I also saw one aution, which had just plain 12" albums like LCDMM, CPT, M, Chante et conte etc... and it went for 700 bucks or something! The seller must have had a fieldday!

 

I got WBDIC for 90 dollars I think, and I got HIH really cheap... 35 dollars or something like that!

Yeah, I bought my WBID single for less than 80 euros, I think. \

I still need to catch HIH though, that's why I've been watching that auction but gave it up - haven't even try to bid - I'm not that reach, LOL, and I know one day I'll be lucky to get this single way cheaper too! The last time I saw it it went for about 70 euros but I haven't bidded because it was in rather poor condition with some handwritings on the cover (not an autograph, hehe) which I really hate! I only collect stuff in great condition!

Meanwhile someone called Dionesque outbid me on the Incognito single. That's so unfair, don't they know I was at work all day and couldn't bid since last night.

Sweden11 (the seller) must be jumping for joy with all the money they've made today, over €1000 on Celine Dion alone. I think I'd have needed copious amounts of Valium to get through a day like that.

But I don't think I could ever sell my collection anyway, I'd prefer to sell a kidney, after all, unike my Celine stuff I can't take that out and admire it, or post photo's of it on the forum (well, not this one anyway!)

Yeah, Simon, it is hard but not impossible! I've seen "Was bedeute ich Dir" quite a lot of time on eBay!! "Hand in Hand" is a bit more rare but I've also seen this one a couple of time.

I really eagerly looking for this one but there are some much more rate items that maybe would be worth paying that 300-400 euros for them but not these 2 singles.

As for this seller, it was his last "round" with Céline items on eBay - he sold a lot more within past few weeks, his auctions have always ended on Sunday evenings. He sold a lot of great rare stuff and I'm sure he earned like 2000 euros on Céline alone, hehe, and than he also sold some rare Japanese singles of Whitney Houston, former Abba singers etc. which went for pretty high amounts of money as well!

 

Great job as for him, less great for our pockets but who cares...

It will be interesting to see how those two develop over the next week. It's a bit early yet to get an idea of how they'll end up, but I hope Was Bedeaute Ich Dir doesn't go for less than €163, which is what I paid for it!

They are always very expensive, they're rare.

I seen them on E-bay sometimes... But they always sells with high price.

I bought "WBID" also for a "high price" but it wasn't that high! 300 euros for this single is way too much - there are some much more rare items out there...

Hmmm, there's something fishy going on there. I thought it a bit odd that they re-appeared almost as soon as they were won. Too rare items like that both sold together and both owned by the same person, twice in a week!

 

I reckon the seller has been using another account and bidding high (or getting someone else to do it for them) in order to achieve a high sale. Maybe he bid too high last time and no one outbid him so he had to pretend he won and now he's doing the same thing again.

 

That is so bad, someone might get carried away andend up spending more than they should. I wonder if dropping a line to Ebay is in order. We don't want that sort of thing happening on Celine stuff.

Well, it's not the same seller who sells these singles on the currently running actions!!

 

The other seller (sweden11) is actually very reliable! I won some of his other auctions in the past weeks and he always shipped the items fast, very well packed and the items really were in excellent condition! (or at least as good as in the auction's descripition).

That's as may be, but look at this:

 

One seller has two very rare items for sale at the same time, both are won at higher than average prices, agreed.

WBID ends at 17:58 BST on 06 April

HIH ends at 18:39 BST on the same day, both are won by a very new buyer from Denmark (a rating of 3)

 

At 18:39 BST on 06 April another buyer from Germany opens an auction for WBID, ( 19 minutes after the first sale ends)

at 18:42 the same seller opens an auction for HIH (14 minutes after the first sale ends)

 

You said that both are currently being bid on by the same guy who won the last two, (who can't have even recieved the original lps yet)

 

Now really how likely is it that these two lps are available like this, within minutes of two different copies being sold and both from the same country.

I know you've bought from the first seller before Dionesque, and am glad that everything went okay, but I reckon either he's Shill bidding or he's selling the exact same lps again, which means someone somewhere is going to be ripped off.

 

Either way, I have reported my concerns to ebay, and they can look into it, I hope it is all above board believe me, but I would hate to see someone get fiddled, so I'm willing to side with my instincts.

But my opinion on this would be as follow: there was someone had these 2 singles as spare items to sale and when she/he saw thet they can reach such an incredible price these days, he listed his copies on eBay.

 

I don't think sweden11 playing making some dirty games here. I talked to him quite a lot of times privately and received a few packages from him (I'm just waiting for the last package with the items I won last Sunday incl. the "Incognito" single).

I would really say I trust this guy and if anything stinks here, it's not him.

 

What concerns me the most is that Denish buyer who hasn't even sent his payment to sweden11 yet (I know from sweden11 himself) and is already bidding on next two copies of the same singles...

I hope you are right. I have never dealt with either seller, so it's not for me to form opinions about him. You have had dealings with him and feel he is on the level and you should know better than me. I don't want to bad mouth the guy (even if he is selling off his Celine collection) it's just all a bit of a mystery.

 

If it is the buyer who is playing silly beggars than hopefully he won't be around to long. It would be awfu to think you've made that much money and then discover it was a prank.

 

It still seems a pretty big coincidence with the timing, but then they are both German singles, so it makes sense they're more widely available in Germany.

 

Anyway, I'm sure if there is no problem with the seller, he won't get any grief from ebay. But it's still good to keep an eye on these things, for the sake of all us penniless collectors!

You are absolutely right, John! I've already seen too many cheaters, nerds and jokers on eBay so it's really good to have eyes open and also report scum!

 

A bit off-topic: I try to report people selling bootlegs and other home made audios and DVDs etc.

You know, bootlegging is a big scum. Real tapers never ask money for their recordings. And TV broadcasts you can usually download somewhere online for free and I really hate those guys for ask fat bucks for example for "Les fleurs sur la naige" or "Unison" DVDs or any TV shows (like the "CBS specia" etc. etc.)

 

When I see someone doing this on eBay - I report without a word!

Just to update on what happened with this sale (for those interested and those browsing through this topic in the future)

They both sold.

The Was Bedeute Ich Dir went for €200 to the winner of the two earlier sales but he/she was beaten by €1 for the Hand In Hand, that went to another buyer for €301.

 

Who knows if the sales went though to the satisfaction of all parties.

As far as I know, sweden11 still hasn't received the money for the first 2 singles... Well, hope it will all end good for him!

He even sent me the official karaoke CDs with my purchases so I really like him, hehe!

 

Yeah, I wanted to bid on "Hand in Hand" this time but 300 euros is just too much for me... Esp. that I saw this single a few times in the past going only for about 100 euros...
