Filipino man loses $20M+ to his wife and her boytoy

The 58-year old husband owns a business that specializes in realty and construction. His wife, also 58 yrs. of age, was the head accountant of their company and apparently, she used her expertise (and talent at secrecy) to convert their conjugal stocks worth more than $20M into her OWN stocks. She's now in the US with her 25-year old lover. Accoring to the husband (who has filed a legal case against her), she had no money at all when they got married.

A writer from my country once said: Never entrust your money to your relatives. They're the ones who think they have the right to steal it from you.

Ouch! Talk about low!

Well, maybe he should had her sign a pre-nup agreement before getting married. I don't know to what extent that would have helped especially if she seems savvy with accounting and what not...

Bottom line... It's becoming harder each day to trust people... Even the ones who are not supposed to hurt us.

Stories like this make me sad really. It's because of these kinds of happenings that make people less trusting. I don't understand why people would only want someone for they're money. I would rather have a man who was poor and wonderful then a man who was rich and arrogant. Why is it people don't know what's really important in life? http://www.smileysets.us/temp/PRINCESS/sad.gif Edited by PrincesseJen

In the words of the Cyndi Lauper song:

MONEY!...MONEY changes EVERYTHING!

This story made the front page of a local newspaper but the names of the people involved were witheld. Divorce is not allowed in the Phils. but the wife has filed for annulment citing "psychological incapacity" on her husband's part. The husband seems to be at a loss on how to get his just share of the money but he wants the court to declare their marriage as invalid from the beginning bec. of the claim of "psycholigical" incapacity. Yes, there was no prenup but they got married about 30 yrs. ago when times were, shall we say, more innocent. This story just proves that love can sometimes make you trust too much and that makes it very dangerous. Edited by manuel morriso
