keny Posted June 14, 2006 at 05:52 AM Posted June 14, 2006 at 05:52 AM don't feel too bad. You and I was not released here in the states either. released here was one heart. i drove all night never got released here nor you and i and that song would have been unbelievable if it was released here. If anyone is interested Celine's music is played all the time on many of the XM radio stations heard coast to coast (USA) So get xm and enjoy it. Local radio sucks now adays anyway. I think we are all starving for a new GREAT that song on all stations in my area including big Mainstream stations....stations that you would think you would hear Celine Dion on. Quote
firebird Posted June 14, 2006 at 12:22 PM Posted June 14, 2006 at 12:22 PM I agree on this, and even in the US, which used to be her big market, her last hit on the charts was Have You Ever Been In Love which reached #2 on AC charts, and that has been in 2003, all songs that were sent to radios later didn't even reach the Top 10, and it has been an aweful long time since they released a commercial single of one of her English songs. I think there weren't even any from "Miracle" or "Live in Las Vegas" The best way to promote an artist is always a good mixture of radio airplay, commercial singles, videoclips and self-promotion by the artist herself (interviews, TV performances etc.) and all that worldwide. It's not so difficult for newspapers, radio or TV stations from for example Poland or Argentina or China etc. to send someone to Las Vegas to get an interview with Céline, they must know that she's the last one to say "no" to them. I really think Sony should change their actual "Let's wait and see what happens" attitude. And a little world tour in 2008/2009 might also help Quote
Paulinha Dion Posted June 14, 2006 at 01:41 PM Posted June 14, 2006 at 01:41 PM Brazil is totally forgotten... I am sure she will never come here, we donpt even have half of her CDs being sold here, it´s unbelievable that such a great singer as Celine is, not be played everywhere... SuperLove4Celine Posted June 14, 2006 at 03:51 PM Posted June 14, 2006 at 03:51 PM I've said things about this issue before in other posts so I'll try not to repeat myself too much. It has come to my understand and experience that big corporations have become so incredibly cheap and ignorant that they have no idea what they're doing. They've completely forgotten the business saying, "You have to spend money to make money." For the countries where certain items aren't sold at all, why not just sell a very limited select quantity at first, then if the item sells outrageously well start promoting it to hell. That way Sony will know what countries do most definately buy Celine products. Also, without trying to sound like a jerk, a lot of the blame falls onto Rene. He is, after all, Celine's manager. He's not just her husband. He has some VERY BIG leverage in the record industry, and if he wanted a CD single to be released in, let's say Ukraine, it would be done overnight with no worries. But, that brings me to the next issue. Celine and Rene made it very clear when they returned from their 2 year hiatus that the music industry wasn't their main objective anymore. Celine, Rene-Charles and Rene's health and happiness is. Celine has said herself that she doesn't warm up for shows or album recordings the same way she did before. I'm not saying that we should just accept any item that's released, but there was a chance that nothing would ever be released again. Now, with that said, I have said many times that the people working in businesses now for the most part don't know what they're doing. Just because someone has a degree or diploma doesn't make them smart or intelligent. I have no high school diploma, nor a G.E.D., but I've noticed that I have a better grasp on certain things that a graduate should. I'm not being egotistical, it's just what it is. In the end, experience is the only way someone's going to truly know what to do in certain situations. And the final thing that I'm going to say may get me in hot water with some of you, and that's fine. Some of the blame has to fall back on us, the fans. If we think a CD single or project "sucks" or is "horrible," then don't buy it. Just because we're Celine fans doesn't mean we HAVE to buy the next album, DVD, or single to help support "our girl." For her just having us tell her, "I love you"/"Je t'aime" at shows is enough to make her happy. If we truly have issues with whatever, take the time to write a well thought out letter or e-mail to Sony and Feeling Productions. It is nice to have a great forum like Celine Channel, etc. to vent our frustrations out, but if we want change we have to do something about it. So, if any of this has made sense I recommend that all of us write an e-mail or letter to Sony. Okay, I'm done. ...Joe... Quote

