Céline's Blues Posted November 17, 2006 at 09:00 AM Posted November 17, 2006 at 09:00 AM I must say René is gearing up for a glorious comeback to world stage for Céline. 10 years after the success of "My Heart Will Go On" they both will be surely paying tribute to its ascendancy by guess what!? By actually repeating at what Céline does best: Rule the world. Until December 2007 her success has been measured only upon US standards and while it was still outstanding and lasting it can NOT NOT NOT compare to what Céline stands for in the rest of the world. In the years 1995-1999 she has sold so many records cuzz she has been promoting HERSELF heavily by touring and thus she managed to touch a big mass of ppl tht bought her records and made her success possible. The best is yet to come. With two new CDs she will pay a proper tribute to the grand success she had ten years ago. And all that by being herself: The old Céline that sings her butt off in medium sized venues, reaching out to ppl. Céline will be all over Europe, Australia and Asia. America is still an important market, of course and she will continue to shine there, as well thanks to the tour but what is important is the fact that the QUEEN will pay a visit to countries where she's either never been before or not often been there to let the plebeians take a glimpse of their ruler up close and personal. Even if it's only for 2 hours. These 2 hours will translate in more love than she has ever received during her Titanic success cuzz now she is loved but as soon she'll reach out to the plebs they will give it back BIG BIG time. CSCfan Posted November 17, 2006 at 01:02 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 01:02 PM Oh have a little faith. Céline hasn't toured since 1999, that's 9 years (in 2008)! The demand will be BIG and I mean really big. People that weren't able to come to Vegas (or ones that did come to Vegas and were just stunned by the show) are dying to see her. She will sell out, whether the new albums will be big or not..These days concerts are the big thing (more so than albums) and especially gigs by older, established artist are doing great. I have absolutely do doubt whatsoever Céline's will be enormous. Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY
firebird Posted November 17, 2006 at 01:07 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 01:07 PM I wouldn't be bothered too, just look at Barbra. One of her concerts of the actual tour had to be cancelled due to lacking ticket sales - only one after the media prognostics predicted this whole tour a failure - and look now: nobody talks about it, the only thing you hear is about how amazing her performance is. The only problem with Celine is, that too many people from too many countries want to have her. I have no idea how she can handle this big demand, there will certainly be disappointments. Quote

anna Posted November 17, 2006 at 02:27 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 02:27 PM (edited) This was probably mentioned already , but I read somewhere (Quebèc Corus Nouvelles ?) that 'Céline will undertake a TWO YEAR world-wide tour "visiting" about a hundred of cities. If it was true, it would be the biggest tour never-undertaken by a female artist; it would beat Madonna and Barbra Streisand's records. Céline might perform in Bercy (Paris) in the spring 2008 and in New York in the summer 2008. The Quebec TV Network TVA learned that 3 tour-organizers made their proposals for a world-wide tour in 2008. René Angelil, husband and manager of Céline Dion, said that everything is still immature.'I can't wait Edited November 17, 2006 at 02:39 PM by anna Quote

CSCfan Posted November 17, 2006 at 03:02 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 03:02 PM (edited) That really isn't a necessity these days. Look at Mariah (sorry).. her album sold quite good, but her tour? It bombed completely. Celine has LOTS of "hidden" fans/admirers.. believe me, she will sell out, easily. Besides, Vegas is even "worse"..Céline now relies on people to come to her, which is definately harder than for Céline to come to her audience.. Céline's Blues Posted November 17, 2006 at 03:21 PM Author Posted November 17, 2006 at 03:21 PM Gogo, of course she will not sell the tickets as easily as she did that in 1998 for her LTAL tour but that does not mean nothing in Céline's case. Really. The world is craving a true, raw, skilled, charismatic live singer. And Céline actually is the very EPITOME of such a human being! The ppl will buy tickets like crazy, rest assured. Bullet Posted November 17, 2006 at 04:00 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 04:00 PM I agree with CSCfan that it's more difficult to sell out in Vegas than on the road! And I'd like to point out to The Voice that tons of people make a trip to see Celine and also to go visit Las Vegas and gamble. Not always the other way around. I know many people who wanted and want to go to Vegas because Celine IS there. And I think one of the reasons why Toni Braxton isn't selling well in Vegas is because she isn't a big international star like Celine is. And to sell out in Vegas, you HAVE to be known all over the world. Some artists are jealous that Celine can make tons of money staying in one spot. Well, that's because she worked her #ss off for years and years touring the world. It doesn't just happen. And for that very same reason, Celine will have NO problem selling tickets everywhere she goes! CAN'T WAIT!! She's brave and isn't afraid to work! Quote
CSCfan Posted November 17, 2006 at 04:49 PM Posted November 17, 2006 at 04:49 PM not so true . celine is not relying on anyone or anything - do u really think most of the people that come to see her shows r making all the way just for her? most of the people r going to vegas as part of their trip to the u.s. and they go to see the show as a bonus...."ohhh why not checking O? or celine?"<{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, but think of the price factor.. Celine's show's hardly the cheapest on The Strip (it's actually one of the most expensive ones (well the best tickets are)). So yeah, most people who come to see the show aren't fans. So she's relying on non-fans (who are hardly dependable) to come to her show.. which is even harder than relying on fans coming to the show (in their own country). The threshold (liminal) value is just SO much lower on a tour. about mariah - she is not selling very well outside of the u.s + most of the people who r buying her albums this days r young girls that just want to listen to some "cool" music and anyway they r listening to it because of the rappers and less because of mariah . if celine records a duet with 50 or jay z i promise u it will be no 1 in the u.s. - but will more people come to see her live? no , because those liitle girls and boys dont have the money to pay for the concert and because today it's her tommorow it's someone else .<{POST_SNAPBACK}> My point exactly: a succes in the charts doesn't mean succes in touring (or vice versa). Toni Braxton can't sell her show out at all. Go fig why.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Again: if someone like Céline can draw over 2 million people to her show in Vegas, then she surely can draw 15,000 people in their respective country..
