Cambroneroj Posted August 5, 2006 at 05:42 PM Posted August 5, 2006 at 05:42 PM Next week is the season finale for "So You Think You Can Dance" . We all know that a wining price is a contract with AND if the dancer wants it. Is Celine doing any kind of appearance on Thursday? I don't know may be some link via satellite of Celine with all the dancers welcoming the winner or something like that . Do you know anything or think something can happen? Quote
Koolan Posted August 5, 2006 at 07:36 PM Posted August 5, 2006 at 07:36 PM Next week is the finale, but it's not the final show. Each of the 4 contestants will perform solo and with each other. America votes the same day, then the week after, each contestant of the remaining four pick a dance they did from the whole season that was their absolute favorite and showcases their abilities the best. Then after the judges critique them...they are picked off, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, then winner! Doesn't it suck to have to wait a week for the results? So, I think if they were to show a message, it would be the last week of the show (in 2 weeks). Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. SarahJB5 Posted August 5, 2006 at 09:43 PM Posted August 5, 2006 at 09:43 PM I would hope that Celine would make an appearance to welcome the newest member to her team. maykonprincess Posted August 5, 2006 at 11:01 PM Posted August 5, 2006 at 11:01 PM Jeanne Jakle: 'Dance' session makes everyone feel like boogeying Web Posted: 08/05/2006 03:31 PM CDT San Antonio Express-News TV’s dance card is so full of competition reality shows that, normally, I wouldn’t have paid much attention to Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” Besides, the season is nearly over; all that’s left of the show is the two-part finale (at 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 p.m. Aug. 16). Then it came — the jolt that changed my life. Well, it changed my perspective on such programming anyway. Just like that, I became a dancing queen. I was pirouetting down halls, swaying in my room, even krumping — I'll explain that later — in the Jacuzzi. It happened in Pasadena, Calif., during the last week of the marathon TV critics fall preview. The death march is how some participants describe it. I certainly felt pretty corpse-like as I sat in the big interview room, waiting for the next session to begin. advertisement Suddenly, the vibe of the place changed dramatically. Music filled the air and two lithe figures, barefoot and wearing light frocks, pranced across the stage with incredible grace. Their names were Allison and Travis, contestants from “So You Think You Can Dance.” Just as I floated into “A Midsummer Night's Dream” frame of mind, the music changed. It was jazzier, snazzier and another couple appeared who would have been the life of any party. Sparkling in the coolest outfits you could imagine, Benji twirled Heidi ’round and ’round, lifted her up and dropped her down —holding her effortlessly as if she were light as a feather. When it was over, the whole room hooted and applauded. Everyone was instantly energized. Any show that could do that during the waning days of the tour was worth a look. So I tuned in and found it highly entertaining — kind of like “American Idol” for the feet. I liked the fact that this isn’t a show with big names, a la ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Instead, it showcases hungry young dancers who work their hearts out just to be seen. Alone and in couples, they perform an extensive variety of steps, from ballroom — the tango, salsa, jitterbug and jive — to street dances such as hip-hop, popping and krumping. Oops, there's that word again. Judge/choreographer Shane Sparks, who appeared with his fellow judges before the critics, demonstrated krumping, explaining that it’s almost like you’re fighting a ghost. “So, everything you do is more of a punch, elbow, a kick, a jump, a grab, a smash. It’s like the streets bringing in their fighting ability through dance.” And it did look impressive — rough, but impressive. Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer on this one and “Idol,” indicated the big difference between the two is that the winner here doesn’t walk away with a million-dollar contract. On “Dance,” this season, Lythgoe said, “We’re giving a car, $100,000 and a year’s contract, should the dancer want it, with the Celine Dion show.” He went on to say that this show is “about talent and putting somebody in what, hopefully, will be the world of dance at the end of the day, and where they go from here.” It’s also wonderfully contagious, so I hope you don’t mind if I scoot away from my computer and get to hoofing it across the room. ANewDay... Posted August 10, 2006 at 04:27 PM Posted August 10, 2006 at 04:27 PM i've never watched this show, but i did enjoy the routine that was done to CALLING YOU by CELINE; it was so great, but it also shows how the dancers add emotion to their moves, but CELINE adds tons of emotion to her music. i hope she appears on the finale, and i hope the person accepts to perform in her show; lord knows this person would get to work with some of the best in the world. - ANewDay... Tal Posted August 16, 2006 at 03:13 PM Posted August 16, 2006 at 03:13 PM (edited) But we've heard no mention of it anywhere else either. I think if a huge star like Celine would appear on the finale, they would have announced it on the show like they did with Deal or No Deal. I think the fact that its up to the winner to decide whether or not they want the contract means she wont have an appearance. Because why use up her time and have her do hair, make up, etc only for the winner to say no thanks? Cause remember, its all live. If anything they might show clips from the show like that aired in the first episode when they introduced Mia. But thats it if you ask me... Btw I dont think its that they dont know so much as that they dont tell us.
