Ermmmm.... I'm not sure what to think. 2009 is just WAY too long, I'm sure the source misunderstood, because I remember that there were US articles saying that she would extend to 2009 BEFORE she extended the contract to 2007. *Shrug*

They bought the house and the land there before Celine's break. I think Celine had the original house torn down and she built that beautiful new, modern-looking French chateau that we see today. There were rumors that Celine wanted to buy off the surrounding houses around that Island for her family and relatives. I wonder if that vision was ever implemented. LOL

Damit tritt sie die Nachfolge von Celine Dion an, deren Vertrag Anfang 2009 ausläuft. Inzwischen ist auch bekannt, dass Cher für ihre Show eine eigens für sie angefertigte Bühne bekommt, so wie auch schon Celine Dion vor ihr. To be honest with you, guys, if I were Céline I would extend. Screw promo and albums - she doesn'T earn HALF as much with recording albums as with her Caesars gig. Imagine she "only" got about 50 million dollar for the Titanic song. And now? She's like 32 million pro Vegas year continuously plus of course her contract bonus (about 160 million for another 3 years if the news is true).

 

And guys, IF I would be Céline do you think my manager wanted me to tell my fans like 4 years EARLIER that I inted to stay in Vegas for so long and not record any more albums??

 

What if Sony is smart enough and doesn't want her to record anymore or what if ONCP was the last album of her contract which hasn't been renewed? Questions that make sense if you think about it.

I agree! I think it would be a smart decision on her part if she stayed until 2008 or 2009. It has already been said several times that Celine does not have any plans to tour Europe at this time....if anything I think she will take a long break after Vegas. Caesars probably asked her to stay thru the end of 2008 while Cher prepares for her show. It's really only 1 more year than we originally expected. I hope it is true!!!!

I can't imagine that this rumour is true. Even though she already extended her contract to the end of 2007 I just can't see how she would want to continue doing this since it's alot of work and I really do think she wants to have another baby, take a break, travel, etc. I know the advantage to being in LV is that she has a home base and of course lots of $$$$$ but I really hope she does take time off.

 

I used to not understand why people that have such a large amount of money would constantly want more. But the more I look at it the more money you have, the more you spend, and buying something for a million dollars to them is like a "normal" person buying something for $100. It's all relative. Those solid gold towel holders can be quite expensive.

 

I will be curious to see what happens to her career in the years after Vegas since she will be out of the limelight more, I assume.

 

It would be cool if she tried to re-invent herself. I have a feeling she really will be trying her hand at acting roles more in the future.
