Imagine a Christmas Number One for Madonna?

Rumours have reached bookies William Hill that Madonna is considering releasing her version of the John Lennon classic 'Imagine', which she has been singing on her recent tour. As a result her odds have been cut from 16/1 to 12/1.

'Madonna has never had a Christmas No.1, I am sure she would like to add this coveted award to her impressive list of achievements. At present you can get 12/1 on her being No.1 this Christmas - a very good price as Hills do not include Band Aid III in their market and will be paying out on No.2 should they be in the top slot', said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Madonna is back in the studio recording, according to her Web site, though it is unknown if she is starting work on a new album.  MTV.com reports that the singer/actress/author is rumored to be collaborating again with producer William Orbit, as well as Depeche Mode's Martin Gore.

yup. she's working on "liquid love" with william orbit. something she wanted to add on both music and american life but didn't fit in witht he rest of the album. william wanted to release it on one of his own albums, and madonna loved it too much for it to be released like that....so they're reworking it for this upcoming album.

 

and according to madonnalicious and other sites reported this a while ago aswell, that she's already recorded the soundtrack to her upcoming movie "hello sucker", and only went into the studio the other day to start recording her new "proper" album.

 

so 2005 should see, her versace collection in spring, along with her RIT dvd, her documentary and an album most likely in the summer.

there have also been some undecided sources claiming that mirwais may be back for a cameo with a jazz/techno sound....and we could see a visit from dallas austin and patrick leonard again.

Madonna Gets Busy On New Album

Work is progressing on Madonna's next studio album, although details are scant at deadline. "If you haven't heard that Madonna is back in the studio recording, then you might be living under a rock," a statement on her official Web site says. "Madonna is busy in the studio collaborating with new producers that she has never worked with before."

 

At deadline, it was unknown when the as-yet-untitled album would be released, or with whom Madonna was working.

 

The set will be the follow-up to 2003's critically maligned album "American Life," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, but posted the lowest sales of any Madonna album to-date (656,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan). In contrast, 2000's "Music" has shifted more than 2.89 million units.

 

Although it didn't fare well at retail, "American Life" spawned the massively successful Re-Invention tour, which grossed $125 million in box office receipts, according to Billboard Boxscore. "My Re-Invention tour was by far the most creatively satisfying experience I have ever had," Madonna told Billboard in December. "I was able to put everything I love into one entertaining event: film, music and dance."

 

As previously reported, a DVD chronicling Re-Invention is due by the end of the year.

Madonna snubs Vegas

Madonna is reported to have turned down an offer of $82 million to appear in her own show in Las Vegas.

 

The Queen of Pop is said to have been received the gargantuan approach from Vegas deal-maker Jack Wishna.

 

Wishna is understood to have attempted to woo Madonna with the promise of a show-stopping billing to compete with previous Vegas headliners Celine Dion and Elton John.

 

However, the New York Post reports that Madonna, who is celebrating her 47th birthday today, has rejected the deal, as she prepares to release a new album and take the record on tour.

 

The new LP, "Confessions On A Dancefloor", is due out in November, and is set to be precede by a single, "Hung Up".

First of all, Madonna has to become healthy again, before she's doing any Vegas things. The newspaper reported today Madonna is fallen from a horse and she broke her hand and collarbone, also nearly broke 3 rips.

No Vegas Show for Madonna

 

Madonna has reportedly rejected a US$82 million offer to appear in her own show in Las Vegas.

Promoter Jack Wishna is understood to have made Madonna the generous offer. Apparently, he wanted to put on a Madonna show to equal best-selling ones by Celine Dion and Sir Elton John.

 

However, Madonna has turned down the offer due to commitments relating to her upcoming new album and tour.

 

Confessions on a Dancefloor is due out in November, preceded by the single Hung Up.

The thing is Vegas wouldnt be good for her cos she doesnt have the strongest voice and it would ruin her!

 

However i have seen her 3 times in concert and everytime i walk away loving it, not cos of her voice but because she is a born entertainer! She doesnt proclaim to be a singer but an entertainer!
