Celine's new keywords: "SELECTED AREAS"

I'm opening this topic, hoping someone from Sony BMG could read it. TeamCeline staff already knows about it, but they can't do anything.

So, I'll paste and copy the email I sent to them:

I'm very disappointed by Céline's team interest only for french-speaking areas. Here in Italy we don't have a single on the radio since "You And I", and we don't have a commercial CD single since "Have You Ever Been In Love" (3 years ago!). There are other areas of the world that don't have a single since "I Drove All Night". Almost everytime you post a news on the What's Goin' On section, we read "France Only", "Canadians Only", "selected areas of Europe". Has Céline became only a french artist? Or an artist just for "selected areas" of the world? If so, I'm so sorry about this. And I'm sorry I'm not part of this "elite".

I wish you and Céline's team could understand,
if I'm complaining it's because I can't stand having 2 years of no-Céline here in Italy,

well....i agree with you....and i guess romania has also to complain...we don't have ANY singles!! not even one!!! and the On ne chnage pas best of can be hardly found here.... :down:

Céline here is a forgotten-person. She's not a persona non grata, but it feels like no one cares about her ... The CD's are sold, but I don't see any PUB to it ...

With parfumes is the same thing ...

And ... BOOKS ... GOD!! We don't finf it anywhere!! Only on on-line stores!

Since 2003 that Celine simply don't exist for Sony-Bmg Portugal and for the Portuguese audience that really loved Celine in the 90's.

You guys have to understand its an issue of money as well. Many times they promote a product only in areas they know will sell. Its not worthwhile for them to spend money advertising a perfume in (for example) Romania, when market research tells them they wont sell big there.

Exactly.... I know if it were up to Céline, everything would be released in every country, every city, every village in the world, but alas, that isn't reality.. :confused:

In Greece, Celine's albums are barely promoted (although they go Gold or something). So, people here want to buy Celine's products!

There was no TV ad for On Ne Change Pas. For Il Divo's Ancora, there was a TV ad including the Let's Talk About Love cover's photo ( :shocking: imagine!) promoting this way the duet with Celine.

The On Ne Change Pas DVD never came out here. So, we are obliged to search for it on the internet-and of course, this is possible only for the people having credit cards and an internet connection (like me :msn-tongue: ).

No perfume can be found!!!

I don't understand why not! We want to buy and we can't. So, stop complaining about piracy and internet illegal downloading! :angry2: And, please, sell to us more impressive stuff-not like the 2 tracks Tous Les Secrets CD Single... :confused:

Hi there

I'm from the Netherlands and here it's very easy

to find new cd's or dvd's if she release new ones.

The only thing is that not all singles are released

here as in a nother country. But that's not such

big problem. She's played on the radio not at

all station's but there are a couple that play her songs.

So we have no complaining to do bout not hearing

from her in Holland.

I'm sorry for you all who live where you hardly hear

anything from Celine.

Hay guys This is my first reply to a forum opinion poll. i have to say though it is a good one!!!

here in the united kingdom we get rather ignored too. compared to when lets talk about love was released celine started to go quite there after. for instance the for keeps book is not realesed here, perfumes are so hard to find, on ne change pas was only realesed in one format and when you are a huge fan of celines you want ever version (or is that just me?) and dvds well celine dvds do my head in. Sony and Celines team of merchandising need to get their heads sorted i mean lets talk about the all the way dvd n video. it was late in being realesed over here by aboiut a year or more! then the video had different videos on it to what it should. then there was the millenium concert dvd now that was something i was looking forward to getting i was so excited about that, but it was pulled back. i had to go see a shrink about my depression over that lol. then the new day dvd with the video and making of the album, that wasnt released here. what about miracle there was so much to get from that project where i would have brought it all but onloy the cds n book was released here. oh oh oh and not forgetting the a new day...dvd pulled back. the last single released here was one heart. i drove all night never got released here nor you and i and that song would have been unbelievable if it was released here.

ALL I CAN SAY IS CELINE YOU SAY FANS ARE SO IMPORTANT......WELL THIS FAN FEELS NEGLECTED........!!!

