Salla Posted January 26, 2005 at 08:32 PM Posted January 26, 2005 at 08:32 PM I really want to buy a new digital camera before my trip to Vegas next summer. But I'm totally lost with what I should be looking for in a camera. And I don't trust the people who are selling them. lol They'll do whatever they have to to get something sold Sooo...I'd like to get some opinions. Tell me what cameras you have and how you like them. Oh yeah..this is what I have now..it's ok, but kinda blah and the pic quality isn't the best. Thanks in advance, guys! Quote

Koolan Posted January 26, 2005 at 11:27 PM Posted January 26, 2005 at 11:27 PM We need more information to make some recommendations. Portability..Is the size an important factor? Small cameras tend to have weaker zoom. Are you looking to buy one that can zoom very far. Keep in mind that you'll probably need to buy an extra memory card for the cam as the memory bundled won't be enough, factor that in the total cost. How much are you wiling to spend all together? Do you plan to "blowup" the pics later, if so, you'll need more megapixels depending on the size. I have a Panasonic camera with 12x optical zoom but it's not so portable. Bellamy Posted January 26, 2005 at 11:52 PM Posted January 26, 2005 at 11:52 PM this is the camera I'd buy for make bootleg video from A New Day show:http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/m1.html you can sneak it in as a mobile phone, cause it looks like so much like a mobile phone. and the best is it can shoot High Quality MPEGMOVIE 4TV with Stereo Audio (640 x 480 at 30fps) limited only by storage. so buy a 1GB Memory Stick Duo PRO card with it. the con of it is it's too expensive, especially the Memory Stick Duo PRO card. Salla Posted January 27, 2005 at 06:07 PM Author Posted January 27, 2005 at 06:07 PM I've decided to get a 5 MP camera. Those weren't much more expensive than the 4MP ones that I first thought of buying. I still can't decide on the brand Quote

canadianpower Posted March 18, 2005 at 11:06 AM Posted March 18, 2005 at 11:06 AM (edited) I have a Konica/Minolta Dimage Z 10 and it takes absolutely great shots, even if it has 3.2 megapixel only. But I think the one is too big for Vegas. Salla Posted April 16, 2005 at 04:17 PM Author Posted April 16, 2005 at 04:17 PM ok..sooo I still haven't bought the new camera I've heard people saying that anything above 3 MPs don't really count...so is it all the same if I buy 5,1MP camera or 7,2MP one? The 5,1MP is prettier, but the 7,2 one is only like 30 euros more expensive, so if there is a remarkable difference in the quality, I'll definetly get that one... Quote
Bellamy Posted April 16, 2005 at 04:26 PM Posted April 16, 2005 at 04:26 PM 5,1MP is fine for most uses, unless you want photo larger than 12inch. and most 7,2MP ones are not much better than 5,1MP, but you may get some other new features as well. can you tell us which model you plan to buy? Salla Posted May 14, 2005 at 10:37 AM Author Posted May 14, 2005 at 10:37 AM I FINALLY bought the camera. I wanted the red one, but they didn't have it anywhere here, so I got a black one. Bellamy Posted May 14, 2005 at 08:30 PM Posted May 14, 2005 at 08:30 PM P200 is a normal DC for family use. more pixels is not the most important thing to improve photo quality now.
