I went to the cinema yesterday and watched it...

 

It was better than I expected, but I found some scene too violent! 

I prefer going to see funny movies!

I heard the ending of the movie is different to the book. Anyone can tell me what's the difference?

yeah i can tell you. the Sir Newton's grave in the book was at Westminster Abbey. there's something about part where Sophie met her family again. the other Priory Sion members weren't there and i dont recall reading the part where Robert and Sophie goes down to the place where Mary Magdalene's sarcophagus was. Silas wasn't shot dead by the police. he only got one shot and he just died in the rain after he saw the Bishop pass out. i think thats all that was different in the end.

The difference seems ignorable. I don't understand why some fans of the book give bad review to the movie because of this little difference.

guess its just not that interesting to them cuz they've read the book tons of times and in their imagination, its like THAT

No, it's because they want it done right. If they make a movie from a book, it should do justice to the book and not change what the author wrote for the story. For people who love the book, it's a big difference.

Oh, Harry Potter...no. I've read the first two books and watched the first movie, but it generally doesn't interest me. It all became too repetitive.

 

I know they often play with books when making them into movies, but with cult classics such as these, people get REALLY upset with the slightest difference. My brother can't stand LOTR movies because they violate the books so badly.

 

You know, fans of the books get uptight about what Hollywood does to rape them, and I can't blame them.

That's true, but the difference between HP and say, LOTR and DC is that, HP fans are mostly younger, and are happy with any film representation of the books, as long as they have a cute looking person in them

 

But adult fans of DC and LOTR were really unhappy when their books got changed so much as movies, because they are far less loyal and more critical than the younger HP fans.

A films success is always going to hang on the audience it has the greatest appeal with, if HP was a film for adults, all of them would be flops, but for children, they are huge box office successes.

I liked it. Although I did guess that Sophie was the key.

 

I'm torn now...I don't know if too finish the book or not, I'm 170 pages in!

I saw it yesterday. I really really really liked it. I've read the book a couple of years ago and I loved it, one of my favorite books ever. So, I was really curious about the movie. When I first heard that tom Hank would be playing Robert Langdon I was a bit disappointed, because I thought he was different from the description on the book and that he wouldn't fit the role. Then I saw the first pictures of him has Robert Langdon... I was even more worried hahahahah

But the movie was great, Tom Hank's hair didn't even bothered me while I was watching and in a way I think he got the perspective of Robert, he was good in that role. Audrey Tatou was great also. But hands down to Paul Bettany. He's amazing has Silas.

There's only one scene in the movie that I think that could be better, that one with the dove flying and distracting the guy with the gun hahahahah I think it could be a lot better. In spite of that, I really loved the way Ron Howard shot the film, there are a lot of light/shadow contrasts that really suit the film. Oh! And I love the end of the movie. And that final joke about water/wine was great also.