This has nothing to do with Celine guys, jeez. She barely picks the songs she sings on her albums. Do you think she has any idea where her stuff is sold or how she's being promoted?

These are decisions made by her manager, but mostly by marketing executives. So complain to them....not Celine.

I did specify in the first post of this topic "hoping someone from Sony BMG could read it". So, I didn't mean to complain to Céline, but to Sony BMG. :ermm:

I think we are all starving for a new GREAT Celine Album with GREAT promoted singles. Yes the US, Canada, and France have had some singles and albums released; however the last new single that I heard from Celine on the radio in the US was Have You Ever Been In Love. Yes other singles have been released but none of them have been played on the radio.

Everyone is starving for something new and exciting from Celine. But that's good! I think we all want something great so bad that we are going to get what we are hoping for. I hope Celine & Team are working on a GREAT album with some great songs. And if promoted correctly (Sony that applies to you) they should be able to get radio stations to play the songs. That has been a HUGE problem in the US as very few radio stations are playing Celine's songs. When ANDHC came out, I heard that song on all stations in my area including big Mainstream stations....stations that you would think you would hear Celine Dion on.

Cross your fingers and hopefully we all will get a GREAT CD SOON!

Heheheh Sony-BMG sucks! lol that's the truth! hehehe Here in Brazil there's nothing about Celine. 'On Ne change Pas' cd wasn't released here. No Miracle either, only the cd (no book, no calendar, nothing). I stiil think Europe is very lucky.. well, France, Italy, Holand....

I think, although in Italy for eg you can't find any singles... but at least, Celine has been in Italy in the past as in some other coutries in Europe as well. But here in Latin American, she's completely forgotten here. She has never been here, in Brazil, Chile, Argentina... lol and sincerely lol (sorry to say that) I really feel "happpy" for that hehehe 'cause she doesn't deserve to come to Brazil with all this violence here. Anyway... the only time we had interviews especially to brazilian people was in 2002 when she was promoting 'a new day has come' album.

Anyway...

As I said, I don't blame her for not coming here. But I do blame Sony-Bmg or whoever is involve in this... hehehe for not "caring" about this market (latin america). I think also that people - many people - are not interested in love songs (ballads) - well, at least here - people like techno (sp), rap, dancer, whatever.

And I also think that Celine is not interested anymore in being popular in everywhere anymore. I think she is searching for something with more quality and not quantity. Something for e very expecific public.

Yeah I agree, maybee distribution is lacking in other countries, but since Vegas, Celine is nowhere to be heard here either. We haven't had any more single releases either, and it is very rare, and usually an old song, if you hear her on the radio. I really don't think the region you are in is the problem here, its that there is nothing to play. I'm sure Celine will give us some more stuff soon!!!

Well Renato, I admire you!

It's exacly what I think! Although I believe that Celine is feeling happy at the moment (with this lifestyle) and don't want to change her life. That's why I think our dissapintment will last long, long, long time. SonyBMG won't promote her when she's stuck in Las Vegas.

I saw the tv ad for the Voices album on tv the other day, and they didnt mention Celine anywhere (they mentioned almost all the other singers on the album).

I cant recall hearing any Celine song on radio for a long time either (except maybe my heart will go on).

I have to say to the people who say that sony-bmg sucks, I think that a big part of Celines decline in sales and celebrity is because of her and Rene. Shes managed in the wrong way, she needs a new manager. I still have a hard time understanding what she is doing in Vegas.

I can't really complain here in Belgium, but you're right about it and most of the times when TC writes a contest, it's mostly for Canadians or USA residents only...hey..we're also fans over here....

We're lucky for the albums but that's also because Belgium has a French speaking part I guess....

yap, I've given up trying to get her book in Portugal; can't find it anywhere. and the new dvd with her french videos, the same thing...

Puffa, if I may (publicity... :blushing: ) you can find her perfumes on Continente or in Modelo.

Yes, Sony BMG should do a better work in promoting Céline.

Madonna didn't come in Italy to promote the album, but it went at #1 anyway. Why? Radios and TVs supported her, 'cause her record label pushed her so much.
