Hello Celine fans!

 

Everybody has heard of it , domestic abuse and violence.

Physical abuse , mental abuse and sexual abuse.

It happens everywhere , always and in every country.

Maybe somebody who you know personally is a victim , but you are afraid to help because you are afraid you may only make it worse.

Today I decided to act , so I made a video clip about it.

When I bought the CD 'Taking Chances' of Celine Dion , I heard the track 'This Time'.

It's about a woman who suffers from the abuse of her husband , and finally stands up to him.

When I heard that song , I wanted to do something about it ,so I did , and made the clip I told you about.

What I would like to ask you to do, is to watch the video and send it forward to all the people you know and send the video around the world.

Maybe we can reach that one person somewhere and make that person help him- or herself .

When that happens, my mission will be a succes.

Indeed, this is not just one of those songs you "just record". Seriously the production aint that good and all (song's production) but I thought it would had made a hit anyways, since it had the names Moody and Dion and a serious topic to it. Have no clue why they wasted this. It's almost a sin...

 

Should had been a single instead of Alone (if they were gonna have a Moody track that is).

I am a wellness worker at a women's emergency shelter (domestic violence shelter) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. When this song came out last year, I spoke to the director of the Alberta Council of Women's Shelters here in Alberta and together we wrote letters inviting Celine and Rene to take part in some way in the First World Conference of Women's Shelters being held at the end of this month in Edmonton, Canada. There are shelter workers from all over the world coming to share and learn from each other.

 

I had some initial contact because I emailed to find out if they got the letters, and I was told that our letters were forwarded to a particular individual. Since then I have left several messages and none of them have been returned.

 

I realize that Celine and Rene are very busy with this tour, but we have not even been given an acknowledgement of our request and this did disappoint me. I will not hold a grudge or be angry at all because that wouldn't do any good. I will just hope like the rest of you that this dynamic duo not let the opportunity go to waste to educate people about this huge societal problem. There are more deaths from domestic violence in North America than there are deaths from world wars, police fatalities, drug wars combined. Do your research and you'll see I'm not exaggerating. If you want an interesting read in this area, try reading "The War on Women". I'll forward the author's name later.

Celine could give domestic violence a huge voice if she'd release the song with a powerful video. Good work Insectenboek.

This song should be released and all proceeds should be donated so more women and kids can be helped and can be safe.

I agree it would be great if Celine did something to help victims of Domestic Violence. Remember, though, how many millions of requests like this she probably gets, and she can't do everything- so don't take it too personally if she doesn't reply. Maybe she feels it's not really her area...remember how hesitant she was to record the song, saying she had never lived through something like that.

These ppl are afraight to find help and are caught in the middle of a circle where the cant come out without oure help!

It has been 9 years since Taking Chances was released. If we never had a live performance of This Time, then chances are we will never get one. But even if we defy logic and still hope for a live performance, is this the proper way to do it? By pressuring her team? And suggesting that other fans bombard these people with messages? Celine needs vocal rest so that she keeps her instrument in tact. It is not the time to grab opportunities here and there to prove to the masses that she has a song for each occasion (which I believe is the reason of this demand).

 

Please, rationalize your wishes. Celine has never been more of a workaholic than she is this year! Asking her to take a break would make much more sense to me.
