1Celine12 Posted March 18, 2005 at 10:37 PM Posted March 18, 2005 at 10:37 PM Did everyone here about the severly brain damaged woman Terri Schiavo? If not, this is what happened: She was brain damaged for 15 years until doctors took her feeding tube out of her Friday 1pm eastern time. I think that this is all Governor Jeb Bush's fault. This all happened in Flordia, USA for those of you who don't live in the USA. I think that is wrong for people to strip others of life just because they are disabled and have a feeding tune stuck in them. Why did I post here? I want to ask what Céline song you would play in LOVING memory for Terri Schiav? I played Je T'aime Encore. All three versions. First I played the french version, then the A New Day...Live In Las Vegas version, and then the One Heart version. What do you all think? Quote
MontYeo Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:21 AM Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:21 AM Hi, this is a very emotional subject and there are arguments for and against either action - ie. to keep her alive or not. What would Terri herself have wanted? Whatever it is, it's a sad sad situation Anyway, how about "Vole" - Celine's song for Karine - that's probably the best song. Quote
1Celine12 Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:27 AM Author Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:27 AM Do you mean the french or english version? I think any one of them would work. The only thing I see wrong with using that song, no offense, is that Karine died in Céline's arms. Terri is dying a painful death. I will give each version a listen and tell you what I think. Okay? Bellamy Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:34 AM Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:34 AM Vole from Live A Paris or Fly from Oprah is the best choice I think. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
1Celine12 Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:47 AM Author Posted March 19, 2005 at 01:47 AM I listened to both versions. I have Vole on D'eux and Fly on Falling Into You. I Think that Vole is the best. Any other songs that I could use? French Or English? I already used Je T'aime Encore. All three versions. Thanks for all the help guys. Quote
Koolan Posted March 20, 2005 at 07:09 AM Posted March 20, 2005 at 07:09 AM Oh yeah, I saw this on the news today. They'll probably put the feeding tube back on this coming Monday, the news reported. As for the song, Stand by your Side and Fly. Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Click here to go to the Amazon homepage.

As for the song, Stand by your Side and Fly.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is that right? This isn't the first time they've reversed things though - they keep going back and forth, and poor Terri has absolutely no say in it whatever. Well, keep in mind that the body can last 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. Quote
Lawna Posted March 20, 2005 at 04:18 PM Posted March 20, 2005 at 04:18 PM hhmmmm... this is a very touchy subject... she is brain dead, but it's sad that we don't know what she would want... I mean, would you want to live still if you brain dead and had to be taken care of and be a burden to people?? I mean everyone has their own thoughts, and I dunno what I would decide, but only if we could know what she wants. Anywho, I would play "If that's what it takes" Quote They go crazy for you because they know you're true. --Celine Dionhttp://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz226/Congenialdiva/myspacelink.jpgFollow Me on Twitter!Visit Me on Facebook!

If she's conscious like how it is in the pictures where she's sitting up, she's not really brain-dead - just brain-damaged. Quote
winforlife Posted March 22, 2005 at 01:08 AM Posted March 22, 2005 at 01:08 AM Yes,this subject is extremely controversial. People must realize everyday there are doctors assisting patients end their lives with dignity w/out media attention. We do not know if Terri actually told her husband if she ever became incapacitated, to let her die quietly. Personally, I think the parents are doing an injustice to their daughter. The video tapes have been manipulated to evoke sympathy from the public which is a shame. I fully understand it is the hardest decision to pull the plug or in this case remove the feeding tube, but at what cost? I am a parent and empathize completely, but the thought of my daughter lying in a vegetative state;the body atrophying and other complications ensuing, would be more painful to watch. I know she wouldn't want to linger on indefinately. My aunt with whom I was very close, was taken off a ventilator because the quality of life was no longer there. It was done with family members present and the doctor shutting off the vent. I don't want to sound insensitive, but a song should be devoted to ALL people who have been in this situation. anja_celine Posted March 31, 2005 at 05:34 PM Posted March 31, 2005 at 05:34 PM (edited) Yeah, I also heard it a few minutes ago. This was such a sad story.....But good for her that she doesn't have to suffer anymore..... Mozinha Posted April 1, 2005 at 12:15 AM Posted April 1, 2005 at 12:15 AM That was so sad. I guess this should make people think a little, not only about this controversy but also about life and how it is so fragile.Hope she finally finds peace now Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/welovecelinedion/howcute5gv2.jpghttp://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10501;104/st/20080413/e/my+graduation/dt/4/k/f5ff/event.png "And really - isn't NOT caring about what others think of you the hallmark of a cool person?"
VanMerlin Posted April 1, 2005 at 12:39 AM Posted April 1, 2005 at 12:39 AM It is peoples' belief that death is a sad thing and an ending that makes this an issue at all. Of course she's found peace. I don't think it's anyone's business...it's hard to believe it became such a religious and governmental issue. I think many people only liked having something for which to fight without truly thinking about the true depth of the issue. But look at what her life accomplished. One little woman effected hearts all around the world and may create change throughout an entire country. Which song would I play for Terri? Something upbeat and congratulatory. She made it. She succeeded. She crossed the finish line. I'm proud of her. I don't know if Celine has the right song. Quote
