Besides, when you attend the show/are at the show, the LAST thing you think about is 'lip-synching'.. I personally don't care, even that she does fantastic..

Then don't pay, it's as simple as that.... You cannot judge what you haven't seen [yourself]. I'd rather have Celine lip-synch and still have a voice at the end of next year, then pushing herself each night so that her voice is gone within a few months..

Yeah I hafta agree...I have seen the show 11 times now, and I'm always so starstruck with Celine that I never payed attention to lip-syncing or not...but I'm kinda dissapointed now. I mean I have no prob with the TV show thing, or even if she is not feeling well, ect...but every show to have so much of it mimed...its a bit dissapointing. I mean i'm still gonna go to the show...im just a bit shocked that she would do that.

I've seen A New Day... 5 times and thought it was beyond amazing each time. It all goes down to what I said earlier....we don't know whats mimed or live in the show. I'm one of those fans (call me blind I don't care) that think there is very little mimed in the show. I've read a lot of times that IS always starts mimed and ends live. When I saw the show that song was definatly live.

Regardless of which, when you go to any concert it should be live. There have been certain artists who have toured with live concerts and they mime quite a lot of the songs.

None of us really know what is live or playback in the show.....if anything is playback. Yes there is a lot of speculation that certains songs or parts of songs are playback, but none of us really know for sure. I have seen the show 7 times now and I know for a fact that several songs that I have read on this forum that people claim as being playback are live because I have heard Celine make mistakes with the words or even sometimes you can tell that her voice isn't the best on certain nights. So until someone on this forum gets a job working with AND and can prove that certain songs are playback, I am going to believe that every song is live.

Hardly.

To bury your head in the sand achives nothing and gets you nowhere. We don't need written confirmation that Celine sings playback, it's a part of her shows and has been for years, just as I don't need proof my neighbour likes Madonna. I can hear it with my ears and see it with my eyes and sometimes that's all you need.

You're obviously not a singer, nor do you know the first thing about singing. It's perfectly possibe to sing everyday and have nothing happen to your voice. You don't have to "push yourself every night" in order to sing. Celine has been trained vocally and anyone who has been know how to sing correctly and can have a good voice for a lifetime.

Come on! Celine puts her heart & passion in her singing, so she gives it all....so yes, Celine does pushes herself every night. Have you seen her perform the show in person? And do you really think that if she would do all those long notes night after night after night, nothing will happen to her voice? Tell that to Santa Claus. Even if you've been trained, even if you have a lifetime of experience, it still happens. There have been numerous of events where she didn't have a 'good voice' btw.

^^ That's not true..speaking as someone who has studied voice professionally their whole lives...she is trained...it is possible. Will there be night she is not feeling so well, ect, of course, but it can be done. Should a singer do that many shows in a week, no, but she signed the contract...not me. If she was going to be so exhausted that she would have to mime a majority of hte show...then she should have thought about it before she signed the deal.

lol...I know...I love her, but I've spent Alot of hard earned money flying back and forth to Vegas, soley to see her, as I'm sure many others have, and I just feel a bit jupped to find out that alot of the show is mimed. If I wanted to see Britney Spears I woulda...I payed to see quality, which Celine is. I understand that it would be demanding to do that many shows, but she should have done less and given more. I don't know that's just how I feel.

THANK YOU! I agree! I love this girl no matter what! And I am sure that AND isn't one whole show off playback, but you guys are entitled to your opinions whether true or not. Believe what you want but all I know is that I love Celine and will support her forever. She's truly the best! If you're that mad about it, don't go and see her, but then you'll be missing out for sure!

dont u forget she has the best place to sing

her house, the car, the dress room and the stage...are "humidified" (dont know how to write this haha) controled .

i think she doesnt has so much contact to "vegas air".

thats my opinion.

some people say that a few hours before the opening of stage to the public, people outside can hear she rehearsing... and doing those high notes..

dont know...

if u see the rehearsal at "mtv diary", she doesnt sing all parts of songs...

only parts that are "easier".

so. lets do something:

someone can make an audio file, whith all the times she sings TPOL , from the "the wisper...", to see if we get some diference from some parts.

who can do this?

You pay for a concert ticket to see a person live, you pay for a cd to hear a cd. I don't care what she does or needs to do to get through these shows, I'm not fighting that, but u hafta realize there is supposed to be a difference between listening to a cd and going to a show. You can read a play, but if you go to the theatre, you want to see actors performing it, you don't just want them to hand you the script again. So, it's not too unreasonalbe for people to be a little shocked to find this out.

I'm not arguing the fact of why she does it or if she should or not, or even if she does...but I don't think it is so unreasonable for people to be a little upset about it...that's all I'm saying. I mean hey I just came back and I already started to book the next trip there...it's not gonna stop me from goin, I just don't see why people get so offended that people are supprised or a little upset at it. I mean look at the big deal the world made about Ashlee SImpson (not that Im comparing her to CEline) but just the fact that finding out someone is lipsyncing is a bit shocking, especialy when it is Celine, who doesn't have to.

The thing about Celine and her vocals is that she sounds the same as her CDs. So it's harder to tell with Celine.

I adore the woman, I've followed her for years and I will continue to do so. I've seen the show 5 times and her concerts many times. I bet the odd track is mimed I think IDAN and IW are pretty much givens. As for her concert tours and AND we don't know and probably we never will with 100% fact.

BUT...

Concert tickets are getting more and more expensive, so I don't think it's unreasonable that when you pay a lot of money for a live show that it should be that...live. Celine charges $200 for the top price seats, but it is Vegas after all. Madonna charges the earth for her concert tikcets and that's in venues everyhwhere. The last tour she did she mimed a few tracks. Britneys last tour was nearly all mimed :sick: . A lot of the fans use the excuse that you can't sing live and do the dance routines that they do. Well the answer is simple, don't dance like you are having a fit. Give us a live vocal, after all that is what they are pop singers.

It's because she sang those songs so many times without lip-sincking and the song doesn't sound the same always...Come on!!!

I have almost 10 live variants of TPOL and they don't sound the same.

The song requires a lot of her voice's power so she had to save her voice as much as possible. That's why the lipsync always played at every LTAL world tour.

This speculation reminds me of the "Paul is dead" crap the Beatles put out years ago. It's easy to read (or hear) too much into all this.

that being said...

So is she lip sinking in the studio also? How about the shower? Maybe she really does not speak a lick of English and it's all playback to fake us out.

Has anyone ever thought to ask her in an interview about this, or would that not be PC to do so? Maybe she is just so good at what she does, she can duplicate a recorded performance 100%. And I did hear her state in an A&E interview that each night is different, it's never exactly the same, and that she liked it that way. She mentioned that on Tyra's show also. So if that's the way she feels, why go through all the covert ops to make it sound like a recorded, perfect performance? No sense to me on that one.

Anyway, this is all speculation based on no real fact but people who think they are sound techs? Let a pro run the tapes through a $100,000 sound analyzer, match up the voice patterns on an oscilloscope, and then come to a conclusion. I think it's rather hard to tell anything using windows media player, home stereos and un-trained ears as "the" source of credibility. Celine is Celine no matter what. or, is she? :wacko:
