J-Lo to star in dancing show

 

Jennifer Lopez and Avril Lavigne are set to make special appearances on the new series of hit US show Dancing With The Stars.

 

The American version of Strictly Come Dancing is due to premiere on UKTV Gold on Friday and will see English favourites Mel B and Jane Seymour vying for the title of dancing queen.

 

 

The guest appearances feature a line-up of songbirds including Dolly Parton, Gloria Estefan, LeAnn Rimes, Jennifer Hudson and Celine Dion.

 

Meanwhile, Spice Girl Mel B, 32, made her dancing debut in the show dressed in a signature leopard print dress, and performed the cha cha cha with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

 

She was awarded 24 points out of 30 but has to wait until tonight to find out whether she's made it to the second round.

 

"Dancing with the Spice Girls was very different. It was a lot more step, dig, step, dig," she is quoted by Metro as saying.

I only saw the US version for the first time On Sunday. It was fabulous.

I`m so looking forward to seeing Celine on it

I was watching last night and I had a feeling they'd invite her. She wont dance though...she'll sing a song live and one of the couples will dance to it. Josh Groban did it last year and thats what he did.

Don't know about this show. Haven't seen it before. Are they good, the dancers on this show? cause I thought on that other dance show where they danced to Celine's Calling You, they were good.

Personally, the dancing during guest stars singing is really annoying, most of the times it barely goes with the song, and they pay waaaaaaay too much attention to the dancers. Also the "Cheering signals" go off waaaaay too often too, you'd hear clapping, oooohing aahing through out the songs, all invoked by "dance moves" not by singers. Dancers can do some simple double spin and audience will go crazy while singers can hit the highest note and you wont hear a peep from audience.

 

If we're lucky Celine might do 2 songs like most of the guest stars, and 1 of them might be dancers-free. *fingers crossed*

LMAO - so true. When a performer came on Dancing With The Stars here in Holland, I was so annoyed that they kept showing the couple, because I wanted to see the singer. Now with Céline, I'll be annoyed even more if they do that!
