIEGO CONCERT AT THE SAN DIEGO SPORTS ARENANovember 19 , 2008 AEG Live, the promoter of Celine Dion's Taking Chances World Tour, has regretfully had to cancel the artist's San Diego concert on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the San Diego Sports Arena. Celine's physician has instructed her to refrain from singing in order to completely recuperate from a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection which was further complicated by inflamed vocal chords. After reviewing artist and venue availability with tour logistics, the promoter was unable to reschedule the concert. Fans may obtain ticket refunds from their original point of purchase. Additionally, a limited amount of tickets for Celine's Los Angeles concert on December 2nd are still available. Fans able to attend the Los Angeles show are encouraged to visit ticketmaster.com now to purchase new tickets. Celinedion.com Quote Du Soleil Au Coeur
Kyle_Jared Posted November 20, 2008 at 01:52 AM Posted November 20, 2008 at 01:52 AM I have a funny feeling this concert was cancelled and not 'rescheduled' was due to poor ticket sales......when I checked ticketmaster there were tickets available on the floor....the lower bowl.....everywhere! If it sold well........they'd "FIND" a way to make it happen. Quote
neener00200 Posted November 20, 2008 at 04:29 AM Posted November 20, 2008 at 04:29 AM Well, when you want $254 dollars PER SEAT for half of the arena, of COURSE there's going to be poor ticket sales! We managed to get catwalk seats and were going to take our daughter for her first Celine concert ever. She was beyond excited. How am I supposed to break this to her swe et little 8 year old face tomorrow morning?? And now Celine will NEVER play in San Diego, because they think that there isn't an audience for her here... Quote
celinedream Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:31 AM Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:31 AM I think it's a good sign they are encouraging people to BUY tickets for LA show...this means LA won't be postponed then...hopefully Get well soon Céline Quote An angel was looking through,It was you,Yeah you...it'sYou are the REASON.

neener00200 Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:16 PM Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:16 PM I was at the box office last week, and they told me it probably wouldn't be canceled, because all the lower priced tickets ($60 -$100) had sold very well...it was just the $254 tickets that hadn't sold...gee, imagine that!! And AEG blaming it on Celine being sick!! That's what angers me the most!! If they really wanted her in San Diego, they should have put that stop in the original tour list a year ago, and not added it 2 months before the concert date with ticket prices so high in this horrible economy. And now I have to tell my little girl after school today.... How do I explain to her about corporate greed & stupidity?? Quote
maceta_biloxi Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:32 PM Posted November 20, 2008 at 05:32 PM Well, when you want $254 dollars PER SEAT for half of the arena, of COURSE there's going to be poor ticket sales! And is not just the price of the tickets, also the view is not that good for that price, the catwalk ticket should cost $254 and maybe the first 5 rows of floor sections....
