Show review from August 17, 06

 

Well tonight will be the one week anniversary of the August 17th show of shows. The best of all the Celine shows I have seen. The show started almost exactly to the minute, one week ago as I write this review. Onward. The time is 8:27pm and Celine is about to take stage, just as she did last week at this time. Except, I was there, and here is my experience of the show.

 

About 6pm we arrived at will call at Caesars to claim our prized seats for Celine’s show. As they did the usual ID check with the credit cards, (never been asked for my TC card) a note flashed up on her screen indicating I was to obtain a VIP pass to the show. I darn near had a heart attack as I looked back at my family patiently awaiting their tickets. As I turned back to the ticket agent, I said what? She said “Yes. I have been asked to give you this VIP ID card that you are to ware during the show, along with this ticket for a seat on the front row.” I said, “Crap are you serious?!” “Yes sir.” she replied without an explanation. I will explain later why I got the “vip” treatment.

 

Around 7pm the doors opend up the the collesium and we headed in early to listen to Celine warm up behind door #1, ORCH4. She sounded great through that door She sang “I Surrender,” I’m Alive, and “Stevie’s” song. So cool. You could even see the colored lights flashing through the cracks in the door. The show before the show! Fantastic.

 

Finaly, the time came to be escorted to our seats. My wife and daughter to row ORCH4-BB 406-07 and me, (of course I took the good seat) to seat ORCH4-AA409. As I approached the stage I was in awe, again, knowing how close I would be this time to Celine. As I sat down I could almost stretch out and touch the steps to the stage with my feet. So incredible. As my row began to fill up, (mainly with women) I soon realized that this could be a great opportunity to attract Celine’s attention to our row. And it was. It turns out I was sitting next to Romona on my left, and Giada was one seat away from me to my right. When Giada came to her seat, she was noticeably out of sorts and was obvious she had some special treatment. She talked about her autograph she received from Celine whilst talking on her cell phone. Then the camera close ups started and I knew it would not be long. Then just before the show started, another gal sat down next to me dressed very nicely like she just came from a dinner party. I didn’t quite get her story and why she was seated so late, if anyone knows who I am talking about, let me know. (seat 408).Finally, the sultry announcer’s voice, “Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to A New Day… The show started within seconds of her finishing her opening comments. Crescendo…. Crash! A NEW, DAY, AH……AH. Then the voice, “I Was Waiting For So Long…. WOW! again I was immediately hypnotized.

 

Everyone knows by now about the new wardrobe for Celine, so I won’t go into it to much. But, WOW! From out of the darkness, into the spot light, was this beautiful angel singing and dressed all in white. I really liked the red dress and was hoping for something even more spectacular this time. And they did it. This white outfit was very form fitting, especially the pants, and Celine looked fantastic! Angelic yet sexy. I hope some pics surface soon.

 

One thing I noticed during the show was a longer intro to one of Celine’s songs whilst she was doing a costume change. I can’t remember which song it was but I definitely noticed it. Another interesting thing was two times during the show a female attendant came down to the front row and talked with the gal next to me. She was pointing at something in her lap, it looked like she was writing something in large letters. Anyway she said a few things to her which I did not hear, and then she left. The attendant came back again a few songs later and asked the girl if she could borrow what she had in her lap and that she would return it to her after the show. I don’t know anymore than that. But I wish I did. It was curious.

 

After IIC, Celine came down to the audience, second row end seat. As she was walking down the steps she kept pointing at her cheek saying “Give me a kiss honey, Do you have a kiss for me. ((Hell I sure do! Over here!)) Any way I digress, She kissed a little girl sitting on her parents lap. Now I recognized this couple. I have seen them there at another show. Celine was talking to the girl and saying, “Am I singing to loud for you honey, It is too loud? Cause if it is I can turn my microphone (upside-down) like this” Everyone laughed. It was a great moment. On with the show.

 

Celine got a Standing “O” after MHWGO. We all stood through the accolades of the singers, the technician’s, all the people you…. you know. She was getting the cue to start WAWW, she sang “I see” Then she stopped, looked at us sincerely, and spoke. “Really, you can all sit down now. It’s okay. Thank you so much.” So warming to be addressed in that way.

 

Time for the rose. (but it's not me )

 

Celine approached Giada and gave her the rose. She gave Giada a big hug.and Giada was overcome with tears. This also was the closed I have ever been to Celine. Inches. Incredible! This was the best show I have seen. Celine was in great form. No doubt her long vacation did her well. She was so energetic and delightful to be around. I knew after this evening, I would face the great monster of depression and sadness from missing my Celine.

 

After the show I hung around exit doors to the Casino and met some dancers and Celine’s brother Michael. He was soooo nice. Just like the rest of the family. He told me he was to pick up mama at the airport tomorrow. She would be in for a visit. So I guess Celine was not in Canada her entire vacation. Where was she for the last month?

 

The next Day

 

As we drove home to Northern California the next day, we listened to 8 hours of Celine music. At my daughters request! Got cha! No more snide comments about liking Celine so much. Well,I’m on to planning the next trip after the first of the year. I can’t wait.

 

It’s been a week since the show and I have been doing a lot of Celine things, music, websites, making art, going to my French classes, that kind if stuff. It’s called catharsis. I did succeed in doing a total conversion of my hard rock loving 16 year old daughter. She too was hypnotized by Celine and wants to see the show again. More tickets to buy Yikes. 3 ticket a pop for one show. Expensive, but Celine is worth every penny.

Oh Keny I feel soooo sad but I remember those wonderful moments with a lot of happiness and tears in my eyes every time I think about Celine hugging me with lots of warm a giving me the rose.......!!!

Can't believe that a week ago we where so close to Celine now!

What had happened is this.

 

Last May when the tickets went on sale for the summer shows I attempted to purchase 4 tickets for me and the family. Well TC said I had reached my limit and could only buy two. After many emails back and forth explaining to them the 8/year limit has reset it self cause this was 2006 and I have only purchased 2 tickets for a show in March, but they were counting the 4 tickets I bought in 2005 as well. I reminded them again there rules are 8/year. But TM would not allow the sale to go through because TC had some error going on, on their side.

 

They forwarded my email to the box office manager at Caesars Palace who sent me a letter with an Internal Ticket Order Form, and that he was sorry for the mixup and could purchase however many I wanted at the TC price. However, by the time I got this letter, I had already purchased the rest of my tickets at the regular price, But the seating was not contingent. Oh well. I explained this to the gentleman from Caesar's and he was very sorry for the inconvenience and that I was not able to get seeting all together for the family.

 

In a nutshell, he fixed it for me to get a VIP seat at the Aug 17 show. As a way to apologize for the mixup. So I sat in ORCH4 AA409, my wife and daughter behind me in BB405-6, and my son in Orch5 BB

 

Anyway, it all worked out pretty good. Front row rocks. Many forum members in that row that night.
