leecd Posted November 16, 2007 at 01:26 AM Posted November 16, 2007 at 01:26 AM looking at the dates i dont think she can add a 2nd irish date before or after dublin show as before she just finishes france and then after dublin straight to holland.but there is a good possiblilty of adding belfast at the start of may/end of april when she plays manchester/london as there is a block of time free there??im guessing she'll add more london and probably manchester but there is a good possiblilty she could play belfast, especially the odyssey arena which holds between 6 and 7000 depending on seating arrangements.would be great to see her back in belfast!! CDI Posted November 16, 2007 at 10:21 AM Posted November 16, 2007 at 10:21 AM I say if she played Belfast ity would sell out completely, no doubt!... when was the last time she was here, I was supposed to see her in Belfast back in 98/99 but she cancelled... was it 96? nic Posted November 16, 2007 at 08:02 PM Posted November 16, 2007 at 08:02 PM The odyssey's still kind of small though. She was meant to play botanic gardens last time. That would hold a lot more. God, i would be on cloud nine if a Belfast date was announced but i just don't think it's likely. Quote
leecd Posted November 16, 2007 at 11:15 PM Author Posted November 16, 2007 at 11:15 PM the first and only time she has played belfast was november 1995 at the kings hall.the corrs were actually her support and she even commented how she loved family bands!!sold out on the back of think twice being number one.great show and i think everyone in the audience was amazed at how strong her voice was as i heard a lot of people commenting afterwards.shame the botanic gig didnt work out but hopefully she will return maybe in april/may... nic Posted February 22, 2008 at 10:35 AM Posted February 22, 2008 at 10:35 AM Haha snap! I can't wait to finally see a concert in Ireland cause i've only ever seen her abroad too . And i'm crossing my fingers for Belfast - but it seems to be looking unlikely at the minute . With regards to the tickets I think it's just because they're t/c and they don't want ticket touts getting hold of them. The regular ones from ticket master were posted out in December. Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted February 22, 2008 at 12:29 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 12:29 PM Hi guys As I mentioned before I have been trying to get celine to belfast... even for one night, as her touring diary is getting extremely packed, to fit in any other dates at existing venues never mind a new date in a new country/city... Although I think the main window of opportunity at the moment, if this were to happen...would be before she flies back to the u.s for that leg of the tour.Or if and its a big 'IF' she did two nights in a row when shes in Ireland... as shes got Dublin on the 30th May, so she could do Belfast the night before Dublin after flying in from Paris, or the night after Dublin before travelling to Amsterdam, as Belfast is a half hour flight from Dublin and 3hrs drive for the crew. But I have been assured by the odyssey arena that if they can get Celine they will...so I guess its up to them and one of the two big concert promoters in Ireland to hopefully pull this off.(Aiken Promotions and Wonderland Promotions ). So I will get back to you all, when I hear more! Quote
stevo Posted February 22, 2008 at 01:49 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 01:49 PM It would be amazing if she came to the Odyssey!! There's always huge local radio/TV promotion when a big artist comes there! Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted February 22, 2008 at 02:10 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 02:10 PM stevo and anyone else interested in making this happen, if we show enough interest to these two big promoters in particular, the more chance we have of getting celine here! Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted February 22, 2008 at 04:53 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 04:53 PM I just found this article from 1999. 1999 -- It was confirmed in London today that Celine Dion will miss several cities on her forthcoming European Tour so that she can remain by her husband's side as he undergoes treatment and recuperation for cancer detected several weeks ago. Mr. Angelil's treatment process coincides with dates on the tour in Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Gothenberg, Vienna, Cologne, Lyon and Marseille -- thereby making it impossible for Celine to appear everywhere as she had originally hoped. Due to venue commitments throughout the summer, efforts by Celine to reschedule these cities have been unsuccessful. "This is the most difficult time in my life. My fans have always been a very big part of everything I do and I am so sorry to disappoint them, but Rene is naturally my first priority," the singer said in a statement today. "I don't know when I will be touring Europe again, but when I do, I will do everything possible to include the cities which I miss this time around." Celine please keep ur word just like you gave you're word to nelson mandela, when he asked you to bring you're tour to South Africa, please add the cities above, if you haven't already, as you gave you're word to you're fans back in 99. Those from the list above which have yet to be added are: Belfast, Gothenberg, Lyon and Marseille... thank you! Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted March 3, 2008 at 10:31 AM Posted March 3, 2008 at 10:31 AM Look what I found!! Belfast Telegraph, United Kingdom - 3 hours agoCanadian crooner Celine Dion is named as the artist that most people would like to see raise the roof of the Odyssey. So why can't Celine's people and the relevent people in N.Ireland/Belfast pull this off?I'm getting so p*ss*d off, I'm doing everything to try and get her to do one night in Belfast....and seeing this makes me more frustrated!! Quote
nic Posted March 3, 2008 at 11:16 AM Posted March 3, 2008 at 11:16 AM It's so frustrating! Did they do a pole or something in the telegraph? I didn't see it. Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted March 3, 2008 at 11:28 AM Posted March 3, 2008 at 11:28 AM I have no idea, i just found it on a site, as i was searching for more ppl to speak to about pulling this off....I wonder do we need to email the telegraph or contact utv or??? i've spent hours on the phone, sending emails and searching the internet for companys/people, as i really want this to happen, as i really believe this is the one and only chance of ever having celine perform in n.ireland, surely she could stop there on her way back to the states or squeeze in one night somewhere, as she said she would do the cities she cancelled if she ever toured again, and as i said most of those have been rescheuled for this tour, but what about belfast??? Quote
stevo Posted March 3, 2008 at 12:05 PM Posted March 3, 2008 at 12:05 PM Oh God. I'm going to email the Telegraph and UTV Darren...if we send enough emails then surely someone somewhere will contact the Tour's Production Team and get something on the go. I'm quite surprised by that fact- that Celine would be the number 1 choice- tho I suppose she would fit the bill of Telegraph readers type of singer. Quote
