Celine's Beauty Then & Now

This may be a shallow topic, but I think it's worth discussing.

 

Celine has gone through a lot of physical changes throughout the years from her hair, to her style, to all the normal things superstar celebrities go through.

 

I am just wondering with the following questions:

- Do you feel Celine has grown in (outer) beauty over the years?

- Do you think Celine's appearance affected her album sales?

- If you were a new fan, were you attracted to Celine by her voice or by her beauty?

- Do you think Celine's album sales and success would have been different if she had long blond hair during the FIY and COML periods?

- What are some things you wish Celine had done or should not have done, with her appearance? (some of you are going to put the usual 'It's none of our business' response - DON'T do that... just put an opinion)

I think not much effect to her career. cause she's not known as a beauty, but a singer. her sales depend on her songs, her voice. and most people don't think she's beautiful anyway.

Actually, Céline was ranked #19 in the BBC's list of 20 most beautiful women in the world in 1999. So obviously, some beauty critics do love her looks.

I think Celine has gotten progressively better looking and thats definitely a result of better hair, make up and wardrobe.

 

I do think her look has some what affected her sales. I think if Celine was more conventionally good looking she would have gotten much more press and media attention. Possibly more campaigns, etc and all of those things can lead to more sales. Not that I'm saying she hasnt done well without those things.

I did not mind her blonde short hair in 2003 when AND opened, but I do think that her hairstyle at that time when she was so much in the press hurt her popularity somewhat.

I definately feel that Celine has gotten more beautiful as she's grown older. You can tell she feels more comfortable in her skin. I honestly don't think it would have made a difference if she was blonde back with FIY or any of her other albums. In fact I think it may have made things worse for her, because although she may have become more popular quickly, it may not have lasted. People tend to get bored with that. I absolutely agree with that! It was just a look, alright, but not at a good timing It's the only look that I'm sorry for! But, if she had her hair like in the One Heart video, at the opening night, it would surely seem to the whole world as a new funky hairstyle, really fresh and extreme for Celine!

for me she is beautiful but for many no she is not,it think that if she was more beautiful she would get much more attention,cos she is great vocally.but if she had a more beautful look she would effect more people and more press and critics.

Celine to me is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. It has changed over the years because she's made changes in her hair and clothes. I thought she looked better when she came back from her break in 2002. Except for 2003 it was bad enough she chopped off her hair.

I do think Celine can have her beautiful moments, but her extensive fashion don'ts over the years (the backwards Dior got a lot of attention in 99) and now with this ugly drape-y thing she wore the other day. If she wasn't known for her bad fashion I think she would be more popular

 

I do think she is beautiful though. Esp. since 1998, her style and hair have improved a lot. I think the short bleeched hair was one of the fashion faux pas that people weren't very happy with, though.

I liked her blonde her on opening night I thought it looked cute, and it was something Celine wanted to do and I respect her for that. I don't love her because of her hair, I love her because of how she loves doing what she does, and the way she is able to motivate people in certain ways. Especially the sick children.

WELL SAID - although celine may not be 1 of the most beautiful women in the world she has her own beauty, (face, character, sexy too) LOL. anyway she's great!!! and a wonderful performer. luv ya

I don't think it affect her career. Most people know her by her songs and her voice. I also know her because of her reputation in Thailand with her song, My Heart Will Go On. But I think she oughta eat more rice. I've been researching and I found out that some that always eat rice will get older slower than usual.