Depp27 Posted June 15, 2006 at 08:48 AM Posted June 15, 2006 at 08:48 AM Yes, Sony BMG should do a better work in promoting Céline. Madonna didn't come in Italy to promote the album, but it went at #1 anyway. Why? Radios and TVs supported her, 'cause her record label pushed her so much.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Although, yes the promotion is better it has nothing to do with that. Madonna markets to the young, hip generation, Celine, even in the top of her game, doesn't. Madonna doesn't have to promote to become #1 because her main fan base is teen, and younger markets who research and find out everything about the artist without promotion. Celine has to tell a majority of hers. Quote

A LOT of people have been asking when the DVD's out (and I've heard it's the same at record stores).. fred Posted June 29, 2006 at 05:48 PM Posted June 29, 2006 at 05:48 PM (edited) I'm opening this topic, hoping someone from Sony BMG could read it. TeamCeline staff already knows about it, but they can't do anything. So, I'll paste and copy the email I sent to them: I'm very disappointed by Céline's team interest only for french-speaking areas. Here in Italy we don't have a single on the radio since "You And I", and we don't have a commercial CD single since "Have You Ever Been In Love" (3 years ago!). There are other areas of the world that don't have a single since "I Drove All Night". Almost everytime you post a news on the What's Goin' On section, we read "France Only", "Canadians Only", "selected areas of Europe". Has Céline became only a french artist? Or an artist just for "selected areas" of the world? If so, I'm so sorry about this. And I'm sorry I'm not part of this "elite". I wish you and Céline's team could understand,if I'm complaining it's because I can't stand having 2 years of no-Céline here in Italy, best regards,RenatoPlease, post your comments about the "SELECTED AREAS GATE". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree Renato. Just take a look at the French and English Greatest Hits abums... The french one is so totally made to suck up (and it is very nice done), all in gold and 2 cd's and a DVD of making of the vid. Look at the ATW cd - nine tracks (of best of material).... Then a main thing which is only in favour for the French speaking countries: when English DVD and VHS material is given out it is always subtitled in French. But when French material is given out (all of her live concerts + making of the video) it is never subtitled into English. This really bugs me. It seems as if all material is for the French to enjoy, but only half of her work is for the rest to enjoy - am I the only one who thinks this is really unfair?! And about the selected areas, we (here in Sweden) got the AND LIL cd much later than everybody else (this is really wierd, since we used to be included in "worldwide release dates" before). We also got the 1F&4T album much later than the rest of the world, and it came on commercials six months after the "worlwide release". The Tout L'Or Des Hommes single came out also extremely late, and it flopped and no one has heard of it - no wonder? And this album got very good reviews from the few Swedish reviewers who had heard it, but no one really knew it existed over here. And all in all people say Céline doesn't sell anymore - is it so strange? To me it isn't! So the last cd single we got was Tout L'Or Des Hommes and even I (as a Céline fan) didn't know was realesed here. So all in all after no longer being a part of the "secluded areas" some Swedish radio stations took up the track CWS (to my wonder) and started playing, this became a surprislingly big radio hit considering absolutely no promo, no video, no cd-single whatsoever. What I am trying to say: think about the success Céline would have if the released the good hit material (such as I Surrender) and promoted it... Well it all comes down to one thing... you all know what it is. /fred Edited June 29, 2006 at 05:52 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.
angel_christ Posted June 30, 2006 at 08:41 AM Posted June 30, 2006 at 08:41 AM Thailand too. Celine's not popular here except the time Titanic was released. But now she's forgotten. I had to order Celine's old albums on amazon.com and it's really expensive with the packaging cost and taxes. Only "That's the Way It Is" and "Because You Loved Me" are on air on the radio (almost rarely) Wish Sony BMG here could promote her more. I don't think they even try to promote her. Thai Celine's fans frequently complain about this problem. Quote http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j147/angel_christ/TakingChancesSiggy.jpg Click Below to visitAngel Christ's deviantART Gallery
