VinnyT. Love, Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 (edited) Thanks Vinny for this information! Here the news is translated: CELINE DION - THE TOURMontreal to the endAgnes GaudetLe Journal de Montreal07-08-2008 | 06h34 Celine Dion adds a ninth date show in Montreal and finish her Taking Chances World Tour, at the Bell Centre on the Eve of Valentine's Day, February 13th. Tickets will go on sale August 23rd. It's finally official, a ninth date show is added to Montreal for Celine Dion. Instead of completing the tour as scheduled in Fort Lauderdale on January 30, 2009, in Montreal, the curtain will fall on Taking Chances. We know that tickets for dates earlier went on record time when they are put on sale and the demand is always present. Entertainment will be provided at the Bell Centre on August 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 25th, 31st and September 1st - all sold-out. In total, 172 000 tickets have quickly found buyers, ready to assist in the Return of the Prodigious Singer. "It's full every night," says René Angélil, via telephone. "There will be 22,000 people each evening. Our centre stage allows us to use a portion of the ice at the Bell Centre. So, therefore, more people than a hockey game!" Jokes the impresario of amateur sports. A big surprise Soon, the mainstream media and friends of Celine Dion and René Angélil will receive invitations to the premiere of Taking Chances shows in Montreal, which will take place on August 15th. The board does not reveal who was chosen to open for the star, but we know the person is an artist (or group) from Quebec, who will speak. "Do not miss the first part of Celine Dion," the invitation indicated. In the USA, the first part of the show, Celine Dion is will be open by the comedian Gordie Brown. In Quebec, this is obviously something else. "It's a surprise. It will give a big blow," reveals René Angélil. Just as Paris With the exception of a few melodies, the Taking Chances shows in Montreal will be substantially the same as her presentations in Paris, with many more songs for Francophone audiences of the world. With this show, Celine Dion has set the Palais Omnisport de Bercy-Paris on fire last May. Upon her entrance, under a thunder of applause, the singer was immediately was absorbed in her French songs, beginning with "J'irai où tu iras." For her French fans, Celine Dion had performed eight songs, somewhat like the language of Moliere, including "Ziggy," "Je sais pas," "S'il suffisait d'aimer" ... During this first at Bercy, the French public discovered a stunning Celine on its great modern stage. They were was very expressive. Many had brought posters and banners. Most knew by heart the words and melodies of her songs. We'll see if Montreal is also as expressive! Edited August 7, 2008 by Love, Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 The reason why she may not be finishing up this tour in Vegas like I was told is, possibly because Rene is currently in talks about having Celine back in Vegas, to do a new show!! Darren. Quote
Teodora Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Nothing about coming back to Europe? I'm sad.And Beijing? Exactly. But I didn't expect them to keep their promise since the first day. They never said, as far as I remember, that they were going to come back to Beijing during this tour. They said they'll be back some day... Some day could be 10 years from now. I really wish I could go to this Montreal concert, but I think it's too expensive for me.... But it's cool. 9 concerts! Lucky city! Quote
